  1. I remember several years ago a CD compendium of all the Starpath Games was released, are these still available? I do own a Starpath along with one original game (Communist Mutants From Space) and would love to play more but the prices for original tapes, even those excluding original packaging, is huge. Are the CD's still available or have the games been converted to WAV files and free to download? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
  2. This is just a thought, but much like the computers section having regional Sub Groups, would it be worth doing the same for other areas of the site ie The Market Place? As a Brit, I find the Market Place hard to navigate as the lions share of the posts are NTSC related, I understand the PAL population is relatively small on here by comparison but it would be useful if we had a specific market place for the specific regions. I'm not sure how much work would be involved but I personally would find it very useful. Any Thoughts?
  3. FYI, Im not planning on hoarding Combat carts in the hope of turning a profit one day lol
  4. I guess my real question is how many Combat carts were produced and of those, how many have been used as doner carts for Homebrew games & Reproductions...
  5. Pole Position, but insisting the Star Path Supercharger! Id love to see that!
  6. Do you think Combat will ever become rare? Now hold on a minute, I know you think I'm an idiot but give me a second. How many Combat carts were made 40 years ago and how many still exist today? For 40 years this humble pack in cart has been: Broke an binned. Turned into coffee tables. Turned into lamp bases. Turned into external storage caddies. Used as parts carts by Homebrewers. Used as parts carts for Reproductions. Needless to say, theirs a lot less Combat carts now then there was 40 years ago….How many are still around and should we start taking better care of them? Should carts be 3D printed instead of ripping apart a Combat? Who I am I to say...I own over a dozen…. But think back to 10 years ago when you couldn't give away a Duckhunt NES cart, those carts are now retailing for $15.00 or there about's….. Food for thought guys, nothing more CX40

  8. I am thinking about trying Xubuntu as a duel boot OS to give it a test. On a side note, the draw of random computer parts yielded 2 x 2GB of DDR3 so Ive doubled up I'll give Stella a full test with screen cap tomorrow to see if the issue is resolved. Anyway, must go, its Mrs CX40's 30th birthday today and she'll be home any minute
  9. Ive noticed Stella runs fine when just playing but if I run something like Kazam (video capture) the video signal freezes for a few seconds every now and again but the game carries on (the sound is still playing). Do you think this is a memory issue or the software im using to capture Stella? I currently only have 2GB of RAM and if it is this then its an easy and cheap fix. Thoughts?
  10. FYI, this is phase 2 of the project http://atariage.com/forums/topic/281984-atari-2600-video-capture-advice/
  11. I may have made this more difficult for myself, Windows has now been changed to Ubuntu 18.04 64 bit LTS.... Mainly because the hard drive died that was running Windows...... and I hated it....
  12. Thank your all your help chaps, I would have given up a long time ago if it wasn't for your support and advice. Now onto phase 2 of the Ubuntu Atari desktop (an this is going to be the difficult bit!!!)
  13. Anyone else having issues? It seems fine on my PC?

  15. Ubuntu 18.04 64 bit has just finishing installing..... Install Roms Install Kazam Cross Fingers Sudo apt-get install stella
  16. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I need Stella installed asap, Season 8 High Score Club starts October 5th an I really want to do the full season!!! http://atariage.com/forums/topic/282056-season-8-starts-oct-5-details-here/?do=findComment&comment=4094829 HHHHEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I could also rip out the DVD drive and have one of these! http://atariage.com/forums/topic/212299-atari2600-cartridge-reader-play-your-real-cartridges-on-an-emulator/page-1 In my dreams maybe
  18. I was planning on upgrading the RAM when payday rolls round + its my birthday in a few weeks so I could treat myself
  19. Do you think its worth me unistalling Ubuntu and reinstalling the 64 bit version to see if that helps the situation? Apart from a few free programs there's nothing currently stored on there.
  20. I only started my new job 3 weeks ago after being unemployed for 3 months, its all I could afford
  21. Current Specs: Acer Aspire AX3810 CPU E5200 2GB DDR3 320GB HDD X4500 Graphics
