The SNES Jr has a good click but it just doesn't hit for me like the OG SNES does. Can't say why.

Just started playing this myself. Too early to tell how highly I would rank it, but I'm really enjoying it so far.
-
I wouldn't say "not fun" as a blanket statement, but getting a new game for the PS4 and then waiting an hour for it to install/patches does sap a lot of enjoyment for me.

Put together a new channel trailer for Retro Tech Select! -
Always awesome when you can find a versatile display on the cheap. I found a 480p EDTV (LCD) that accepts RF coax, Composite, Component, S-video, and VGA for $10 at a Goodwill. If I ever have problems with a new console on my Projector/PC Monitor/CRT, I will plug it into that thing to know for sure if the problem lies elsewhere. It takes everything (480p and under and no SCART, that is)!

SCART, S-Video, and NTSF RF to VGA....

I fought against this inevitable truth for a looong time. You can find standalone demodulators that will work with vintage gaming hardware (sometimes), but it will cost you much more than what a decent VCR will - and will probably do a worse job. -
Yeah, I'm happy with my AVS. Less features, but a nice piece of kit at 40% of the price.

My Game Room, Collection, and Capture Setup!

I actually have a handful of up-converters that aren't currently in use. It's getting to be about time for a garage sale lol -
I wish they would have done a pre-order for the adapters in the first place. They could have gauged interest, filled the initial need, and had more available to those who were more casually interested. As it stands, you have people who checked back on their site multiple times a week for a year that failed to get an order in.
-
Good to see that issue made right. I love Analogue and the only thing I think they could do better is CS and PR.
-
I would have absolutely have paid more up front for the adapters when I pre-ordered my SG. That's not a bad idea for the Pocket, provided that the adapters come in a reasonable timeframe.

Retro Collecting Goals for 2020

It will definitely open up collecting possibilities and let me build a proper home theater... The dream -
Retro Tech Select - The Official Thread Welcome to the official AtariAge thread for Retro Tech Select, a video series that covers the tech toys of yesteryear - with a focus on retro gaming. The channel is still gaining steam, so I appreciate all the support, feedback, and criticism that I can get! I hope everyone enjoys the videos. I've poured a lot of love into making them! Missed out on the adapters and I'm fairly bummed... I was planning to do my next YouTube video on the Game Gear adapter after waiting almost a year for the primary reason I picked up an SG (I already have several Genesis consoles with HD Retrovision cables). Checked the site multiple times yesterday while working from home, reached out on Twitter to ask if the "later this week" launch time was - in fact - yesterday, and got no reply. I can't even find a launch email in my inbox despite double-checking that I was on the mailing list. All around disappointing, but at least there's a lot of amazing products coming out of the Retro scene this year. On to the next thing...

Retron 5 Sega Adapter - Game Gear, SMS, Sega Cards
StuOhQ replied to godslabrat's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Anyone tested this with the Mega SG, now that we have updated firmware for their official adapters? I wasn't able to get one from them (sold out crazy fast), and I'm not excited about the prospect of paying $20+ for their shipping. I'll definitely fork over the cash for the Analogue Pocket when the time comes, though -
I just put out a video tour of my game room. Check it out and let me know what you think...
-
Good stuff! It's always good to have a focus and you have a cool setup there!
-
That's absolutely beautiful! I especially dig the carpet. When I finally get around to becoming a home-owner, that's definitely happening!
