  1. I totally understand the complaints about the two-week schedule. However, may I add my own perspective a little bit? I love the High Score Club, but I am very busy. As a result, I have only one chance to play Atlantis and o haven't had any chances yet to play Lock 'n' Chase (hoping to have a little time this weekend). As it is now, I know I will get a chance to play each game at least once or twice. Switch to a new game every week, and I know that I will completely lose track of what is going on. That's just the experience of one working professional with no kids. I can't even imagine how anyone with a family could keep up with the pace of there is a new game each week. All that said, you should do what the majority want, obviously. I was just really saddened that I essentially couldn't participate in the High Score Club last round, since the pace was so fast. 2. I have way more than two. I often try out different ones to see which consoles offer the best play experience for different games. Since the controllers are hard-wired to the console, it is the only practical way. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  3. Had the chance to try once more. 5250. Improvement! [emoji3] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  4. I would also say that, at least for me, one of the best things about the High Score Club is that it encourages me to get out games that I am unfamiliar with and really seriously play them. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  5. I completely agree with this. I was so unreasonably excited about last season, and then I had a series of family issues crop up. The result... I didn't play a single game after the third or fourth week. That's adult life, of course. However, I know that if I only have a week for each game, then there will be plenty that I just don't get to play at all. I imagine that for most of us, this is an opportunity to recapture a little bit of our childhood, and for me I love the feeling of being stuck with a game for a while, because that is the game I have right now. That's how it was for most of us. We got a game, and we had to play it, since it was the one and only new game that we were going to have for quite a while. As for homebrews, I'm definitely interested, especially if we can play it on the LTO Flash. I keep dragging my feet on getting Anthropomorphic Force. Selecting that game for the High Score Club would be an excellent reason to get it. [emoji3] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  6. Hey, all. I have two quick comments. I don't know how others feel, but I personally really don't like the overlapping schedules for playing games. (Essentially, that two game competitions are running at the same time.). As busy as adult life is, I found it really hard to even remember what game was being played and what I should focus on. Perhaps it is just me, but I preferred how it was run two seasons ago. Each game ran for two weeks, then the competition moved on to the next game. The other thing is that if this season is starting just before Christmas, I hope that we are thinking about adding a little time on to this first competition. I imagine a lot of people are travelling for the holidays, and probably won't be around to participate. I, for example, won't be home from December 20th until January 1st. So, I pretty much won't even be able to compete in the first competition if the schedule follows the usual schedule. Just thinking out loud here.... Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  7. First crack at Vectron... 43,110 Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  8. And... Just for the record... I'm really excited about Vectron! I've never had a chance to dig into this game, but I'm intrigued by its seemingly inscrutable gameplay. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  9. I enjoy the VCS/2600 version a LOT more. It seems more polished, and the gameplay lends itself to a joystick much more than the disc... even though I personally love the disc. [emoji3] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  10. I had a pretty good game this morning, but still a little shy of the leaders. 101,650 Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  11. I had over thirty extra lives when I hit 90,000, and I didn't make it much further.... Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  12. Had a good run before bed. [emoji3] 95,500 Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  13. Game locked up at 64,450... Still an improvement, though. (Also, check out the weird pixelated remains of the shark.) Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  14. This is only my first time ever playing this game seriously (not just checking to see if the cartridge works). I have kind of a vague idea of how the game is played, so be kind. [emoji3] 50,400 Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  15. The last suggestion I will give is that we consider playing any and all of the Intellivoice games. I know that I mentioned Solar Sailer before, but B17 Bomber, Bomb Squad and Space Spartans also have score components. I don't know how much they have been played in the High Score Club, but they are all games I would not mind digging in to a little more. Also, if I understand the rules correctly, we are going to be playing two games at the same time each week, except the first and last weeks of the competition, right? Is it ten games again, and we end around November 2nd? Thanks! Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  16. I'm a little late to the party here, but I would love to see (as others have suggested) some more unusual choices. Some of my picks would be: - Safecracker - Microsurgeon (I know the scoring is a little wonky, but I think we could all live with that) - Scooby Do's Maze Chase (Maybe a custom map could be used... Might be really interesting.) - Vectron (perennially hated, but great for people shooting for scores) - Tron: Solar Sailer (I would be fascinated to see how people approach this one) - Ice Trek/Tropical Trouble (instead of usual favorite, Beauty and the Beast) - Ninja Odyssey (a really good game if you are looking to improve over time) - Any of the games that Rev recently released on the game vault. (Copter Command? Missile Domination?) - Deep Zone (So polished and so fun, plus I would like to understand how to play this better. The IntyBASIC version is free.) Those are just some of the ideas I had. Take them or leave them. I won't be the least bit offended. [emoji3] I'm just excited about the return of the high score club. Could we also think about some prizes? Maybe for the top 3-5 competitors? People who participate in every round? Just thinking out loud here.... Anyway... I really look forward to the competition. 17. I have noticed that this debate has been going on ever since these were announced, and my opinion was always the same as Soulbuster. You can't make a distinction between this and the INTV Corporation releases, as they are the exact same thing. I, for one, am thrilled about it, as I never had any hope of actually collecting all of the games. Now that dream seems a little bit closer. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  18. Listen to the programmer interview with Joe Zbiciak on the Space Patrol episode of The Intellivisionaries. He explains how he squeezed every last ounce of juice out of the Intellivision in that game. I'm sure there are others, but that one really sticks in my mind. http://intellivisionaries.com/episode-35-space-patrol/ Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  19. This looks terrific. I thoroughly enjoy Grail of the Gods , and this looks to be in a very similar vein. I can't wait to give it a try! Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  20. Very cool! I am (slowly) working on turning my Arcade1up Pac-Man cabinet into a vertical-orientation-MAME-games machine. We'll see how I do. I hope it turns out even somewhere near as cool as yours did. [emoji16] That frontend is pretty nice, by the way. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  21. I'm so excited about this, and I love that it gives me a great reason to crack out my ECS to play a game. [emoji16] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
