  1. like i said, if you have one nearby. Sometimes these things take up to 2 months to pop up around here. I wanted to do R&D work on it to see if CFW can be done.
  2. went to Kohls, walmart, fry's, local video game stores, Target, and best buys nearby. not a single unit in sight. I wanted to try my hand at running homebrew at this model, but guess not. lol if anybody finds someone selling them nearby them and its willing to sell me one please PM me.
  3. Thank you! yeah looks like its a linux based box again this year. The more pertinent question now is what processor is this box using, how much ram and what size the nand is.
  4. its actually sold in smaller store chains or retail chains before hitting online markets usually. last year the FB legends and the sega flashback were found at Fry's around this time of the year, and nothing was available online. I would go to fry's to check but given how they are now pretty barren and barely carry anything i doubt they would have it in stock.
  5. if anybody knows which big chains has them i would like to pic one up.. for umm.. research (flashback legends) any way you could share pics for the flashback legends? it using front usb ports, or could you share what the boot screen looks like?
  6. out of curiositiy, how? I remember proding into those ports holes and getting nothing but garbage on my end.
  7. paying to stream something you already own is a non-starter for me. I am sure there is an audience for this but as details have been revealed it seems to not be an appealing buy for me atleast personally. Some people I know play pc fighting games by the tons and would really have no interest in paying 10 dollars every weekend when they get some time just to play it on this device. Not dunking on it. Just probably not for me, or some peeps i know.
  8. I have never wanted to install custom firmware in a device this much in my whole life! Dont lie to me Bill my retro-loving heart cant take this! (this actually looks badass. Hopefully it will hold water)
  9. if there is a next year iteration and you guys are still sticking to the same processor as this years (which is not a bad thing necesarily) upgrade the ram to atleast 512mb and use the same onboard flash size that you guys used on the sega flashback 2017 (4gb) you guys would give the community a huge gift to be able to do custom firmwares and expand on these devices. Also may not be a popular opinion but i would use usb ports for controllers. Hopefully me outright talking about specs doesnt sound rude.
  10. If i were to give some honest and earnest suggestions: Software is ok. Back end emulator is solid. Audio timing issues do need to be addressed. However there are a few things that could be suggested with hardware to give a superb experience without atgames having to incur crazy costs and engaging with the "enthusiasts" in the community that buy these devices each year. Please let me know if you guys are open to taking community suggestions. honestly though there is a huge part of me that wishes you guys went back to android for the backend. It would give next years iteration or any future product you guys line up a HUGE potential for homebrew (I know this part is off topic though).
  11. fyi I looked the nand parts myself. and the data sheets report as 2gb for both chipsets. this has been wracking my brain tbh. i do wonder if the pc tools are misreporting based on what is reading off the offsets perhaps?
  12. the atari flashback 8 gold is a rockchip 3036 chipset ("monkey king" processor) that boots android. adb debugging is enabled so it IS possible to add your own titles by writing a loader. this is the same priniciple that was used to make the 2017 sega flashback load homebrew: in theory it is possible to add a rom loader to it if somebody has the time.I planned on doing a port of the sega generations dash and adapt it to do atari stuff instead at one point(mine is still stored on my closet). Admittedly time has been short on my end and atari is not my biggest cup of tea (nobody kill me XD). However yes someone with enough determination can do something awesome with it.
  13. here you go kids. i only managed to test it on one of my units and it works. try at your own risk. make sure you format your sd card with sd formatter first. put the file on the root of sd card. https://1fichier.com/?oon3ffsemfx02ppirtr6 after that put your titles in bin format in a folder named GAME IT SHOULD BE SAFE BUT... I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BRICKS. TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK FYI no firmware fairy this time. I figured out the offsets needed and adapted the update firmware file as needed. here you go kids. i only managed to test it on one of my units and it works. try at your own risk. make sure you format your sd card with sd formatter first. put the file on the root of sd card. https://1fichier.com/?oon3ffsemfx02ppirtr6 after that put your titles in bin format in a folder named GAME IT SHOULD BE SAFE BUT... 14. Flojo: you da man! two birds with one stone! this worked on my sega flashback as well!
  15. well im tired and burnt out. before anybody asks, this is just as annoying as the arcade flashback legends when it comes to get it to detect sd cards... (i see people voicing sd card detection issues with the arcade flashback legends) i must have gone through 5 sd cards and no avail to get it to be detected by the stupid console but the cfw is up and running! i will keep wrestling with this contraption tomorrow. cheers!
