  1. Recently got a Lynx 2. When powered on, the screen was white and there was no sound. I ended up ordering a cap kit and the Voltage Regulator Rebuild from Console 5. Everything went fine, but when powering on, the screen turns on for a second and off. The power light turns on for MAYBE 0.5 seconds, then just flashes. I looked over my work and everything looked ok. One weird thing, C11 shows continuity at both vias... this... this is odd, no? I have a working Lynx 2, but I have not had the time to open it up and check this. Any ideas?
  2. No, I skipped that part, might go back and put it in later. I am not too happy with my wiring so i'll need to open it up again and fix that, perhaps I'll do the VGA adaptor when I do that
  3. It was a damned good deal, guy said it was his cousin's and had no use for it. he also had a 32X and was willing to sell it for under $50... I should have bought it, but I have too many toys!
  4. Got a Lynx 2 locally with Checkered Flag for $20. Did a recap and used the Console 5 voltage regulator refresh kit (and pulled a pad for one of the transistors UGH http://atariage.com/forums/topic/285449-lifted-pad/). It's such an improvement over the close to 30 year old system! Now... about that flash cart!

    Lifted pad...

Thanks, I checked continuity between that resistor, the one right below and the pad, they're all connected, so i'll connect a wire between the resistor and transistor. Thanks!
  6. Hi guys, was prepping my Lynx 2 for a McWill mod last night. Pulled off the caps, moffit, Zener diode and then went after Q7/Q8 transistors. Of course, with my luck, I pulled the pads off one of the transistors. (sorry, can't tell if it's Q8 or Q7, i THINK it's Q&) Pic: https://i.imgur.com/wONNtw8.jpg I'd like ti fix this of course, so I can trace the botton pad to the via easily (part of the pad is still attached and I checked for continuity. For the top pad, it looks like it's directly connected to R74 (sorry, didn't get it in the pic.. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/183941-atari-lynx-ii-mosfet-q7-m6-or-l6/). Is this correct? I could wire something directly there, or use a dental tool to remove solder mask to expose a new line, would that be better than directly connecting to the resistor? So much more complex than adding a backlight to a gameboy!
