  1. Sorry for the delay, I'm not in as often as I would like... Let's just say if I can put it in anyone can HOWEVER (and this is a big caveat) I did mine in a 800xl, I did have to install sockets for the OS and basic (basic wasn't part of the mod, but it was the only chip not socketed, and I swapped in a REV c while I was at it)... If you are trying this on a 130xe, 65xe or XEGS practice, practice, practice... The boards Stephen mentioned damaging were mine, and the reason he had them is I had already toasted one myself and didn't feel confident enough to try on a second or even third board, Stephen has a lot more practice and knowledge than I do, and he still had some issues (granted these were boards that were not in tip top condition to start with)... With that said, there is nothing as satisfying as putting in your own mods and having them work... the last time I did anything electronics based was almost 20 years ago in high school, and I have learned more in the last year than I could have ever thought possible, this is a good crowd and lots of people here can help you through whatever you want to try. One last thing, if you do go for the SDX board, go for the version that has the 4 in 1 OS on board, it's a nice option to have. Simon PS: Feel free to PM if you have any specific questions about the upgrade
  2. J22 is a little hidden, it's bottom left below the green cap... Circled in this picture (poorly I hasten to add) You are correct in the thinking J2 - J7 are 1 through x left to right (as you have the board oriented in your photo) As for J21 & J22 orientation I don't remember of the top of my head, but I traced ground on both to figure that out...
  3. Well, I can answer one question. Your 130XE and the 800XL you're thinking of both have BASIC built in, the older machines didn't so it was cartridge based. Sparta Dos X is a cartridge based disk operating system, so you don't have to boot from floppy or hard drive (or SD card or whatever), you just plug it in and go... no soldering require Actually you can get an internal SDX now (Lotharek sells those too)... No cartridge required (I have it in one of my machines along with a 4 in 1 os)
  4. http://www.reflexaudio.com/products_joystick.htm Any chance you will be selling this individually in the Legacy store? (Reflex seems to be selling them bundled with 2600 software - which I don't need)
  5. LOL This is still available, price is definitely negotiable or trade for 8bit or Jaggie items
  6. There are a lot of other files at spiflash, but for some reason Candle does not have them all linked... here are the schematics from his page... SimpleStereo.pdf And here are a couple files I did (and no laughing at how crap they are)... these are what I used to install in my PAL XL. Candle verified they are fairly correct, beyond these you will have to contact Candle directly. (I'll be in chat some this week too) interconnections.xls
  7. I purchased this new last year for my PAL 800XL. It works great but my Girlfriend surprised me with a bigger model for Christmas. I'm sure shipping will be crazy so not sure if anyone will really want it or not (although anyone near Indianapolis or between that and Dayton Ohio close to I70 as I travel that way twice a month) is welcome to pickup/have delivered for free. I paid $120 plus shipping and this has been used maybe six or seven times, is complete in box and comes with the adaptor plug required to use this in the USA. I am looking for $60-$70 or so plus shipping, but all offers/Trades will be entertained. 8. CIB, I ended up getting a second copy of this and am looking to sell this one on... $25.00 shipped anywhere in the US
  9. Of course not my game went to France where I am sure it is being enjoyed as intended.
  10. I did report them to Ebay and they did............. NOTHING!!! Not that I expected them to.
  11. SS4U??? Yeah, he has really turned over a new leaf. I have had him blocked for some time and recently put up an auction for a Jaguar Game that he wanted... Here are the Emails he sent me. (the third one came after I replied and pointed out that not everyone celebrates Christmas or has a tree) Dear XXXXXX, just wondering if you are one of those atari age dick suckers must be why you blocked me - sweetsstuff4u Dear XXXXXX, dont really give a fuck one way or another hope your x-mas tree burns to the ground merry christmas - sweetsstuff4u Dear XXXXXX, you probably dont still waiting on your welfare check to get one - sweetsstuff4u
  12. I might be interested in one or both, depending on shipping costs to 46220...
  13. Grrrr... again I need to do a new one of these, anyone got a spare XM301
  14. So THAT'S what mega-hz looks like... not at all as I pictured him...
  15. That makes my xm301 SIO2SD hack look positively barbaric...(and I don't even have the buttons relocated or mounted)
  16. I think you might find the speeddrive a little too big for the XM301
  17. From talking to Candle in IM I believe the answer is a definite yes... However I'll let Candle answer definitively
  18. I emailed last night and got nothing back... Guessing everything was already claimed
  19. I'm not sure if this will work on a 130xe, but it worked for my 800xl. On the 130xe see the attached photo, Either desolder or snip them off cleanly (thanks to Metalguy for this info)
  20. I waited and waited for the disk version to come out... (Grew up in the UK)... finally had to settle for the US GOLD cassete version (cost GBP 2.99)... I kept up on things and as far as I know it was never released in the UK or Europe (even called the owner of Page 6 New Atari User multiple times to see if he heard anything or had any news)
  21. How are you loading them? Cload? Start? Start & Option?
  22. Its like 30 feet! I would say if it worked ok with the same setup before then it's not hardware related. Last time I had this issue I figured out that the settings in APE got screwed up somehow, Uninstall and reinstall worked for me...
  23. I have a 1200XL just begging for this mod... (well that and to be 800XLified, video modded and internal storage )
