  1. Thanks! I got it up and running using the basic camera exploit. Took me a while to figure out the overlay folder setting was in Global Config (roms/ovl), but now the overlays are working too. Great job on this! Some of the touchscreen functions on the DS were kind of contrived (looking at you, Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow) but this is such a great way to use it!
  2. Does anyone who has gone through the DSi jailbreak processes have any recommendations for the exploit path? The video linked in the first post recommends "Lazy DSi File Downloader" which has been removed in favor of a manual process with three different exploits to choose from as shown here: https://dsi.cfw.guide/get-started.html#requirements. Apparently there's some risk of bricking the console so I'm unsure of which is the best way.
  3. Gorf for the 5200 (and 8 bit) has an odd behavior on the first stage Astro Battles. Instead of the protecting shield blinking away when firing like the arcade, you need to hold the button down to turn the shield off, otherwise your shot will just stop at the shield. This makes using the "quark laser" fire/reset function kind of strange. Does anyone know of a hack to this game to make the shield behavior more like the arcade version?
  4. I'm having a great time playing the new Dragon Quest but am wondering if anyone can answer a couple questions. First, are the upgrade stats random, as in how many HP and MP you get each level? Also, it looks like this game says "Excellent move!" for critical hits, where additional hit sounds play and more damage is done. However, sometimes it says this but then the monster "is dodging" so you don't score any damage. Anyone else seen this?
  5. I know these are very rare - does anyone know how much these actually sell for? I think someone wanted $10k just for the printer a while back.
  6. I was disappointed too, not only with the flagship core flaw but the ship movement. One of the things that defined Gorf was the vertical and horizontal movement. Being stuck in a ship that only goes left/right doesn't feel like Gorf. I think a lot of the difficulty of this version comes from being in a cramped screen that reduces reaction time, in addition to reduced freedom of motion.
  7. I use a Mac with my LTO software but the way it works for me is that the .bin file is selectable, the .cfg is not, but they need to both be in the same folder when the .bin is selected with Add Files for the LTO.
  8. Definitely interested! This is one of my all-time favorites.
  9. I think you need to level up. I don't remember my level at the time, but I remember doing 1 point of damage and needing to level up even more.
  10. "Just in time" - you weren't kidding! I thought Halloween was over; thanks for this last minute gift!
  11. Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll probably start with the hydrogen peroxide.
  12. I've got an ECS Computer Module and a System Changer whose plastic casing has turned yellow. Is there a safe way to restore the color of these components back to white?
  13. I'm trying out Gorf Arcade Demo on a Harmony Cart via Intellivision System Changer, and it works, but the "Quark Laser" function where the fire button releases a new shot but destroys the first isn't working. An earlier demo I had with fewer sound effects did have this function. Does the full game work like the arcade?
  14. Does anyone know how the AtariAge Reproduction of Xevious for the 5200 compares to the prototype version?
  15. Raiders received in the mail today. Great looking game and packaging!
  16. The discussion of nostalgia and the characteristics of the gaming audience in the "Stop The Express" thread got me wondering if any homebrews have been made of INTV games that were teased but never materialized. The most prominent example from my childhood is "Dungeons and Dragons" from an old catalog. This was very different from the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons game we ended up getting. I think a later catalog concept looked more like the AD&D that was released but with a red version of the dragon from the first catalog.
  17. Regarding topping out at about 30 ROM sales: I don't know how many people are in the same boat as me. I tried to buy the ROMs for Wizard of Wor and Cosmic Avenger, but was told my LTO Flash is too new (it's from 2019).
  18. Happy to hear this. Best wishes on your recovery!
  19. LTO Flash for $699.99 https://www.ebay.com/itm/334710182333?hash=item4dee4811bd:g:-0sAAOSwZuVjyiZ4&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoPkJvIls7DETjRDUzI7D4t%2Fu%2FUBv5SBabSgrVTONbRilrjHsgXgB6QgNM621NODDn8zkihGsqDkREzYhonghq7LobH0AQ6IOZ73RxdEQQH5NWgGdhGzMukWhmF3mFXv6BZj3cYTGz%2FInScjtq9%2FV8R7%2FVCXWVCmqhWCgkFQxlStfG5C%2Bu7Di4Nt39Ue82ziH1RUW8YyVz1tmtcwDetQM0fY%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR8KA9e-5YQ Is 'sealed' a big deal for a multicart? Would someone just collect this and not use it?
  20. I got an INTV2/ECS setup after seeing how games like Operation Cloudfire take advantage of the added sound channels. I thought the 2609's fire buttons were kind of a pain, but these are on another level. For both controllers the top buttons barely press, and the lower buttons don't press at all. They work, meaning they register in games the way they're supposed to, but there's limited or no feedback. It's challenging because the spacing between buttons is different than with the 2609, and proper feedback would help me overcome years of muscle memory with the original controllers. Is this normal, or is there some fix for this?
