  1. Hi Anthony, Just wanted to say a big thank you to you and Adrian you for arranging this interview. It was a good experience, with some good questions too. I appreciate the opportunity to share a little more about this build. I hope it may inspire others. Many thanks again. Keep up the great work.
  2. Just received my shipping notification for my Pocket and accessories. Finally feeling a bit excited about this thing. Delivery to the UK, hopefully it’ll be swift and safe, with a heavy tax bill at the end no don’t.
  3. That would be interesting to know, I didn’t realise some of the boards had these types of quirks. I also do some research and see what I can find. Thanks Anthony.
  4. Madlittlepixel posted something via his YouTube channel, he’s suggesting it’s genuine. But I haven’t been able to confirm that.
  5. Also saw this floating around on the internet. Don't know anything else as yet, but might interest some of you folks:
  6. I do like this game, but I wonder if it's common for slow down in this game. My MVS (MV1F) seems to suffer a fair bit of slow down in this game, as well as some others - which I believe are known for it (Twinkle Star Sprites, Metal Slugs etc..,.)
  7. Thanks for your honest words, I want to support the team at Bitmap Bureau as they have done a fantastic job with this game. I feel I’m heavily swaying to getting the ROM and arcade artwork set - I’m spending way too much on carts for other systems at the minute (mostly Analogues fault ?, trying to bulk out my collection ready for my Pocket, should they choose to deliver it). Though it would be sweet to have a copy of this along with a copy of Final Vendetta as and when that becomes a thing. It’s-a pity the Neo Geo wasn’t the lead platform, perhaps this is how they are correcting matters with the latest announced game?
  8. Definitely has to be a brawler, sounds like Final Fight meets a Steven Segal/Jean Claude Van Damme movie. Thanks for the update Anthony. Be nice to see something put out. As always I appreciate your kind words.
  9. Just been reading about the updates on the Xeno Crisis release. I'm a big fan of Bitmap Bureau's work on this game. I got a copy of the original Mega Drive release. I've been tempted for some time on the Neo Geo release. I saw @Reapermanvideo (great job by the way). I have to ask, it almost looks like a straight port, rather than a Neo Geo enhanced version. Personally I'm just wondering whether to plump for the Cartridge for the cabinet, or just go for the ROM to run through my NeoSD Pro (again through the cab). I was hopeful that the Neo Geo version would have some extra 'sparkle' to set it apart from the Mega Drive, but maybe that was a bit too much of an ask given the amount of work for the guys producing this. Regardless of visual fidelity the game is great to play, and a welcome addition to the Neo Geo platform. Also certainly excited to hear about the new game they are working on 'Final Vendetta' - maybe it's a puzzle game ?..,. ?
  10. Just to share, and to answer a couple of repeated question I’ve seen (and have had myself), it seems the new OS will not be making its way to pre-existing Analogue consoles (Mega SG Super Nt, etc..,.) for the time being at least. I’ve pasted an excerpt from a Polygon.Com article with Christopher Taber. Link below. AnalogueOS is the underlying software that will run the upcoming Pocket and Duo, and other “future” consoles, the company says. (And no, the existing Analogue consoles “are not planned to be updated with AnalogueOS at this time” we’re told. https://www.polygon.com/platform/amp/22728859/analogue-pocket-save-states-playlists-library-fpga
  11. Looks like some sort of announcement is coming on the 16th. Confirmed on their Twitter account.
  12. Thanks for the info Hyrulebr. I did try all of the sync options in the DAC menu. Didn't seem to make any difference. The Hydra would lock on, but simply wouldn't display a picture at all. It's been sent back now. I've ordered an Otaku 6 input scart, seems to be a straight pass through 'dumb' switch, as such it should work just fine as when plugged directly to my CRT the DAC works great. Thanks for the info on the HDMI switch, I haven't got one as yet (wanted to sort the Scart Switch first), but it is next on my list as I want to use the DAC for Super NT, Mega SG and eventually Pocket (maybe). I've heard a few people having issues with the HDMI switches, and RetroRGB did a video a little while back with recommendations.
  13. I had a recent (this week) interaction with Analogue Support (regarding my DAC), and threw in there a question regarding my Pocket order. I asked if we might likely see some orders go out in November - given the comment of 'no later than December'. The official line from them was "we sincerely apologize for the delay, the shipping schedule has been moved to December and it is unlikely to be shipped earlier than that." I know it's only come from Customer Support, but even so, it reinforces the message that this is definitely a December onward thing, and my vibe from this is it could easily slip into New Year (I hope I'm wrong) - just thinking of the wider delivery network issues etc..,.
  14. That's a good point, an announcement of further expansion of something imminent to drop would be more welcome than an attempt to grab more custom/money. I've been wondering whether the 16th could also be a date they use to perhaps open the pre-orders for Duo, if they are confident about the release of Pocket hitting the Nov/Dec expected date. Just a wild theory, a absolute speculation. What other adapters would people welcome for the Pocket. Personally I was happy with what has been announced so far, not sure what else I would desire.
  15. On a completely separate note, given we're in October. I'm sure you are all aware, historically Analogue seem to announce their new products, annually, on the 16th October each year, since 2017, as far as I can tell. Obviously there has been a hiccup or two with delivery of the Pocket and the Duo hasn't moved forward since it was announced last year. What do people think? Do you think it's likely Analogue will announce a new product on 16th October, or do they have their hands full with the unreleased products they have already announced? I feel there is potential for damage to the company either way: Reputation damage: should they announce a new product without having released/fulfilled orders of products announced over two years ago. Potential to alienate a lot of people who have been patiently waiting. Business damage: if they end up with a hole in their release schedule due to the ongoing chip/supply shortage issues. A lack of new products to promote will undoubtedly go against their business plan, and would be harmful to expansion/or even sustainability as a business. Personally I'd happily see a reasonable priced NES (in the vain of the Mega SG/Super NT price bracket), or, if I'm dreaming, a Mega CD add on for the Mega SG, especially if it looked like the original model 1, matching the Mega SG's form factor. Analogue are happy to tussle with CD drives (as per the Duo) so why not? It would be awesome.
  16. With respect my above post, I have now sent back the Mini Hydra Scart Switch due to it's incompatibility, seems too sensitive to various signals, shame as it seemed a good product. I've opted for a 'dumb' switch box, simple mechanical design, with straight pass through, so there shouldn't be any conflict/messing/incompatibility with signals.
  17. Hi all, a question for you all if you don’t mind. i recently took delivery of my Analogue DAC, intending to use this for my Mega SG and Super NT connected to a consumer CRT TV. Long story short (after a bit of hit and miss with power supplies) I managed to get a picture with my DAC in the RGB input on my CRT TV. Success. Problem I have now is that my DAC needs to run through a Scart switch box, in this case a Lotharek Hydra Mini. This switch works perfectly with all other devices, including Neo Geo MVS (via Supergun), composite connected consoles (wii, ps1 etc..,.). But it will not display a picture from the DAC, it picks up the signal (and ‘locks’ to the input) but only displays a black screen. The DAC is connected to the Hydra using a RetroGamingCables HD15/VGA to Scart lead. It’s a random question, but does anyone have any experience of a DAC with a Scart switch box, any workarounds? Hope your can help, this is drying me nuts.
  18. Thanks for everyone’s feedback, I opted for a pair of OEM’s I found on eBay, someone was selling a pair, photos look promising, but proof will be in testing. £30 for two, this hobby is starting to get pricey as that retro bandwagon keeps on rolling.
  19. Thanks for the replies everyone. I’ve managed to secure aSuper NT and DAC, I’ll have a look through eBay, might have to consider some OEM controllers.
  20. I’m kinda interested in the Super NT, been waiting due a restock, I have the Mega SG with Retro-Bit Sega 6 button wired pads. So my question, can anyone recommend good quality wired SNES pads? I prefer wired and have been very happy with the retro bit Sega offering, I’d prefer new pads (I appreciate I can get original SNES pads on eBay). Worse case scenario I’d go for the 8-bit-do’s, but I want to avoid wireless really.
  21. Happy 7th anniversary, doing a great job, thanks Anthony for all your hard work keeping us informed and making everyone welcome.
  22. To follow a conversation a week or so ago, I dug out my original copy of Fatal Fury for the Sega Mega Drive, and noticed it was published by Takara who handled the same GameBoy ports people were talking about. I bought this when I was 12, desperate to get a cool fighting game on my Mega Drive. I remember being well chuffed with it. I’d say this was the closest I got to anything SNK in the early 90’s. Kinda lucky I’ve still got it, given how my parents had a tendency to offload a lot of my childhood things.
  23. taitoc.org Last I read he has quite a long waiting list, 170+ people to build for. Hope this helps
  24. I just wonder how long until the stock of boards is depleted. I’m guessing these guys that produce these vouch for the boards being fully functional, it would be hard for them to give a warranty on a board which is most likely 20+ years old.
  25. Just played through the first x3 levels of Crack Down, using the the Astro City Mini standalone (not connected to a TV), no crashes or reboot. Hope this helps.
