Check the expenditures online; if there is anything you didn't buy, dispute it and the card company will remove the charges.  One benefit of having a CC is the companies typically have pretty solid consumer protections in place. 

We get a fraudulent charge on at least one card a year.  It's pretty much life as usual these days. We've never had to actually pay for any of those false charges, which is good.  Also good to go over your CC statement each and every month and look at every single charge.  A lot of times the false charges are small enough to fly under the radar unless you're diligent. 

I check my statement every month.  I keep the receipts and check off each charge.  I also put a check mark at the top of

each receipt to signify that is has shown up on my bill and a second check to indicate it has been paid for.
