  1. Came up 5 numbers short of winning the powerball.  Now it is up to $1 billion for Wednesday.

I was one ticket short myself. Might have to play for a billion.

I read about a guy who 10 years ago by mistake got a deposit onto his PayPal account that was bigger than the total amount of money in the whole world. They quickly realized their error and withdrew the excess amount, but upon the question how he would have spent the money if he had got to keep it, he said he would pay off his country's state debt first and foremost, then buy things for himself. That sounds very unselfish. I doubt even Bill Gates or Warren Buffett would think in those terms.

  2. I just received something I bought on ebay 2 or 3 days ago and when I try to leave feedback it says this purchase is no longer available for feedback?  Anyone know why this would happen?

Check the listing. Is it still listed? Sometimes a listing gets pulled, sometimes a seller gets suspended.

  3. Millions of peaches, peaches for free, millions of peaches, peaches for me.  The peaches are in season now.

Such a great episode. Way better than the pandering Lollapalooza episode that preceded it.

  5. The minute-cast shows no rain for us but it is pouring.

Isn't it wonderful? It has rained for almost two entire days over here, after more or less two months of drought and warmth. Sure it is too late in the season for the farmers, but hopefully it will clear up and prevent some forest fires at least, plus help some lawns and outdoor plants to recover.

And yes, I'm still living in polar bear Sweden while writing this...

It is good.  We need some rain.  It is raining again right now and there's only a 10% chance of rain at the moment.  LOL

  8. There's a bathroom on the right err... a bad moon on the rise that is.

  9. I won $12 last week which is enough to buy some more tickets.  I've always won small things my entire life.  Hopefully my luck will change.

They should have some Kaboom! themed scratch tickets.

@carlsson I would buy some of those even though I don't buy any scratch tickets now.  I only buy mega millions and powerball tickets.

The computer was off even though I didn't turn it off last evening.  The microwave said 0:00 and wouldn't cancel.  I had to reset the clock.

I know the power didn't go off last night.

    2. Atarian7

      Atarian7

I was wrong.  The power flashed off and on last night.  It just did it again a few minutes ago.

  11. The air looks smokier today than yesterday.  I had an allergic reaction yesterday, but I don't know if it was the smoke that caused it.  My nose was runny for about an hour and my eyes were itchy.

    1. bent_pin

      bent_pin

Me too, sore throat and fatigue all yesterday, though the night, and into today.

Hope it's better for everyone soon and all the little woodland critters are safe.

  12. We've got polluted air because of smoke from a wild fire far away from here.

It is way too early for fires in Canada, I wonder why this one was set?

      Drought and lack of forethought.

I wish them all the best, but it is absolutely myopic management to not cut wide firebreaks in a historically dry season. This is likely the fault of a select few, not the people in general.

Ooof!  That happened over here a couple weeks back...  The sun was like a blood red-orange color and you could look right at it...  I saw it on the news though and you guys got it worse!  Be careful!

  14. @frankodragon Funny you should mention Christmas on  a previous update.  Christmas falls on a Monday this year.

Funny thing That episode of Seinfeld came on last evening after having posted this.  That happens to me sometimes.  I'll remember an episode

of a show and then it will come on that day.

  17. I might watch "Stripes" tonight and I might actually watch the last third or half of it.  I don't recall much of what happens after they graduate from Basic Training.

Love that movie. It was the last thing I watched before I went to Benning's Home for Boys for basic.

Protip, the movie contained minor exaggerations. Your basic experience may vary.

  20. Why do they even bother to start a baseball game when there is definite rain in the forecast for the next couple hours?  They should just wait 2 hours for the rain to go by and then start the game.

  21. Looking for a new pair of oneill swim/surf trunks.  The styles sure have changed since 1989.  :D Luckily my neoprene shirt still fits so I don't have to get another one of those.  I guess I could lose 4 inches off my waist and the old trunks would fit too.  Ya, I don't see that happening.

You could just give me half your money, I'll sock you on the arm, and we'll call it a day. At least you'd still have half of your money left. I can't say much as I buy one every date night, for luck.

That reminds me of Vegas Vacation when the dealer offers to take half of Clark's money, go out back and kick him in the nuts, and call it a day.
