It finally feels like winter but there's still no snow. This winter is shaping up to be like the winter of '98. 1/10th an inch of snow. Also a lot of warm days in the 50's and 60's.

It might not matter so much if you get more rain year round as well...IDK...From what I've read, and I should probably say "SnowPack", (Quoting the internet here) Snow protects against erosion, slowly melting and deeply recharging the soil with water–preventing it from leaving the area as runoff. Melting snow gradually fills streams, which slowly fill rivers, providing a steady supply of freshwater that can last through summer.

Trying to decide between Firefox and Microsoft Edge.

Brave. It's Chromium-based and security- / privacy-focused. Recently dropped Firefox in favour of it after a surprisingly decent trial period and am overall impressed.

Eggs are great. Cholesterol does a body good.

"Service Engine Soon" light is on. Fuuuucckk! At least AAMCO checks it for free. Nissan wants $130 (maybe more by now) to diagnose the problem. The first time this happened I just needed new spark plugs.

"Fuuu.. dge" Computer was going slow and freezing up but it seems to be fine now.

More often than one can imagine, it can be a sign of an old, inferior power supply. Yes, the computer boots as it should but behaves strangely. I found my old PC to both become more stable and perhaps a tad bit faster to start after replacing the PSU. Of course if your PC is fairly new, that might not be the case but if it is 6-10 years old or so, it can be worth considering.

New "Beavis and Butthead" this Wednesday at 10:30 on Comedy Central. "We just came here to break stuff."

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow. That means 6 more weeks of winter. LOL

Someone won the $1.35 billion mega millions and it wasn't me.
-
Unusual mega millions numbers last night: 7, 13, 14, 15, 18 plus the MB which was 9. For those who don't know, the possible numbers go up to the 60's.

No snow in sight. I hope this isn't like the winter of '98 when we only got 1/10 th of an inch the entire season.

@Atarian7 It's shaping up that way here to in the Kansas City metro area. We had that one couple of inches a few weeks back and no more in sight right now. I was telling my wife, who didn't grow up here and is not familiar with the area from 30+ years ago, that when I was a kid, pretty much all of January and February and into March the ground was in constant cover of snow. Hell, it was always 50/50 every "Spring" break in March as kids whether we'd be playing baseball/football in the neighborhood field in short sleeves or sledding the entire week off from school. Not this snow/melt..snow/melt stuff it does today. I lived away from the area for 30 years in warm climates(mostly Hawaii), so I didn't notice any gradual change, but moving back to the area a few years ago, it's a stark difference to my childhood memories.

When I first got here today, I thought "damn I missed posting my scores for the 2600 HSC". But then I remembered it goes until January 8.

What are you doing for New Year's Eve? I'm just playing some atari, drinking a few beers, and maybe watching the ball drop if I don't fall asleep.

My wife and I are headed to my brother and his girlfriend's house for late gift exchange followed by a small party of people coming to his place for new years. We're luck we live a scant 5 minute walk from each other now. Not sure if we'll still be awake at midnight. It's hit or miss each year. My wife and I think the last time we really went out and "partied" so to speak was when we were still living in Hawaii in our 20's and went out with some friends in Honolulu. We were in our mid/late 20's then and I remember even then, we kind of said to each other "Yeah...I think I've had enough of that".

I rolled out of my bed for the 2nd or 3rd time since we moved. The side that is facing the center of the room used to face the wall in our last house. I'm lucky I didn't hurt myself.

Do people hump because it's called hump day or is it called hump day because people hump?

It was 36 F a couple of hours ago. Now it is 15 F and going down to 7.
But there is no such thing as cold, only an absence of heat.

Looks like we'll need Rudolph this year.

The forecast for next Thursday and Friday keeps changing. First it's snow, then it's freezing rain, and then it's rain/snow. Right now it is back to freezing rain for Thursday and snow for Friday. I'm rooting for all snow.

Oh yeah no doubt. I just mentioned the PT Cruiser because it looked so sad in median stuck. Looked like it was in nice condition too, all original and not clapped out with Kmart hubcaps. Like I said it's amazing how these idiots can wreck in literally 5 centimeters of snow. Body shops probably pray for harsh winters. Lol

We're getting a cold rain today. 33 degrees Glad it isn't freezing anymore.

Well, in many ways, the Big Boy never left, sir. He's always offered the same high-quality meals at competitive prices.

We actually got the right combination of papers this morning even though we moved last week.
I'm surprised because sometimes they got it wrong at our old address where we had been living for years.
Oh yeah, I assume it is the same delivery person because we only moved a mile away.
