  1. This site happens to have a computer database. It’s not perfect, but it’s way better than nothing.
  2. Thanks! My mom actually wanted a 2600 when she was younger than me, (she became interested in one in 1979) but her parents wouldn’t let her get one. They thought it was a waste of time and it was about $150, so that’s why she never got one.
  3. I might be planning on doing a website in the future.
  4. Oh boy it’s my stupid question time! so I’m planning on making a spreadsheet with every video game console or as many I can find. I’m planning on including Home computers on it, so should I include Personal Computers as well?
  5. I’m planning on getting a Atari 2600 in the near future, but I’m wondering about what game to get for it? I was thinking about getting Combat,Breakout,Pitfall!. But are some other suggestions?
  6. On this site, there is a console listed there called the Jimmy 8XL. I couldn’t find anything more on it, other than it was released in 1975. It was presumably a pong console, being released in 1975.
  7. That looks like a great site too! Pong Picture Page was too, but I’m not here to ramble about it.
  8. Where can I find a complete list of video game consoles? This Includes: Home Consoles, Handhelds, microconsoles, and dedicated consoles.
  9. It was on the forum I was talking about. The link is in the first post. EDIT: It seemed to talk about the working on relaunching it.
  10. I’ve heard that before. Strange when you consider the post that the Website’s account on here made.
  11. Some of you might remember Pong-Picture-Page.de, a excellent website for Early video game consoles. One day in the spring of 2016 (I actually remember when it went offline) it just disappeared. I’ve had no news on it since 2018 when a post on a forum on here (pong-picture-page is dead?) when the account on here said: “hi, the old version is dead, we have the data, but its impossible to bring it online with current php versions, cause its millions of years old. but the good news, i (bernd) and adrian, we are working on a relaunch at the moment. the backend is 99% finished, i will import the old data, and adrian will update it. and than i have to develop the frontend and we are online again. but its just a hobby, so it will take a few more months i guess.” that was posted April 28th, 2018. It’s now nearly 2020. I hope work is still going on, but I not so sure anymore. So, is there any Pong Picture page equivalents around the internet with just as much information? Link to the aforementioned Forum
  12. My answer is a bit complicated... The first console my family had was a originally PlayStation that they got in 1998, before I was born. It was also how I first heard about Spyro and Crash Bandicoot, having the original trilogy of Spyro games as well as the third crash game. The first to call my own was a Leapfrog Leapster. I think it was the original model too. I don’t own it anymore unfortunately. The first non-educational console I had is a Nintendo DSI XL I got on my birthday in 2012. I got Cars 2 the video game and a Chevrolet Camero game on it. EDIT: The first Non-Handheld console I got was a Xbox 360 Slim in Christmas 2012.
  13. On a related note, do you think that the CRT Amusement device, patented in 1947, would have made a difference in this is it was ever made available to the public?
  14. To be honest,I think that they may be more Odyssey like consoles out on the market than in real life. Maybe around the late 60s we might see things like pong TV games
  15. I once read that in 1951, while working at Loral Electronics, Ralph Baer was claims that he first got the idea of building something into the TV set for the owner to control, rather than just watching TV. In real life, he did not go through with the idea, but it came back to him in 1966, while waiting for a bus. So my question for everyone is this: what if Baer had gone through the idea back in 1951 rather than in 1966? How would the video game industry would be different?
  16. Find a site with information about old and new Personal Computers. I’ve been thinking about making a spreadsheet with every computer, but finding PC’s isn’t very easy. Best I’ve had is find the support sites and things like that, but it doesn’t list things like the release date. Maybe if there was something like a complete buyer guide or a complete brochure from a manufacturer from a certain year, or heck even a price guide could help.
  17. Nothing that I’ve heard but I’ve contacted the account on here for that site. So hopefully, I’ll get a response soon.
  18. I’m wondering if there is a site or a few sites that record every PC’s out there. Also if my my grammar is bad,I’m sorry.
  19. Hello, I’m the guy actually asked what about the site last year. I’m wondering if much progress has been made on the sites relaunch? Hopefully it’s coming along.
