My current status is that I am married with two children and I am employed. In case anybody was wondering. What's your status?

I am nowhere near Queens but I found this on Craigslist. Looks like a great haul for the money. https://newyork.craigslist.org/que/sys/d/jackson-heights-atari-800/7219256392.html

Holy crap! Sega Nomad prices are through the roof! Guess I haven't checked prices on them in a while.

Sticker shock, huh? I have 2 of them, bought back when they were only ridiculous, not ludicrous ...One needs work (Power supply maybe) but it has the LCD mod, the other is bone stock...I used to love to kick back and play some Ultimate Qix (I left it plugged in) but now on the broken one if ya tilt it just a little the damn thing resets! (Power goes off and back on) ...Arrrrrrrrrg!

Oof. That's frustrating. And yes, sticker shock. I now have two in good condition physically (except for scratched screens) and one that is missing the battery box and has the start button about ripped out of the case. Need to get them all recapped and I am thinking about new LCD screens on the two that are nicer. I think I only paid $20 for the beat up one and like $40 or $50 for the nicer one (many years ago). The second nicer one I just received as a gift from my sister and brother in law today.

I just saw an Uber Eats commercial with Patrick Stewart and Mark Hamill. There was almost a fight between them with Cricket bats of all things. It was epic!

I got a package from Songbird today and it had half of a newspaper page in it from what looks like Sweden. Maybe @carlsson can translate for us.

Cool. That must be a rather old newspaper, about February 2020. The upper article mentions a music festival intended to be held on June 25-27, but due to Covid-19 it was cancelled altogether on May 15. The big news was about a female artist, Veronica Maggio making her only planned concert in this area at the festival. Alas that never happened.
The bottom article is about yet another of those trendy restaurants opening and closing all the time. For a short while there was a low-end fastfood burger joint at the address at Sturegatan, but slow serving plus even more boring burgers than McDonald's meant it didn't last long. Now this Blackstone Steakhouse was about to open, with game, beef, pizza, swordfish, vegetarian and vegan choices on the menu. The guest gets a raw piece of meat to the table and decides for how long to cook it.
Apparently this restaurant at least still is open, seven months later in a period of many places closing down (even here where we never had a full lockdown). However, I've never been there. For a price point, the pizzas and vegan dishes are ~$17-$21 each and meat dishes $28-$41. That might be typical for that kind of restaurant, but then again at that price point the city is crowded by existing and new restaurants, so they got a lot of competition.

How strange, in todays birthdays there are 9phoneman and 10phoneman. Both of them are 48 today. What are the odds? Maybe they are twins?

Playing Godzilla by B.O.C. while watching Godzilla on TV. Awesome. Annoying the wife while doing it. Priceless.

Started playing the Native demo on Jaguar last night. WOW! That is probably the most visually stunning game on the Jag. I really wish it was completed.

I saw a Subaru BRAT on my way home today. You don't see that every day anymore. I thought they all rusted away!
-
I used to enjoy seeing the old versions with the seats in the back. I always thought that was cool. I live in the northeast (salt belt) so most of the ones around here have rusted away or been scraped years ago. The one I saw yesterday was a later one but was just dark blue with a white BRAT logo on the pillar at the back of the cab. Still neat to see though.

Yea! Status updates are working again! Anyway, check out my give away thread for some neat stuff from time to time.

Why is there no barking in Ozzy Osbournes' "Bark at the Moon"? There is only some howling at the end of the song.? When there is a song about barking, I want barking damn it!

I met the vocalist at NordicFest in Oslo in 2005 or 2007.
He drank a non-alcoholic beer and mentiond responsible drinking.
I mentioned I thought ‘Nocturnal’ was a really cool track.
