What about now? Same 'ol... the Jag should be able to handle Quake at 200fps?  lol

  3. Atari Age public domain movie night tonight!  Check the thread in Entertainment & Sports for more details!

  4. I have two Dell laptops with Windows XP on them up for grabs in my giveaway thread.  Check them out!

Probably @Master Phruby but If someone wants one for a project or repair of an older unit then they can have one.  If nobody wants them, then I will dispose of them appropriately.

  5. I just Asked Jeeves for the first time ever.  Typed Search... in the search field.  Results for a search engine search and Google came up.

  6. Got a TG16 mini yesterday.  Seems to be made pretty well.  I think i'll have some fun with this!

I think putting on both Crush games would have been pretty cool...Hmmm...I've never even played Time  Cruise!  I'll have to check it out!

Mine should be here Sunday if all goes well.  Although an early delivery would be nice.

GoldLeader - Time Cruise was a different developer IIRC, and it definitely didn't feel like the Crush games. Naxat Pinball was is so good!

I was going through my PC Engine/TG-16 games today and I really wish they would have swapped Daimakaimura (Ghouls n Ghosts) for 1941 Counter Attack and added Silent Debuggers. The latter used sound so well to let you know where enemies were!

  7. Wife was woken up by the cat a 4 am.  Then she started hearing music coming from downstairs.  Found our 9 and 3 year old playing Super Mario Bros. on the Wii.  Ah, to be young and wild and free (and not have to go to work in the morning)!

  8. Anybody remember goatari.com?  What happened to them?  I used to buy some items from them but haven't in a while.  Went to look for them today and the website is for sale.

      jaybird3rd

Wow, GoAtari!  I last bought Jaguar stuff from them in 2000; in retrospect, I wish I'd bought more at those prices!  I seem to recall that they sold their remaining stock to some other vendor.

  9. Thank you Geico for having RATT in your commercial.  Now listening to a Youtube stream.  I forgot how good these guys are.

Great commercial that also plays homage to the video. That whole album (Out of the Cellar) still holds up well today.

  10. Followup:  I had someone come out and replace my well pump and starter circuit.  I now have water again.  $1800 is really going to cut into my gaming budget though.

    1. Turbo-Torch

      Turbo-Torch

That's pricey.  If you watched them, you could probably do it yourself next time.  My deep well is 100' down...takes me less than 2 hours and under $400 for a pump and all wear and tear parts from the local big box hardware store.  Only "special" tool needed is a length of threaded pipe with a T and two small nipples at the top in case you accidentally drop it.  Screw the pipe into pitless adapter, pull the cable to disconnect and yank the sucker out.

Was wondering about this... glad you now have water, but how deep is your love? I mean... pump.  lmao

We live on a hill, so our shit goes way, way down...

I did not watch them and I know I could have done it much cheaper but then I would have to take a day off work and, well, actually work anyway.  Plus I have a wife and kids stuck at home without water.  Labor wasn't that much but the pump was a bit pricey.  They installed a heavy duty pump and had to fix the starter circuit as the capacitor belched out all of its electrolyte.  My well is fairly shallow at only 60'.

  11. My well pump stopped working today.  No water for cooking or cleaning.  Good thing Taco Bell is 5 minutes up the street.  They saved Taco Tuesday.

  12. Watching Svengoolie.  Tonights movie is The Deadly Mantis.  Good movie so far.

  13. I would like to thank @Magmavision2000 for hosting Atariage public domain movie night.  It was the most fun I've had on my computer since exiting puberty.  Y'all should join us next time!

  14. My kids are hot dog snobs.  They won't eat anything but Ballpark all beef franks.  I try to give them less expensive ones and they just complain.  I never had choices as a kid.  Kids should just eat what they are given without complaining.  Ya' know.

If it's hot and it's a dog, I'll eat it. Pffft! Kids these days.

Ohh that one. It's not a fresh unboxing, but one "pre-assembled" from various sources.

  17. I see someone brought back The Cherry Thread that I forgot to include in my status update the other day.  It's been dead for 3 years!  Let it go man!

  18. One can get very hungry visiting the general chat forums.  The corn thread, the banana thread, the bread thread, the cheese thread, the ramen noodles thread, and you can wash it all down with the tea thread!  I am starting the beer thread so their are choices in beverages!  Oh, I almost forgot, Chicken sandwiches to die for, what are you eating tonight, What's the best Chinese restaurant you've been to, groceries.  I am sure I am forgetting something.  Maybe the mods could start a food sub forum????

  20. Congratulations @bloodreptile , I see that you are 105 today.  Let's see, if you got into Atari in the 1970's, you would have been in your late 60's.  Not something I would expect a retired person to get into, but who am I to judge.
