  1. Is there still plastic over the silver strip? Wondering if the scratches are on the plastic or the actual silver.
  2. Looks awesome! Bruce Lee was a favorite back in the day.
  3. "Retail on te lot is $2800, asking $1700 shipped for all in USA" Retail? LOL No offense, but a lot of that stuff is basically junk.
  4. Post photos of the set!
  5. I don't use a Retron. It works on actual Atari hardware, though.
  6. There is an adapter to choose which player the paddle will be. I have one and it does work. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084TSVDFZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  7. These are BRILLIANT!!! Thank you! Can't wait to try them on my actual 2600 when I get my Harmony Encore cart.
  8. Back to Atari after some decades! Ordered a Harmony Encore for my "new' heavy sixer. ?
  9. Awesome! If you have any feedback on Atariage about those mods I would love to take a look. I know heavy sixers can be a little more challenging to mod, but what I want is a pretty simple version of things, i.e. I don't need input drilled into the case.
  10. Sure, thanks for asking. ? I love taking photos of vintage gaming stuff. I thoroughly cleaned both of these systems, so I thought it would be interesting to show the condition of the PCB's. The "old" one with non-working sound seems to have been a victim of spilled soda or something. The "new" one is very clean. Here is my new heavy sixer having a threesome with my 800 and 130XE. ? And here are a few shots of my new girl by herself, looking all shiny clean and pretty. Note: my wife fully endorses my hobby. ?
  11. Here's mine, SN 24009K, just got it today. Very nice condition, works great, just need to be clean it a bit. I do have an opening marked channel select in the bottom case, but there is no channel select switch.
  12. Thank you both. I have now acquired another heavy sixer that is working perfectly, but I would like to get it AV modded someday. The one with broken sound is being returned to seller for refund.
  13. Conclusion reached: the seller I bought this one from on ebay has a return for refund policy with free return shipping, so it's going back. Meanwhile, I bought another heavy sixer from another seller on ebay that arrived today, and it is working perfectly and looks just as nice or better. So, I'm very happy about that. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me with this problem.
  14. Yes, I'm in NC. I contacted electronicsentimentalities last week but did not get a reply, so not sure he is currently doing business.
  15. Long story short: I have a heavy sixer with no sound output (just static noise). I have tried adjusting the ferrite core with no effect. I am not skilled in electronics at all. I'd like to get it fixed, and/or also AV modded (preferably with the UAV). I'm in NC, USA. Anyone here currently accepting such work? I would want to see some feedback regarding past work before sending anything over, of course. I contacted electronicsentimentalities last week but they did not respond, so I'm guessing they are not currently doing business(?). If you have or know of another such reputable modding/repair business in USA that is currently taking work please let me know. Thanks.
  16. I bought a Ranger a couple of weeks ago and HATED the thumbstick design. I found the small, sharp, hexagonal shape to be very uncomfortable. Luckily I found that joystick caps for the Nintendo Switch fit it perfectly and greatly improved it for me. If anyone is interested, these are what I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XTHG2WP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  17. As always, I appreciate your advice. I won't do the system switch. I'm also angry with the ebay seller who sold me this heavy sixer as "working great" and then ignored me when I asked about the sound not working. The case is in really nice condition. That's the only thing that has stopped me from sending it back. Maybe someone around here can fix it...
  18. So I opened it up and examined the motherboard. To my very non-expert eyes it looks very clean and nice, with nothing looking broken or leaking. I tried turning the ferrite core again using the plastic tool, and visually confirmed that it is indeed rotating inside. There was no perceivable effect on the RF output, either sound or video. At this point, I really just wanna play some old games. So, I'm considering buying an AV modded light sixer I found for $110 shipped, and switching the guts because I'm very nostalgiac about the heavy sixer case and I have one in beautiful condition. From the research I've done I think that's the simplest and most cost effective solution for me, since I do want an AV mod at some point and from the research I've done AV mod service would cost me anywhere from $65 - $100 plus shipping costs back and forth. Stupid idea, or reasonable considering my situation?
  19. Would an AV mod completely bypass this issue? I'm thinking of having that done anyway.
  20. Thank you both. I will work on it more later. Is the "ferrite slug" the round dark orange part or the smaller hole below it? What I mean is - which part should I be trying to turn?
  21. The only reason I'm interested is because my heavy sixer has bad sound (all static, no sound) and I'm thinking switching might be an easy fix. As for selling someday (if ever), I am always honest about that sort of thing so no worries. Also, If you could offer any advice about the sound problem that would be awesome. Please check my other thread.
  22. Quick question for the 2600 experts. Can I switch the guts of a light sixer into a heavy sixer case without any modification or anything? Thanks
  23. The kit arrived, but these plastic tools are worthless. The 2mm one that seems to fit can't generate enough torque to actually turn anything, plus the design of this 2600 inside is such that the cartridge overhangs where the dark orange hole is. I'm a total novice with all this, so I really need some help here guys. I know nothing about repairing electronics. I'm thinking a 2mm *metal* allen wrench might be able to turn the "ferrite core" thing, but I would have to order one. Plus people say not to use metal, but I've seen videos using metal so... I'm kinda lost and confused. UPDATE: here is a short video demonstrating the sound problem. There are no game sounds heard, only constant static fuzz noise. UPDATE 2: the video doesn't seem to be showing an image but the sound is playing. The image is a decent RF picture though, only the sound is bad. IMG_2617_HEVC.MOV
  24. That's a really good deal IMO if that stuff works. Well out of my area though.
  25. Hey Atari people, I have 2 extra Atarimax 8mb flash carts (for Atari 8bit computers) for sale. They are in perfect condition (see photo below). What makes these carts cool IMO is the ability to also save data to them, so for example you can run games like Ultima III, Ultima IV and Alternate Reality The Dungeon directly from the cart with fast loading, and it will save your game right on the cart. If you don't own an Atarimax programmer, I can copy whatever you want to the cart before shipping. I highly recommend the games I mentioned because they are especially nice to have as carts IMO (note: only one of these games can be on each cart at one time because of how they are programmed). Stores sell them individually for $40 each + shipping, so here's a chance to save some money: Buy one cart: $32 shipped in USA Buy both carts: $58 shipped in USA Paypal please. Thanks for looking at my ad. ?
