  1. I wouldn't mind getting Namco Museum 50th Aniversary or Namco Battle Collection next. If anyone's interested, here's a list of retro compilations on the next gen consoles, I'm not too sure if it's a complete list though. http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-11226_7-6386513-2.html
  2. I don't mean emu, but official ones. When out buying Liberty City Stories today I grabbed myself Sonic Gems Collection and Sonic Mega Collection +. I haven't played them yet. I'm also thinking of maybe getting some Atari collections. I'm sure playing these games on a console and on a big TV will have a much better feel than playing emus on the PC. I could get the originals, but I don't really fancy having loads of old systems and having to set them up. I've already got an old 8 bit Atari (which I used to have in my childhood) and I'm still buying games for that which I'm happy with.
  3. This is quite a coincidence, I spotted that video on youtube a coupla days ago. It's such a waste of a classic system, and that's one less out there. I think people who do this are just really sad, and I'm not just saying that because it's an A8. I mean seriously how old are they? They should be going out getting girls at their age, not smashing things up outside. Really sad.
  4. Lol, yeah, I'd love answering topics from the 80's too.
  5. I still have all my Atari User magazines (around 12) that I bought back in the day, it's a shame that most of them are really tattered now. I have two binders full of Page 6 magazines that I bought off the net back in around 2001 I think. Near enough all of them look mint.
  6. I suppose there's no point in me ripping the game then. The sound quality is never that good on my computer from ripping things anyway.
  7. I don't know how to convert it, but I could always email the mp3 to you or someone else who can convert it.
  8. I've noticed on your site that you need the original tape image for The Lone Raider. I'll be receiving the cassette in a coupla days, I could rip it and send it through PM if you want. Btw, what's the image on your site then, is it a disk image?
  9. Lone Raider. I remember playing this crazy game on my birthday party. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1
  10. I was wondering, how does the amount of games in the 8-bit's library compare to say, the PS2's or the PSone's?
  11. the "real thing" isn't cheaper than free, and they won't play cartridge games unless you also have those. I play my 8bits often, but I wouldn't say its a "lot better." Its certainly not as easy. That said, as long as you're playing it on a big old CRT, its all good. And for me on a laptop 24-7, the "real deal" plays... better. Yeah but it's still cheap, 800XL £20 to £40, and once you've got that most cassette games cost between 50p and £2. I personally think playing on the real thing feels a lot better, it's way better for nostalgia too, plus it's on a big TV and the graphics don't look as blocky as they do on an emulator. Plus it's really nice to be able to hold the real game and look at it.
  12. I'm sure someone on here will send you the files through PM or email. I don't actually have it at the moment. Anyway, why not get the real thing off ebay? It's lot better than emulation and really cheap.
  13. Yeah, I've always had a taste for the finer things in life.
  14. Well, I had read about the XE having a better picture in an Atari magazine (Page 6) where they reviewed the XE.
  15. It's supposed to have a cheaper feel to it in comparison to the other 8-bits, also the cartridge slot is in an awkward place. It is supposed to have a more sharper picture though, but you could get that by using a modified scart lead that plugs into the monitor output on the other 8-bits.
  16. Ollies Follies Donkey Kong Necromancer Moon Patrol PacMan Popeye
  17. I really want to take part in the hi score club, I've got a camera and everything. But I haven't got any of the games on the first page, and I'm not sure whether people would mind me bumping up really old topics from the past pages.
  18. I think the most technical I get is typing in a game from an old magazine. I think the upgrades are nice, but I'm not that interested in doing it myself and I'd much rather just keep my stuff original anyway. Also that's how I played it in the ol' days.
  19. I'm curious to see what my fellow A8 fans tastes are in the next gen games. I'm playing We Love Katamari, Sonic Heroes & Shadow The Hedgehog on the PS2 these days.
