  1. Where are you located (country) and what variant of the Lynx? I think it's probably about right, depending on the care/workmanship. Do you have to supply the McWill kit?
  2. All the information is here in the description: https://console5.com/store/atari-lynx-1-2-voltage-regulator-rebuild-refresh-kit-with-power-jack.html The other parts are two transistors used as part of the switching on circuit (which are common to fail) - the resistor (from memory/reading) is not so important, but is lower the the original value to allow additional bias to turn on the transistors. The PCB silk screen overlay notes the component designators - YouTube is your friend also
  3. Where are you located? There are multiple people offering repairs on various forums, though the places I know of that are operating as a business entity (such as retrofix in Australia) can be very expensive. Why was your capacitor experience bad? The alternative is you attempt repair yourself using information found on the internet, though this does require the correct tools. If you're in Australia, I'm happy to assist. From my experience, the Lynx I seems to be less problematic and more robust with longevity and repair; I've had many experiences with the Lynx II where I've been unable to fully repair the units. I'm still working through them as I refuse to accept they might be unrepairable!
  4. Mine has been delivered - but I've got a snag! My donor Lynx II now has an induced problem caused by haste and my attempt to conduct some additional repairs without a proper workshop and my usual complement of tools (I have recently moved and have the majority of my electronics stuff still at my old house)! I think I caused a bridge replacing one of the sot23 transistors and may have killed Suzy! I still have to investigate further but the unit went from flawlessly working to "Insert Game" screen. Only noticed my short after turning on the Lynx to a black screen, followed by a burning smell and the metal works feeling noticeably warm! Wo is me! Now I need to sort some spares for test/repair! 5. How'd this go? Installed yet? Mine arrives next week; I have the Lynx I with a McWill while my Lynx II will be the BennVenn. Both of these units needed screen replacements - I have my original consoles too but prefer the modded variants. I'll try to take a video of my install process and post it in the thread if anyone is interested! Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
  6. Looking forward to seeing how this progresses! I have the same system with shorted pins on VCC/GND on the same chip. Unit powers on to blank screen with excessive current draw. Totally did not know you could get replacement chips; any chance I can get one/a few? Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
