Yeah its a nice looking board... Doesnt feel like i could snap it accidentally... Worst comes to the worst i could probably sell the case for what i paid for it and add it to my rack mount project and slowly fix it over time...

Phew! I picked it up cheap as untested so i know there was a chance... Ill try the holding option thing and see what happens... How will i know what the issue is? Are there any clone boards if i need to build a new one out of the parts ill buy to test this one?

Bah... Are cpus etc replaceable?

Soooo.... Finally got all my cables... Red/Brown screen... and non of my chips are socketed... bah will need to count everything up and resocket everything, recap and go from there... hope it is just the basic module thats gone... (i read somewhere this can caues the issue and it isnt necessary?? hope thats true!) is there a cap/ parts list on here somewhere to see how much i've already got and what i need to buy? Thanks!

So the usb cables on ebay will work ok? Sweet... I'll start with one of them and get a proper psu later.. Fingers crossed it'll work! 😁

I'm originally a speccy man.. 😁 But i also have c64's.. No apple ii yet... I can do composite withbmy framemeister but will definitely be rgbing it to run on my bvm.. I was looking at the sio2sd to start with.. And maybe get a side2 later.. Decided to get the cheapest stuff to get going for testing and stuff.. I'll leave the more complicated stuff till i know its up and running! And i forgot to say cheers for the advice in the previous posts too... So cheers!

Hi chaps and chappesses! Finally got my hands on an atari 800xl.. Been after one for a while... I have a few questions about potential mods and repairs As i bought it potentially not working is there anything i need to look out for? What are common issues? Do the usb power connectors actually work? Ive seen there are ram upgrades.. Even up to 256mb.. Is there a guide how to do the upgrades? Is there a list of mods anywhere for other fun stuff? Is there a way for rgb output? (Just cause the rest of my set up is rgb) Is it posible to make your own cartridges? And is there a way to convert tape only stuff to cartridge? I'm sure theres more questions i have but i'll wait till i get it running to ask
