  1. Our old Atari computer club in Milwaukee (MilAtari) was given a couple of Lynx gaming systems back in the day when we were running MidiMaze Rings at Gencon. We'll be selling them off at the VCF Midwest in the Chicago area next weekend. There are two Lynx IIs with power blocks and a ComLynx cable and another Lynx II with the power cable, ComLynx cable, Sun screen and the padded nylon case. All three of these Lynxs are in "very good" shape. We also have an older Lynx 1 with a fair amount of wear on the case but a clean screen. There are also 24 assorted games that will be on sale too. If you are in the area check them out.
  2. What is the right mouse button usually used for with the ST? Our club built a bunch of mouse extension cords (think about 8") to use with a MidiMaze gaming ring back in the 90s. We have about 25 of these cords, but it looks like pin 9 which controls the right mouse button isn't attached. The cables were made out of dead Atari joysticks which didn't have pin 9 wired through. During the gaming events we would often have to switch out joysticks and found if we moved the computer too much it would crash requiring a rebooting of the entire ring. Since these were competition games for prizes the players weren't happy with a full ring reboot. Would they be much use as a Mouse extender without the right button functioning?
  3. I kept my boot drive small at about 15mb and made the others about 250mb (don't remember what the last one had). I believe that TOS 1.04 should be able to handle 512mb partitions. I kept them smaller so that a TOS 1.02 should be able to read them.
  4. I had an issue with my keyboard not working better after replacing the Mylar. Finally figured out that I had reattached the screws holding the keyboard together too tight. Loosened some and it now works fine.
  5. No luck, so far. I've tried the Atari HD software and the ICD software. Neither one sees the drive on the ID check programs. With the ICD software I ran it both on bootup from the disk and separately after from the A drive. Hooked up the 105MB drive and it doesn't see that either. Tried a different DB19 cable (known to work) and that didn't help. Id like to try the HDDRIVER software, but I'm not planning on keeping this unit and don't want to spend the money to buy it. I might try downloading the demo and see if that does anything. I was given the drive by a friend that used to have it on his BBS back in the day. No disks came with it. I'm trying to get this and some other Atari items ready for the Vintage Compute Fair Midwest next month. It's time to clear out some space in the basement.
  6. I found the correct jumper spot right where your picture showed. Now I'm just waiting for a new LED to replace the one that was there. The metal post that the LED was on was all corroded and looks like it damaged the LED itself. The same thing appears to have happened to the drive indicator LED. There is a topic on this from a few years back that seems to show that this was a common problem with the TTs. I ordered replacement LEDs on Amazon (didn't get the 2 day delivery that the ad showed and am still waiting on the items). The rubber grommets that I ordered came really quickly. The only problem was they came as a bag of 100 (maybe I'll make some kind of art work from all of the extras). I'll post how the replacement worked when they come. I've also made an extension from the pin spot on the motherboard since it is in a very tight to access location.
  7. The drive does appear to spin up. I can see the activity LED lighting up and hear beeps and drive access noises. I downloaded the Atari HD software and will tryt hat today. I had been using the ICD Pro software to try and see the drive. It's ID check program doesn't find the device on the DMA bus. It still has the original 20MB drive in it from what I can tell. I tried unplugging the SCSI cable from the host adapter and hooking up a 105MB Quantum SCSI drive. Just got some beeps and it didn't appear to see the drive either. Once again, maybe using the Atari HD software will help. I watched a video on Youtube that showed using a boot disk to access and format the drive. i don't have an Atari boot disk. I'll play around with it and let you know if I have any success. I'm guessing that the drive may have been wiped and needs to be reformatted and partitioned before it's usable. It would be great if the SCSI adapter in the case was able to take the larger drive.
  8. My case is a 4 bay case. Originally bought it with a single 105MB SCSI drive and 3 unused bays ($600 at the time). It now has the Zulu SCSI card, CDRW drive, 105MB Syquest drive and I put a floppy drive (dirve B) in the 4th bay with it's own cable. I used the compact Zulu card but should have purchased the standard RP2040 model. With the compact card you can't choose terminated or non-terminated (Terminated only). Not a big deal I just made it the last item on the chain. The standard card can be purchased with a 3.5" faceplate which would allow you too have the SD card easily removable. Also the standard card allows you to set the parity. It also has a header for an LED activity light. On the Atari ST the card is used in pass-through mode. This means it is just seen as a standard SCSI device. Mine works with power from the SCSI cable, but I ordered the Berg connector just to be sure. Not sure if the SCSI ID can be changed (mine was set to ID1) but the ICD pro software allowed me too set it as the boot drive. Read and write are nice and fast. If you are using software like HDDRIVER you might be able to set up the SD card on a PC or MAC instead of having to rely on the ICD software. Overall I'm very happy with the result. Here is the link to the company that I purchased mine from https://store.rabbitholecomputing.com/ZuluSCSI-RP2040-p/zuluscsi-rp2040.htm
  9. Is there any way to upgrade a SH204 Hard drive unit to a larger SCSI drive? I can't tell if the unit is starting up. I tried running the ICD Pro software and it doesn't see the drive.
  10. I didn't check where the power LED plugs into the TT computer motherboard when I opened it up. Can anyone post a picture or a description of where the power LED plugs into the motherboard? If it matters, the motherboard appears to be a revision 199u.
  11. It did work. Now the case has a 1gb drive, CDRW, 105mb Syquest drive and a floppy drive (floppy drive B). All working.
  12. Second question. Is there a good place to get an image file to use with the SD card?
  13. I'm trying to mount a Zulu SCSI compact controller card in a Multi-bay hard drive case. I have a small 105mb drive in there now. The case has an ICD ADSCSI+ controller in it. When I connect the Zulu SCSI and run the ICD IDCHECK program the Zulu comes up as drive #1. I was told that it sounds like the Zulu is in raw passthrough mode. I'm having trouble finding how to change the Zulu to read as drive #0. Is it possible to boot from a device listed as Drive #1? I've been using the ICD software since that is what I've always used in the past. I'm probably going to sell this case at some point and don't want to pay for HDDriver if I can avoid it.
  14. Any Atari ST parts? I'd like to get my hands on the female 14 pin din connector. I have a 4 bay hard drive case that I'm updating and would like to mount a floppy drive in one of the bays. I have a 6' cable that I could cut the end off of and put a 34 pin floppy plug on the end but hate to cut up a good floppy cable.
  15. Thanks Kodak80. I had tried the drag to Trash and it didn't work. Using the Install Disk Drive way did allow me to remove the drive. Hard to believe that I used to know all of this stuff years ago.
  16. How do I remove partition icons from the desktop of partitions that no longer exist? I had three drives hooked up to the system and removed one. Each drive had 4 partitions. I now have eight working partitions and the last 4 come back with "drive does not exist".
  17. OK, another question. What is the best way to get the Anodyne programs from my PC to the ST? I do have a 3.5" floppy drive in one of my older computers but don't think that it will read to ST formatted disks. I'm using ICD Pro 6.5.5 for the hard drive controller.
  18. Will this adapter work with more than one device in the chain like the old ICD ADSCSI card? I'm asking because I built a MegaST into an IBM case (with an ADSCSI mounted in it). It would be easier to use an adapter like this for the multiple drives and then I'd have the ADSCSI card for other projects.
  19. Thanks that should help alot. I'll have to check to see if I'm running one of the programs to let me access the drive.
  20. Are there any CDs that came out for the Atari ST line? I know that I have a CD-ROM drive in my Atari hard drive case but can't remember if I had any CDs that worked with it. If I did they must be mixed in with all of my old PC CDs.
  21. Thanks to both of you for the information. I was surprised that the person that I got this from hadn't updated it (his S/O gave it to me after he passed away).
  22. Here are some shots of the motherboard with the TOS chips and the Atari Revision number.
  23. Is there a way to identify the type of TOS in a STFM by the labeling on the chips? I have a motherboard that was removed from a non-operating ST that has the 6 ROM TOS. I'm guessing that it is TOs 1.04 but can't run SysInfo since it is just the MB.
