  1. I'm not familiar with the SC3000, but... The S pad on the daughterboard does not provide composite video. It only provide a composite sync signal, which is horizontal sync and vertical sync mixed together. How did the daughterboard break? Hopefully it didn't take any other components with it. If you remove the daughterboard and reinstall the 9918 video chip, does the stock video work? If you are certain that the TMS-RGB board is bad, why not just get a replacement? https://tms-rgb.com/install.html
  2. Hello! I have an rev 6a Amiga 500 with a Romulator Kickstart ROM adapter and a TF536 installed. I'm trying to install a MiniADF, designed by Piotr Gozdur, into my machine. It is not working properly. The unit is v1.0 with v 0.6 firmware. The SD card is formatted FAT32, as required. I have a few ADFs on the SD card. The display on the MiniADF is working, and I can scroll through the files and select them without an issue. If I have the internal floppy drive connected instead of the MiniADF, the floppy drive works fine. If the floppy power cable is connected to the MiniADF when I turn on the Amiga, no FDD is detected at all. If I leave it unplugged until after the machine has started booting from my hard drive, it detects a FDD but the DF0: is always unreadable. (AmigaTestKit image below). It does not matter which Kickstart ROM I use... (1.3, 3.1, 3.x or 3.2). Does anyone have any experience with the MiniADF? Does anyone know how I can contact Piotr Gozdur? Any suggestions on what I should do next?
  3. When I power on my Atari 600XL with SIDE3 inserted, the switch on the front of the cartridge has no effect. I always end up in SpartaDOS X. From when I've read, when in the UP position, I should be going to the SIDE3 Loader. This machine has a U1MB installed, as well as a FujiNet on the SIO port. U1MB is currently set to start SpartaDOS X. If I set the U1MB to start the Loader instead, it always goes into the Loader, regardless of the switch position. If I disable both settings, then I end up in the FujiNet setup. I don't see any relevant settings in the SIDE3 Loader screens. Is there a way to set this up so that this switch chooses between the SIDE3 Loader and SpartaDOS X?
  4. Thanks for the info. I was able to get my partitions set up and working easily!
  5. I've an Atari 600XL with U1MB and SIDE3 cartridge. I've updated the firmware on the SIDE3 to the beta and have been trying to figure out the best way to set up my 16GB SD card in the SIDE3. Before updating I had a 4GB SD card (still OK). The first partition is 256MB FAT (524288 sectors of 512 bytes) as DN: (read only in SpartaDOS with FATFS.SYS). The second partition is 3.5GB and contains four 32MB partitions (65535 sectors of 512 bytes) as D5: though D8:. 7079870 sectors (3.6GB) are unused. With the new SIDE3 Loader, what is the best way to set up a new 16GB SD card? Is there a way to boot to CLI.XEX instead of SpartaDOS? Should I even want to do this? I also noticed that in FDISK I can create a 4GB FAT16 partition. Can SpartaDOS use this? The new Loader look great! I'm looking forward to it being finalized and all the new features being available! Thanks!
  6. Well, I filled the new card and now it is experiencing the same issue as before. I will ZIP an image of it and post here later today.
  7. I don't remember the firmware version, but I think it's 1.24. There are no dates on the version on the Pi1541 website, so it's hard to guess when they came out. Option B design. I was going to share an image of the whole SD card, so I just made up a small one using some of the files from my original SD card. For some reason, this new card is working with 1541-II DOS and 1541-II JiffyDOS. Either the original SD card is failing somehow, or the Pi1541 is being corrupted by one of the files that I didn't move to the new card. Bottom line is that I think I found the fix (Use a fresh SD card). I'm currently building a new SD card with all the same software as the original.
  8. I have a flat C128 machine with a JiffyDOS C128 and C64 kernel. I don't have the stock kernel, unfortunately. Connected to this machine is a Pi1541, using a Pi 3B+. If I put the stock 1541 ROM onto the Pi1541, everything works as it should. Programs load properly (even Ghosts & Goblins), but at stock 1541 speeds. If I place a JiffyDOS 1541 ROM image on the Pi1541, most of my attempts to load a file, or even get a directory listing fail with corrupted data. I assume the issue is with the Pi1541, but could be the JiffyDOS ROM that I have installed. I don't have any EPROMs I can use to try and create another EPROM, unfortunately. I have tried multiple power supplies and multiple serial cables. Are there any common issues on the Pi1541 that could corrupt data like in the second photo below? This is with the 1541 ROM on the Pi1541: and this is with the JiffyDOS 1541 ROM on the Pi1541:
  9. Since I had nothing for U36 I burned a GEOS 128 v2 EPROM. It does not work. I just get a junk bitmap screen. This is with a GEOS C128 v2 disk mounted in my Pi1541 and 64k of VDG memory.
  10. So I programmed the same EPROM with the same data, twice over (no erasing). It verified fine each time, so I installed back into the C128 and now it works. I guess I had some weak bits on the chip.
  11. So... I have tried out the DiskMaster ROM in my C128, but it reports that the 1541 drive is not supported. Very odd. Might be my Pi1541 though. I've just tried The Servant, but it messes with the JiffyDOS F keys. I don't find the Servant F key functions nearly as useful. If I ever get a mouse for the C128, then I might give GEOS a try. I see something called the Antigrav toolkit, but no details or downloads for it. Are there any other disk utilities that can go in U36? Basically, I'm just looking for something I can get to quickly if I need to copy files or disks in a pinch.
  12. I have a flat C128. I recently burned an EPROM with a copy of Diskmaster v3.27 on it and installed it into U36 on my C128. It did work the first couple of times I tried it out. Holding CONTROL when turning on the machine should start Diskmaster in 40 column mode. For some reason, when I hold CONTROL, the machine just boots to C128 mode like the EPROM wasn't there. The CONTROL key works when I'm typing at the command line. I've pulled the EPROM and verified that the data is not corrupted. Is there any reason that Diskmaster wouldn't start when holding CONTROL?
  13. I have an Atari 600XL with U1MB, SIDE3, FujiNet and Sophia2. I also have a 1050 drive attached to the system. Today, I added a DIY US Doubler to my 1050 drive. It seems to work fine. I'm able to format double density disks and copying files works without issues... But... (and it's probably just a coincidence)... Suddenly I am not able to read my D8: hard disk partition. This is the partition I boot from, and have all my software stored on. I recently did a lot of organization on this drive, so my last backup is of no use. This partition has been working fine for months. If I try to do a DIR, I get an unknow filesystem error. Running FDISK, the partition name for the FAT partition and the D8: partition appears to be garbage. The flags appear to be correct. The D8: partition was created with FDISK and uses the SpartaDOS filesystem. I am able to see my D7: hard disk partition without issues, which is on the same SD card and APT partition as D8:. If I put the SD card into my PC, the FAT filesystem seems fine as well. Does this sound like I'm screwed, or is there a way that I might recover my D8: ???
  14. Just curious... I've built the DIY Doubler and it seems to be working fine. I can format SSDD diskettes at 180K. Now I have some questions... With your patched rom on my Tandon drive and using SpartaDOS... - should I be formatting using a normal skew or the ultra skew? - should "Optimize" be enabled? - does this allow me to increase the SIO speed used to communicate with the drive? Thanks!
  15. Turns out that my EPROM burner is faulty. Fortunately I have one for my Atari ST that worked.
  16. Grrr... Looks like I just got burned for the first time with fake chips on eBay. The M2732A chips that I received scan as blank by my EPROM programmer, but fail when I try to program them and stay blank. Programming voltage is 21v, as on the chip and in the program. ?
  17. Thank you! The ROM is downloaded and waiting for my 2732 EPROMs and 6810 RAM to arrive. No issue here doubling up the chips. I don't have plans to restore the drive to stock if it works find with the USD installed. Thanks again!
  18. Very nice... Uploaded to Thingiverse?
  19. I want to do the US Doubler mod to my 1050 drive. I have no issue doing the RAM piggyback due to the excellent photos I've found here. I can also burn the requisite 2732 EPROM. What I don't know is, what code should I be putting onto the EPROM? If it matters, this is a U1MB 600XL with FujiNet. I run a recent version of SpartaDOS. Where can I find the code to put onto the EPROM?
  20. Actually, it's even easier than that. Just push the plastic rivet out on the SIO connector and use that hole to mount the U1MB!
  21. I just picked up an Atari 1050 disk drive. It's working well, but has see better days. The metal label strip across the top of the drive is scratched and blemished. Can that strip be refurbished at all? If not, does it come off the drive cleanly and are there replacements available? Because of the condition of the drive I'm considering a repaint (or dye?), but not sure what color scheme I should go with... If it looks good I may repeat it on my Atari 600XL as well. Any suggestions?
  22. The U1MB fits OK into the 600XL by using one of the holes holding the SIO port into place. The shield won't go back on afterward, of course, but you don't need to drill anything. I will post pictures when I do my installation.
  23. That looks like just what I need... but $26 shipping for a $20 part isn't fun, and I don't need anything else that Lotharek has.
