  1. Aha, Etsy to the rescue once again. I'll order the AV cable, badge, and usb power cable on monday, then when it all arrives, we'll see if she lives or not. 😛
  2. I do have two game cartridges for it. A friend of mine gave them to me when she gave me an NTSC Super Nintendo, and a few Atari 2600, and 7800 cartridges. They were from an XE they had ,but supposedly most games are cross compatible for 400/800/XE?
  3. Oh, that was surprisingly simple for the power supply and display cable. ^^ Yeah, I know of the C 64 issue, and why you should be wary to even use an original PSU on a C 64 - they rot, badly. And once rotted, will easily fry the system once plugged in. I'm waiting to buy a proper new PSU for the C 64 I got for that reason, don't want to risk ruining it. Thanks so much for the link to the thread, I guess in all my excitement of finding something entirely new to me, I might have overlooked that one, among the pinned posts, haha. 😂 Oh, one more potentially stupid question. Will the 7800 "NES" lookalike controllers work on it?
  4. This is mine, that i found in a second hand shop here in Norway. Looking at the first post, it seems to be PAL. But I could be wrong.
  5. Sorry, I tried searching if there was a thread where people could post their systems, etc. But couldn't really find any. It was a 200 Norwegian kroner ($20) find in a second hand shop. It's just the computer itself, no PSU, no display cables, and no joysticks. There's a small blemish, it's missing the Atari logo, and model badge on the front. I need to buy the first two - third Is allright, I have joysticks from my Atari 2600, 7800, and Commodore 64. One thing I'm wondering though, which market is this from? Is it from the US, here in Europe (Norway specifically), or Asia ( hey, don't laugh. I once bought a Hong Kong market Sega Megadrive in Oslo) Will it only work with 120 volts, or will it work with a PSU for a 240 volts home grid? I'm very new to Atari computers, so I don't know much. I'm a bit more familiar with the consoles.
  6. Just tested it, and it does indeed work. video_2021-03-28_22-33-31.mp4
  7. Thanks a lot, that's definitely helpful!
  8. Here's one I got today. ? It's my first 7800, though I do have a 2600 jr already. With the owners manual in Norwegian it seems to be one that was actually sold here, at least. So that's pretty cool! It also has the original box. Serial: X1094 003244
  9. I paid 2000 Norwegian kroner, €196, it's about what it would cost to import one from Ebay, with shipping and customs in mind (and probably with less games.)
  10. Most consoles will have games that aren't great. I have looked through videos such as this though:So I have some idea of what I wanna get for it in the future ?
  11. I bought it off a local seller, because of the whole Covid situation we had to do it on the parking lot outside my apartment building. Him placing the box down on the ground, me sending payment via Vipps (Norwegian payment app). And then him getting back in the car, and leaving before I approached the box. 2021, make every transaction look like a drug deal... ? Anyhow, this is the European model, so it has the controllers that are a bit more similar to the NES and Master system controller layout, than the more typical joystick which the 1986 American release got, the year before. I haven't tried it yet, but here's hoping it works. Seller included two NES games in addition to the 2600 and 7800 games. This is now my second Atari console, as I have a 2600 Jr which I bought last year.
  12. Haha, glad it's just the glue then, I was worried it might be mold or something! I'm just starting out on Atari stuff (Though I have other retro systems such as SNES, NES, Famicom, Megadrive etc) so its's a fun learning experience with all the quirks that come with the systems and the games.
  13. Nice, thank you. Mine seems a little worn too. I just got it yesterday together with an Atari 2600 Jr. it's not horrid but it might need a replacement label eventually.
  14. Hi there, I just bought my first 2600 yesterday: Atari 2600 Jr Format: PAL ( I think, I'm not entirely sure though) Made in: Taiwan By Atari Taiwan Manufacturing Corporation Serial number: A1 784234656 I'm not really sure I follow how these S/N's work. So if anyone has any info on that, feel free to tell. ?
