  1. I washed them for longer than I played. (And I washed them before playing too!)
  2. Hockey - 17 goals, silver! For this challenge you want a team with a good goalie and great shot stats, and you want to play against a team with a bad goalie but good offense. I have found playing as Minnesota against Chicago to be best on average. Toronto's scorer misses the puck way too much for comfort. If you haven't gotten into this one yet, the controls are simple. Just press on the d-pad in the direction you want to either hit or catch/block the puck with the right timing. I have found for some reason that shooting down works as well as any other direction. Mostly I have scored goals down and mid-right, with the occasional high goal and the odd one down and to the left. Also, if you are going to lose anyway, try to let them rack up as many goals as you can!
  3. Sadly this is unplayable on Analogue Pocket because you can't tell where you are. 7115 to start.
  4. Will work on this soon. Maybe to this soundtrack. https://starcastles.bandcamp.com/track/cosmic-chasm
  5. Absolutely. It's awesome. If you haven't played a bump combat game (or haven't in a while) it may seem strange, but stick with it and you will fall in love.
  6. You should start tracking your time to put together the weekly stats on a new platform: Excel
  7. Apple iOS: Galaxy Mix - 31 min Puzzlejuice - 21 min Arcade: Bubble Bobble - 10 min Crazy Taxi - 10 min Outrun 2 - 10 min Point Blank - 4 min Point Blank 3 - 10 min Puzzle Bobble - 3 min The most concern I have ever had about playing an arcade game. (Look at the surroundings carefully.) Tapper - 10 min Timber - 15 min Tumblepop - 126 min Finished the game, as I tend to do when I sit down to play it. Also got an acceptably high score for my high score challenge. Atari 2600: Centipede - 105 min Commodore 64: Sword of Fargoal - 94 min Nintendo 64: Conker's Bad Fur Day - 45 min Frustrating as heck but definitely a lot of fun. One of these days I will play the Xbone port. Nintendo Switch: Deep Diving Adventures - 15 min As many problems as I have with Endless Ocean Luminous, playing this made me realize how many things it did right. This isn't a bad game but it is a real pain in the butt in terms of simply moving around in the water. Endless Ocean Luminous - 570 min I am sad to say that this is a hollow shell of a game compared to its predecessors, but even so, taken on its own terms it is pretty fun. Recommended only if you really like underwater life (especially the prehistoric kind) and atmospheres. Hypnospace Outlaw - 100 min Playing through this marvelous and all too familiar adventure for the second time. Koral - 25 min Very fun simple side scrolling exploration game. Needed a break after the more immersive diving games. Tetris 99 - 20 min Unlocked the Endless Ocean Luminous skin, which might be my favorite skin yet for the game. It's available by getting 100 Tetris Maximus points by the end of the month (ish) - don't miss it! Sega Genesis: Battle Squadron - 35 minutes It is a very poor shooter but I can't say I didn't enjoy it.
  8. It's up to you. But carlsson works hard for our enjoyment so we owe it to him to make it easy for him.
  9. You may have saved your game before stats started counting?
  10. What I mean is carlsson is running the numbers tomorrow and if you want more than five minutes per game counted you got to do as Romans do.
  11. I love The Castle (aka Castlequest NES) and think people are really unfair to it.
  12. Codemasters in stock at Amazon US for $20! International shipping available! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092BPTTRM
  13. Very cool! I was kind of hoping for the 7800 version but I am glad to have it.
  14. I've never lit a $50 bill on fire either but I know some of y'all have done both.
  15. A not insignificant part of the value proposition of the Evercade for me is playing 2600, C64, MSX, and Amiga on the throne.
  16. Je me souviens, like they say in Quebec (about the Nordiques). Honestly I was just pandering to @Songbird, haha.
  17. Going in early. Atari 2600: Centipede - 280 min Atari Lynx: Hockey - 15 min Loopz - 10 min Commodore 64: Firelord - 15 min Sword of Fargoal - 65 min Uridium - 60 min Nintendo DS: Nanostray 2 - 23 min Nintendo Entertainment System: Mermaids of Atlantis - 128 min Nintendo Switch: Endless Ocean Luminous - 15 min Super Impulse Tiny/Micro Arcade: The Oregon Trail Micro Arcade - 15 minutes
  18. Well, that got weird at the end, ha. @ZeroPage Homebrew and @Songbird talked about this subject last week in the context of Microvaders: And I wanted to point out that we are playing yet another retail library tate mode game in the High Score Challenge this month, the underrated Hockey. Apparently all y'all need to join in so you remember that it exists
  19. Here are my initial competition scores: Loopz - 16140, 32 loopz Played with the original prototype release to see if it felt different at all. It seems close enough to qualify. Hockey - 11 goals Won a fight... no I am not proud.
  20. You should start the game by making the biggest loop possible. Leave some room inside for smaller loops, but go wild. You do get a bonus for clearing the playfield entirely, try to get that at least once early on. The pieces appear in approximately this order: - 1 block - 1 corner - 3 block - 3 corner - U block - L block and reverse - S block and reverse - the eraser - Z block and reverse Later on you have to leave room for the big Z piece - that's the real tough one. The most important thing later on is to not be greedy - the eraser is really random and you can get loads of them or none at all.
  21. I think the major divide is between killing all the enemies vs collecting all the things.
  22. I remember Bubble Bobble existing from my earliest gaming memories, but I didn't really start to love it until a few years ago. For some reason this style of game has become among my favorites. The point about simultaneous two-player play is a great one.
  23. Lode Runner isn't one of these; but its progenitor Space Panic is: And its direct predecessor Heiankyo Alien is too: Maybe Heiankyo Alien is the earliest non-shooter game where you have to eliminate all of the enemies? After all it predates Pac-Man.
