  1. Hey, it’s handy! Those Jag games can get pricey... or did you mean the transparent plastic XD
  2. Need to quickly move out of my parents house and these are sadly among the assets being liquidated. Venmo, Cashapp or PayPal preferred payment methods. You will have to pay shipping because I do not have any money ? Both less than a year removed from being new and have been stored in a cool, dry, dark box. Covid stimulus impulse purchase liquidation sale, offer me an amount you think would be fair & can afford- if you do, it is yours. Jaguar Cart has 8 games, most of them are good and it can be re-programmed to your favorites if you have the know-how. Everdrive is an Everdrive. What you see is what you will get.
  3. Whoa! What the heck is that for???
  4. If you’re not opposed to trusting a stranger on the internet, I have a spare that I’d be happy to let go to a good home, for however much you can pay and ship it for.
  5. I’ve had this absolute unit for about ten years now, believe it or not but I got everything pictured and more for 40$ from a dude with no arms and legs having a garage sale out of his mobile home in Clearwater, Florida. Damned good times!
  6. Looks like fun, I am also not on Facebook but would like to participate. “No purchase necessary” being traditional in American contest fare, I think it would be reasonable but if not that’s okay.
  7. Oh something like that would be perfect for when we wake up in the morning and have something on while we hang out waking up together
  8. Fascinating! Thank you so much ♥️
  9. Update: I did take her to the store to look at the unit but she was not feeling well and wasn’t really impressed/focused on what I was saying. I was gonna load up some ROMs for her to try, thinking of including Ladybug, the Cabbage Patch kid game and maybe one other that’s easy to pick up and play. Taking suggestions! I’ll post a reply here if I make any progress that way.
  10. I know of one nearby that I could acquire, did you have a price in mind or should I let you know?
  11. I might have this with my ST at my parents’ house, leaving post so I remember to check whenever I go next.
  12. I am looking at an original console just because there is one near me, and we’ve talked about going in halfsies on consoles before. She likes games that tickles her brains, so lots of sim games and puzzlers but if there’s a platformer like Braid for example that can scratch the noggin she enjoys it whatever the genre may be.
  13. I had looked at the Cabbage one, it seemed really sweet to look at but also appeared to be a children’s game, I fret that it might seem patronizing for a person coming in relatively cold. Maybe I’ll hang on to that one if she starts to grow fond of the machine ?
  14. So I know of/have the Dreamcast Fishing Rod, light gun (& memory card gun dongle!) keyboard, mouse, and of course the VMU. Are there any other obscure/poorly documented add-ons that haven’t been documented to death? I’m curious!
  15. Well, yeah, I just wanted some advice from people who love this system on why it’s worth investing some love into.
  16. What are a good first five 5200 games that would be engrossing for someone who’s never played/is unfamiliar with Atari consoles of that time period?
  17. No, things are pretty good! Stable enough that we can at least invest in a ColecoVision together ?
  18. It’s been a bad year overall for the world and people living on it but in spite of the dreadful everything I had a lot of good experiences peppered in and I think in hindsight, it’s not going to seem so bad. But I also don’t want that to come from 2021 being even worse.-. So let’s all make that the path not taken!
  19. I would love to make a documentary about the 7800 one day, put some production value in to get the old girl the mainstream attention& limelight she deserves. My little baby dates from the ‘83 launch and was originally the property of a chronically bedridden relative, purchased for them to relieve boredom and then... its brand was gone from shelves here for years ? thank goodness it played 2600 games and he liked those just as well for his sake (& mine!)
  20. I’ve never heard this before, but I’m not at all surprised to discover yet another burrow in the endless rabbit hole that is the 7800.
  21. Howdy! Longtime lurker, first time poster. I hope this isn’t too “Reddit” of a discussion topic but I genuinely feel I needed a higher echelon of dedication to/knowledge of the console. I am a lifelong retro gamer, (thanks Uncle Fred!) and I like to share my hobby with my girlfriend in the hopes that a game will stick and get her deeper into the hobby with me. She’s stated that she would like to go halfsies with me on retro consoles with me but doesn’t want to just throw money at whichever retro bee is burning my bonnet that week. Which brings me to the ColecoVision. It’s been for sale at my adored local game store all year, for 90$ in a semi-crappy box with a controller. I’m enthralled by it but I know GF would be less than impressed by the external look. I have played a lot of Intellivision and Atari 2600/7800, but I’ve never played or collected ColecoVision. What are some good points to bring when I suggest it to her? I’ve got a few lined up but I don’t feel like they tip the scales. Pros: Not very expensive Novel experience They also have an assortment of games we could try (I can go back and check them out but there were quite a few today) Cons: Box is kinda crappy Weird controller ”but, why this one tho” Final notes about gf: she likes cute games, funky weird unique things, and simulation games. Doesn’t have a lot of patience to figure games out, likes them to just work or at least be immediately engaging. picture is the unit in question, Intellivision seen next to it has sadly been sold
