I experienced this summer playing my Mega Drive on an LCD (because it is more portable) on an event, and was shocked how my Mega Drive games suddenly looked like mediocre Master System.^^ So without a CRT, the Meister is godsent. A friend of mine has it, and it delivers what it promises. But hard to justify if you have a CRT

It just too damn much! Maybe I'm just getting old and don't have the time and patience anymore. When I think back over the last 30+ years it seems like the 16-bit systems had a good balance. The three buttons on the Geneses seemed to be enough to add some depth while still keeping the games fairly simple.

Another review, another one I can't agree on. SA being one of the "all time greats"... oh dear. It was a technical achievement, and probably as good as a version of Sonic you can do in 3D unless you lower the speed (making Sonic pointless), but it is still so heavily flawed that it can't hold a candle to any of the 2D Sonics. In a 5 point scoring system, I'd give it a 2,5 or 3 max

I strongly disagree with this review. Shinobi on the SMS is pretty awesome. Ninja Gaiden wins in the bosses, speed and story department, but Shinobi wins in audio, graphics and game design. The soundtrack is pretty memorable contrary to what the video says; can't say I remember a single NG track though. And the game design is better because Shinobi is just not so much focused on memorization. NG you have to memorize to get anywhere, Shinobi is designed around always giving you a fair chan...
