  1. No actually the Xbox finally beat the PS1 for the month of January. Heheh, I like all systems but I dig it when ol' Bill Gates gets a pie in the face now and then. Link: http://www.planetps2.com (click on the Gamecube or Xbox planet links in the upper left corner if you like those systems). Japanese Hardware Sales (01/26) 18:48 | Talon | Rounding off another day comes the latest Japanese hardware sales charts from Media Create. Covering the week ending January 26th, the latest charts show PlayStation 2 back in the lead with 46,800 units, with Game Boy Advance following with 29,500 units. As per usual, GameCube and Xbox followed with 9,300 and 6,700 units respectively, with the increase to 6,700 for Xbox likely attributed to strong Xbox Live sales coupled with Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball sales. Check out the full charts below. PlayStation 2: 46,800 (Annual: 448,000) Game Boy Advance: 29,500 (Annual: 555,100) GameCube: 9,300 (Annual: 136,000) Xbox: 6,700 (Annual: 26,800) PSOne: 1,800 (Annual: 16,700) Wonder Swan Crystal: 980 (Annual: 8,400) Game Boy Color: 790 (Annual: 5,900) Wonder Swan Color: 340 (Annual: 6,800)
  2. I heard there was a Montezuma's Revenge and a Rambo game for SMS. True? If so was Montezuma like the old Atari/Coleco/C64 versions?
  3. Check Gamestop.com I ordered one the other day and it shipped.
  4. Wow, great comments! I haven't that many good things about this game. All the magazines and webites I've been to say its pretty bad, but what do they know huh? Every one has there own opinion. Hmmm, I love classic games but I hated all the remakes that have come out over the years. But I'll definitely rent this one and try it out.
  5. I have those as well. The Ultima collection CD is really good since all the hintbooks, manuals, box art and reference cards are scanned and included on the CD.
  6. Exult ran perfect on Windows 98. I had a blast playing Ultima VII in Windows using Exult. (Although I did not enjoy VII as much as the first five Ultima's) On XP it still works but on my system the sound is a bit goofy, perhaps because I have an older SB awe64. I haven't found MP3's of the music. I do have the sid files for the older games. and for the record, I have finished every Ultima except 6 and 8. Yes I struggled through the buggy Ultima 9 all the way to the end.
  7. swordquest. I had no clue what was going on with this game back in 1983. I still don't understand it.
  8. This is the best page that I like to visit for Ultima. Check out the second link and download updates (mainly graphical updates) for all the Ultima games. Website: http://reconstruction.voyd.net/ Ultima better graphics etc: http://reconstruction.voyd.net/index.php?p...t&type=upgrades Ultima III and IV are really good enhancements but I've had trouble with the music since I'm running Windows XP.
  9. Just want a system and two controllers in clean and working condition. Don't need power supplies games or anything else. (I'll even take one controller) My Coleco recently went bust and I have no way of playing the games I have. I'm sick of seeing boxed or LOT sets on Ebay for 50 to 200 bucks and I though I'd ask here. PM me thanks
  10. Rygar is great. So is Final Fantasy X Suikoden III Devil May Cry Grand Theft Auto and the plethora of classic PS1 titles you can play on the system. Only one thing to say.....stop bashing systems. Its stupid. Every system has its better points (or good games) and low points (or bad games). Buy all three systems and play the games you like. Just like me. Or if money is the issue, pick a system and ignore the others like I did a few years ago. (10 years from now all of us will love all three systems) THE END
  11. Holy Cripes! I didn't think there were that many oldie computer RPGer's over here! Its good to know people still remember Ultima. I see many websites out there for it but not too many get updated anymore. (Especially since Garriott left and gave it up to Origin years ago....... except for his alter-ego of course ) III and IV are my favs. (Ultima IV being the best CRPG I've ever played. Timeless for me.) V was great but I agree, it was too damn hard! II was very good. (man, I haven't played the Apple version in years!!!) Ahhh, memoriesssss (Albert, don't worry, I had the cloth maps hung up on my walls for a while too! )
  12. Anyone here ever play Ultima, the old computer RPG series? (Apple/C64 and later on for the PC?) If so, what was your favorite? Mine is still Ultima III and IV. Its too bad what happened with this series later on, but I still remember the ungodly amounts of hours I spent playing these games back in the 80's (and early 90's.)
  13. Nintendo made the kids toy mistake when the N64 came out. They said it themselves. They wanted to market it to a younger audience (although I can't remember where I read it so many years ago so I can't prove it.) I think they realized the error a bit too late. They also made the mistake to sticking with the cartridge format rather than the then popular CD format the Saturn and Playstation was using. In my mind the N64 was the killer mistake that crippled Nintendo and they have not since been able to recover. I love and respect Nintendo and have a Gamecube, but thats how I see it. I simply made up my mind that whoever has the best and most interesting games is the console I want and so far PS2 and Gamecube are the ones I have bought. I'll have to wait and see what Microsoft does with XBOX 2, that could be the first Microsoft console I buy.
  14. 3 consoles with the same games on all of them?! How long will this go on?!?? I'm sick of it. I hope someone creates a console thats light years ahead of anyone else and is actually......different. (In some way I don't know). Who will do this? I think only Sony or Microsoft can. Nintendo (who I'll always appreciate) will continue with Metroid, Mario, Pokemon and Starfox sequels for the next 45 years. I guess what I'm getting at is I hope someone stands out and completely dominates in more ways than what the PS2 has done. I don't care who it is, I just don't want to see the same damn games on all systems like it is today.
  15. Megamania is my all-time fav. Demon Attack is cool too. Activision seemed to have the best shooters....
  16. Camera angles don't bother me at all. why? Cause the first popular 3D games to have "camera angles" were Tomb Raider and Alone in the Dark. If you played those games a lot back then, the camera angles today are a godsend. By the way, Rygar and Devil May Cry both kick butt. I've never played better action games. (other than maybe Contra and some other platform games). My diskarmor is bugging me, it wants me to play a little more Rygar..... before Devil May Cry 2 comes out.
  17. Great game! I used to play this game to death.
  18. Kings Quest was more of an adventure game than an RPG But .. I really dig RangerG's basic set D&D pic. Brings back fond memories of playing a simple game of D&D without a million rules, and just having fun making things up and kicking Ogre butt. Ahh, too be young and carefree again and play videogames and D&D every day.... Dorky me
  19. I believe there were two versions of the first King's Quest. The later version having improved graphics. They were cute puzzle solving games. Pick one up if its cheap. Its still rather fun to play...
  20. Intellivision always came across to me as that rich kids system. The system that no matter what, was always better than anyone elses, including todays systems according to a select crazed few. I think I started getting annoyed with the George Plimpton TV commercial comparing it to Atari. How lame was that? Screw them I'm sick of it all. (Ok, here come the flames at me....but be gentle please. afterall I do own an Intellivision )
  21. Is it me or did the Colecovision versions of these games were more fun or just as fun as the original arcade game? (Space Panic, Frogger, Gorf, Burger Time etc....)
  22. I also fell victim to these mindless zombie's that work there. These no-life phantoms that drift like unknowing slugs. Because of this, one day I made up my mind to NEVER enter a Radio Shack store unless I know exactly what I wanted and needed it badly. Then I slap myself and order it over the internet. (not all stores are like this but ALL of them are within a 40 mile radius where I live.)
  23. I used to love this system. Anyone kind enough to list their favorites? It would be cool to read. Mine are: Venture Wargames Cosmic Avenger Miner 2049er Lady Bug B.C.'s Quest for Tires Tarzan 2010 Antarctic Adventure Smurf Rescue I like a lot more games on this system but I think I like the above the best. (I used to play Wargames to death!)
  24. I might be forgetting something but here's mine in no particular order: Pitfall 2 Pitfall Magamania Kaboom Cosmic Ark H.E.R.O Demon Attack Return of the Jedi Frostbite Kangaroo
  25. Cripes! I haven't heard of those. I must try them! Thanks
