  1. Big Sky Trooper has an RPGish feel to it, mostly the overhead action-adventure type
  2. Illusion of Gaia is one of my favorites on the system! It features some huge sprites and crazy good music. Replaying it today, the game’s weaknesses seem far more obvious: there is 0 exploration (hell you can’t even backtrack if you wanted to) and some plot elements seem weak/forced just to get the game moving. But getting through the game is still a blast. Soul Blazer lets the player re-visit all locations even if there isn’t much point. Super good game and it doesn’t overstay its welcome. Act Raiser 1/2 have been discussed at length and I share Tanooki’s opinion on both. Robotrek is fun but I can never stay committed to it. Maybe one day. This thread now makes me want to try Brainlord. Never played it. Has anyone mentioned The 7th Saga? Too cryptic and primitive for my tastes that’s for sure. and And AND OGRE BATTLE GUYS!!! 100% absolute must play!
  3. Here are some lesser-mentionned suggestions! Operation Logic Bomb (overhead shooter) Soldier of Fortune (overhead shooter ONLY if you can do 2P coop) Realm (shooter platformer) Kid Klown in Crazy Chase (Kwirky Arcadey) Tin Star (lightgun/crosshair shooter) Super Tennis Smartball (platformer) Super Return of the Jedi (the easier of the 3)
  4. Sim City on the SNES is an absolute classic and whoever forgot to include it on the SNES Classic Mini should be sent right to jail.
  5. I didn’t buy a SNES as much as I received it for Christmas. There were Super Mario World commercials on TV that made me froth at the mouth. My parents had gotten us a NES for Christmas in 1987 so I guess they figured it was just a logical thing to follow that up with the newer console when it came out. And Super Mario World remains a favorite of mine to this day.
  6. I checked it out and it looks good! The draw distance is upsetting but the things looks fluid! The constant chatter tho, god.
  7. I am definitely talking about Solar Eclipse and apparently I was doing so out of my ass lol! Is it really an entirely different game?? Now I know the Saturn got BattleSport. I wonder how they compare. The 3DO library contains a bunch of Amiga and PC Ports, so you’re not wrong there.
  8. If you’re comparing versions with the Saturn I would say Star Fighter and Total Eclipse are both superior. if you want something that cannot be played on Saturn, there’s this little exclusive I’m very fond of called Phoenix 3. It’s not great by today’s standards but it’s definitely worth some of your playtime.
  9. I actually had this sealed and opened it up when the shrink wrap started putting pressure on the box. At that point I just had to play it and yeah, not a great port. Disappointing even.
  10. I'm surprised Dragon's Lair and Escape from Monster Manor aren't on there. Back in the days these two games were demo'ed everywhere I saw 3DO. Hell the only 3 games I owned in 94-95 were Crash n Burn (as the FZ-1 pack-in), Dragon's Lair and Total Eclipse. TE was demo'ed on the Crash n Burn disc so I guess many people like me made it their first purchase after the initial console/games. And Dragon's Lair was a recognizable license.
  11. Yeah it's pretty rare. Not even ebay will guarantee you a quick copy. Public sales are too few and far in between to reliably estimate its value, I would auction it off on eBay and hope for the best since it's not a particularly interesting title. Hard core collectors might want it.
  12. Real men play Batman Returns. People who say Battletoads on NES is a hard game have never played Batman Returns on Lynx. I played Robo Squash for the first time the other day and I really liked it.
  13. Still a better review than Game Sack's. You can tell he had to dig deeper in order to make valid points about the games he played. Most other 3DO reviews are summed up here: "Road Rash is great, LOL FMV is shit." This is another one where Crash n Burn is said to handle poorly...I don't get it. Am I the only one who can play Crash n Burn? The controls are reliable and so the car's movement is predictable. I really don't recall there being that big of a learning curve there.
