  1. I believe it is spelled " Stretched " . and you are certainly welcome to have that opinion. It doesn't bother me at all. Thanks for your input.
  2. I don't know if you have been reading this thread, but the first fellow fixed it... But thanks for your input.
  3. WOW, you are a very smart person... that was totally it... so im like, Ill just turn it on and wait 25 seconds or so for the copyright screen to go away before I turn the TV on.... and boom... is the first version without the copyright screen a foil label, or is there a discerning mark, variant or something, I want that version. Seriously thanks so much, on my atari top tier list asteroids in number one for me. I love all the games, but for some reason im a savant with asteroids lol
  4. Cheap westinghouse flat screen, about 7 or so years old. directly into the AV in... I did try and AV to HDMI converter, a nice one too, not one of those cheap china made 3$ ones on eBay and nothing worked. If I turn the atari on first, then the TV, instead of " no signal " I get " unsupported format " which ive never had the TV display that for anything else in the 7 years I owned it.
  5. I did an AV out mod on my jr. everything works great, but I can't get asteroids to get the TV to pick up the signal. ( I have two parker bros games that fail to as well, Popeye and .. gyruss maybe?, but these games also fail to play on the retron 77 for myself and others, so I assumed it was a chip incompatibility issue or something. ) But my Asteroids game plays fine in the Retron... so a few days ago , I found a Telegames asteroids for $2.50 on eBay... for that price it was worth a shot.. and that wont work either.... Also in trouble shooting I noticed the telegames version had horrible ghost trails behind the asteroids on the retron77 and the official atari version did not.. just a weird side observation... anyway im sure there is some technical reason for asteroids not sending the right signal to my TV through the AV mod.... works fine on the jr through the RF just not the AV... My curiosity is killing me and I figured one of you fine people would know.
  6. It was doing that weird flicker before the mod when it was RF only... thats the whole reason I did the mod was to eliminate the flicker, but it just made it much more clear and flickery lol im wondering if a chip, transistor or cap is bad.
  7. Hello all, I bought a Jr. a while back, no mods on it, the RF has terrible static, the screen flickered a ghosting effect ever few seconds, and the color was way wrong. my first fix was to solder the RF wire to the board. That eliminated some static but not these two rolling static bands, Then I started turning this rose colored plastic adjustor thing in the RF area of the board. That made the roll slow down to a crawl but some games could push enough signal for my modern TV to see it. I also spun the color adjustor as well.. This seemed to make it playable, but certainly not perfect, and like I said not all games would push a good signal to the TV... I got a A/V mod from ebay and installed it as per a youtube video I watched, and it seemed to work great except the darn ghosting flicker never went away.. not all colors do it, but white, and lighter colors seem to do it. it just rocks between sorta fuzzy, and crisp with a ghost. I did have a rolling white shadow bar that rolled the same as the RF static bands after I did the mod, but I read a thread here where it was a power supply issue, and after I replaced my universal plug pushing 9 volts with a radio shack one and pushed it with 12 volts as per the suggestion, it got rid of those bands... so now im almost perfect except this distracting flicker.... Id also like to reiterate the flicker was there before I did anything to this system Any ideas, ive put so much work and trouble shooting time into this, I just want to see it running great... any advice you all have would be wonderful Sorry for a rough video, the swirling lines arnt there to the human eye, its the vertical lines on the side of the white boxes. 20230513_141615_502142146373342.mp4
  8. Bump is there any update on this, My ranger just came today and im having the same issue with 6.6.0 Thanks
  9. Yeah.... I'm an idiot. Difficulty A on the Jr, and B on the retron..... This is why coffee is important before you try functioning in the world....
  10. Hello, I have a Jr. and a retron 77. I started noticing games played at different speed between the 2 machine, Not all... just certain games. nothing too bad, I chalked it up to emulation vs hardware... But today I got Sky Skipper, a game I played ALOT and I noticed it runs at almost double speed on my Jr. and runs normal speed, at least from what I remember on the retron. I was going to do an AV mod on the Jr but im wondering if it has bigger issues, or if its all in my head.. Thanks for any input.
  11. Little tidbit. Parker did not make the actual game carts, The games arrived at the factory premade by who ever the dev used to make the carts. Parker made the boxes, labels and instructions and had their name on everything as the distributer ... that's why Parker boxes look like board game boxes, its the only type of box the factory had machines capable of making. ( Source: My dad made every Parker Atari board / video game box in the Salem MA. factory from 75 till 93 )
  12. Sorry if this is the wrong area for this question, seemed like this was the best spot... I bought a 2600 JR on ebay. The last revision, It has 2 issues and im not sure if its a recap, or a comp out fix. When I got it , the colors would change, they were never the right color, and sometimes it would slip into black and white. I opened it up and found the color adj inside and got it pretty close, but there are weird artifact ghosts, like in pacman the yellow walls have orange shadows on the right sides, and if I play to long the yellow walls turn dark orange. Also there are two bands of static snow that slowly roll upwards and then start again at the bottom. I adjusted the coil in the modulator area and eliminated all the static I originally had when I got it to just the two bands, but I could never get it to fully go away. My setup is the JR is plugged into a super thick Monster component cable, that goes into a 1991 Radio shack RF modulator ( I tried direct into the TV, and a early 2000's Rad-shack RF modulator and this 90's one gave me the best picture of the 3 ) into an early 2010's westinghouse flatscreen LCD. Also im using a 1990's Radio shack universal power plug 9V 500mah I plan on just getting a retron77 .. but still I love playing on this original unit... What do you all think. im capable of recapping, and comp modding... I just dont want to waste money and time, or if this just sounds like the JR is fried..... thanks for any help
  13. wasn't sure where to put this, so ill put it here. I bought some manuals from eBay , A dollar a piece and the seller sent along the 1982 catalog for free, I Love old catalogs! The free catalog was waaaay cooler than the actual manuals I bought lol , complete with " Toms " very respectable AstroSmash score of 207065 lol
  14. I read in the article that only transfers for " goods and services " will get hit, but transfers under " gift / friends family " will be exempt ... but who knows, that could change too
