  1. I actually liked Towers II quite a bit...its the only Jaguar game I've paid more that $75 for, and it was worth it as far as I'm concerned.
  2. The only reason I was complaining was because of the prices. I'm sure that the service is good, its just that I wrote this thread when I saw the prices...my jaw dropped and my eyes almost popped out of my head. I'm sure they're great to do business with. My intention was not to knock the company down, just their prices. After all, I'm thankful for anyone who sells NEW JAGUAR stuff...just not for an arm and a leg.
  3. Zool 2 and AvP, I've already arranged to purchase with someone. There will be no doubts about those two. My only beef with Zool 2 is it seems you have to press up to jump! Do you usually trade for Atari games. Pickens on ebay are pretty slim unless you want new in box. Not true, you can also press one of the ABC buttons, can't remember off the top of my head which one. They just put that option in there in case you like to press up to jump, but you don't have too!
  4. Zool 2 is another excellent game that is cheap...usually $10-20 even new! It's an awesome 2D side scrolling action game like Sonic/Mario. You have to get it!
  5. The Video Game Critic really sucks ass. His reviews are way off and don't really merit any real worth. The reason is because he never learns how to play the games. He just plays them for 10 minutes and tells you what he thinks the game should have been instead of what it actually is. The dude's site is a complete joke. I don't agree with even 20% of what he says.
  6. Nintendo needs to bring back the Startropics series. I know they weren't early game releases like you asked for, but both of the games were excellent and fun(although probably not very rare). I'm surprised Nintendo never did anything with them after that.
  7. Yoshi's Island DS is a great game, I bet she'd have a lot of fun with it. And its not expensive either, most places have it now for $29.99 or less.
  8. First comes, first served... Finders keepers, losers weepers. Not to rub salt in the wound, but if you'd been their Saturday or Sunday...... I know how it feels, I saw a guy buy a Sega Genesis/32X in front of me. At the time I wanted one badly and it was only $20.
  9. At the very last of the interview, here's right, systems are killed off way too soon. Some of the best games always come out at the very end of the systems lifespan. Remember the SNES? Donkey Kong Country 3, Ken Griffey Jr's Winning Run or whatever its called, Kirby Super Star, Super Mario RPG, they all came out at the very end. The NES had Kirby's Adventure and Star Tropics II, both great games. Although the NES was rightly at the end of its life. The Genesis had Vector Man 2 and a few others I believe. The N64 had Kirby: Crystal Shards, Super Mario Paper and a few others for their last games, and they ruled. God knows the Playstation 1 lived on way after its shelf life, I can't even remember its last games in 2004/2005. The Dreamcast is the most notorious for being killed off early, it had so much potential. Some of the best Jaguar titles were released in 1996, Atari Karts, Fight for Life, Defender 2000, and Attack of the Mutant Penguins, and of course Telegames carried it on well into 1999. Anyways, you get the point.
  10. That's funny, I have a homebrew game on the Dreamcast called "Shuffle".
  11. No, but people with money love to wear it on their sleeves for the world to see. "Look, I'm so special because I spent/wasted $400 on a system that's been dead for 11 years"!!! "I'm an elitist Jaguar collector"!!! If people quit having this mentality, normal people could buy the game for $50 or so. It's not that rare, if its on Ebay every month. People just love to mark up the price for no reason. It's so ridiculous I'll never understand it.
  12. Actually, it was 40,000. JSII has details, it was packaged with AvP. Just thought you might like to know.
  13. Its just too bad that average people can't enjoy it without spending $400. Especially since its supposed to be one of the greatest Jaguar games ever. Every post-Atari release has to have some sort of catch. Limited to only 50 copies, or only $89.99! I'm not really complaining because I know the homebrew scene is expensive.
  14. Panzer General Panzer Front The best realistic tank games on the system.
  15. You know why the SMS didn't do as well as the NES? There weren't as many good games for it! Not as many "super hits" like Super Mario Bros 1,2, 3, Zelda, Megaman, Castlevania, Kirby, you get my point. Although the action, fighting, and racing games were better usually. Sure, there were a lot of great games, but no where near the number of great NES titles. Same thing with the Genesis and SNES. I don't know why, but Nintendo always had a higher ratio of excellent titles. Don't get me wrong, I love the SMS, but I played my NES way more.
  16. You're a hardcore gamer if... 1. You're 25 and still haven't kissed a girl 2. You're 40 and are still not married but want to be... 3. You can't remember the last time you had sex, or you're probably still a virgin... 4. You still think you have something over everyone else because you pre-order your games and systems... 5. You wouldn't know a social life if it bit you in the ass... 6. When the term "fan-boy" does not even begin to do you justice... 7. You're skin is so white people think you're an albino... 8. You think drinking beer and playing online is the pinnacle of gaming... I know the majority of people aren't really like this, but I know some people that really are like this!!! When I worked at a video game store, these people would come in that looked like they hadn't seen sunlight in six months!
  17. Ok I can see that, but on the local level here, all of the people I knew had tons of burned games and very few of the expensive titles. I remember Virtua Tennis, and a bunch of homebrews like Quake and Wolf 3D at my friend's house.
  18. You know what killed the Sega Dreamcast off? The real reason it died early? PIRACY! Sega screwed up big time by making the Dreamcast able to read burned CDs (I know its not the same issue with the Jaguar or CF). People were just burning games for each other and not buying the real things. As a songwriter and musician, I know first hand, copyright infringement sucks ass big time!!!
  19. Oh yeah, those aren't bad at all. I was mainly talking about the ones that made it seem like you were an idiot for buying a SNES because its only 16-bit or those super-fast hyper commercials like the Cybermorph one. LOL!
  20. I will NEVER buy Battlesphere unless it is re-released at a reasonable price ($100 or less) or if I get lucky and spend a $100 or less on an Ebay or dealer auction. $300+ is just way too much. I'd rather buy a nice Epiphone guitar for that much money!
  21. I think it would have been cool for Atari to release maybe a blue or red special release Jaguar, but dirt shows up too easily on white.
  22. Yep...every Jaguar commercial sucked, except maybe the AvP one which was kid of cool with the dead hand and alien holding it.
  23. Here's my un-artistic game...looks like a real Telegames release too!
  24. Sorry ZylonBane, I don't want to fight about it anymore. You can hate it, along with 90% of everyone else, I'll still play it. Ok, it's time for an update of games I like and others don't Troy Aikman NFL Football - I know it's no Madden, but for the Jaguar we don't have much choice unless you pay $50 for Arena Football by B&C, or the fun but pseudo-football game Brutal Sports Football. I actually like this game very much. It's playable, its fun, and it reminds me of a time when EA Sports didn't own the world. The only thing that sucks is that the graphics really should have been upgraded. It was one of those games that probably used 68000 exclusively. If they had just worked on the player sprites and made a new football field graphic it would have looked so much better. But the game play is solid and fun. (To me at least) Trevor McFur in the Cresent Galaxy - This to me, is very fun but hard. Atari should have concentrated on more 2D games like this. The things they could have done to improve it: Remove 20% of on-screen enemies and asteroids (its just too cluttered and unfair) and have more moving background layers. One reason the SNES games that had pre-rendered graphics (like DKC) seemed so cool is because of all of the moving layers of backgrounds. This would have looked great on the land levels (instead of only the foreground images moving). Also, increase the speed of your ship by maybe just 10-15%. Also, add more ground/moon levels instead of so many identical space levels. The only level that sucks is the weird blue one with those blocks. But really, the game is close to a real winner. Music would have been nice. Even is they just kept the weird intro music, anything is better than nothing! Val d'Isere Skiing & Snowboarding - Most people don't have a problem with this game, but some complain about the motion. I for one think this game totally kicks ass! I really can't think of any improvements other than sometimes the right to left movement of the track is way to fast making you crash into trees way too often. If they had worked on that, then the game would have been 100% awesome. I rate it a 90%. The "Mode 7" type graphics look really good, even though its kind of low-tech for the Jaguar, or am I wrong? So what does everyone think about these three games I added?
