  1. That’s a really accurate description. Hamster does the same thing with the Neo Geo ACA games as they do with the Arcade Archives. I add them to my favorites list and wait. I bought Puzzle Bobble 2 last year and Neo Turf Masters this year. Hamster is quite stingy with the sales.
  2. For some reason the Nintendo shop lists the estimated release day as today. Currently the games in the first stadium are on sale for $1 each. I bought at few. I will probably get a few more next time they are $1. With the second stadium I might buy some Ala carte, but I might try to get it on physical when it is discounted in a few months. That new Capcom fighting collection looks fun, but I am waiting for a price drop.
  3. Bumping this old thread. Still no news on a fourth volume of games, but in October Capcom made the games available ala carte for $2 each. I never bought any packs, but buying an arcade game for $2 feels like putting a quarter in the machine. I have bought one of these games on the Switch since I have better controller selection on the Switch. I am going to buy more soon in the Capcom Stadium line. These aren’t as fancy as Sega Ages games eventually I will probably buy most the Sega Ages line. I will probably only end up buying a few of these Capcom games ala carte. I don’t know if I ever would have bought a pack since there are only a few games in each pack that I want.
  4. The $10 deal is for the Beatem Up Bundle which is normally $20. Capcom has a different line of mixed arcade games called Capcom Arcade Stadium that is ala carte or three small packs or one big package. Five of the seven games in the Beatem Up bundle are available for $2 each as the regular price in the Capcom Arcade Stadium. If you only want a few of the games then the ala carte option can save a little.
  5. I think I am too late to edit my post. Two of the games in the Beatem Up (Belt Scroller) Bundle are not in the Stadium. Knights of the Round and King of Dragons are not in the Capcom Stadium. Now I am considering the bundle again. Knights of the Round was one of my arcade favorites. And King of Dragons looks interesting since it breaks up the formula a little. At the discounted price of $10 it is the same as getting the other five games ala carte and then getting these two free.
  6. Also the Capcom Stadium lets you buy them ala carte for $2 each now. Unless you really want all of the games in the collection it seems like a better deal to just buy each beatem up for $2 as you want to play them. The pack is on sale for $10, but are you going to play all of them. I might buy one or even three of them eventually. I am not sure if the emulation is the same and it is sort of disappointing that they couldn’t let someone with the Beatum Collection play online Final Fight with someone with Stadium. But at two bucks I guess I can’t expect much. I haven’t even tried NSO service.
  7. On Capcom Stadium, you can buy individual games for $2.00 usd. I am not sure when they switched from packs only to also selling the individual games ala carte. At $2 each it basically feels like going to the arcade. I can buy each as I want to play it. So far I only have bought the sequel to UN Squadron and I have the two free games. I think only one game is free now. I didn’t see that anyone answered this. I don’t own Renegade or any other actual Arcade Archives releases. I do own the Konami collection that is powered by Arcade Archives. Looking at YouTube videos of the front end menus of Arcade Archives games it looked like games that include multiple regions show each region version in the front end menu. Both Renegade and Kunio Kun videos don’t show any other versions on the frontend. I think to get arcade version of Kunio Kun you need to buy in Japan or Asia region. I was also interested in playing it since I grew up playing Renegade but wanted to try playing with the original Kunio Kun sprites. I like River City Ransom but if these arcade games were included then I would have bought the Kunio Kun collection a long time ago. I am way more into arcade and 16 bit games compared to NES games right now. I will probably buy an actual Arcade Archive release eventually. The Neo Geo ACA releases have way more games on my wishlist . I have a few Sega Ages that I have purchased and more on my wishlist. I will buy some of the Capcom Beatem Ups ala carte and some other Capcom arcade games. I thought I would miss the virtual consoles more, but I like getting the arcade stuff and I like Sega Ages more than virtual console games. I like when M2 gets to enhance a game. Shinobi using the 8bitdo Arcade Stick is fun. I also like using the stick on shooters. Does anyone know why Xbox and PlayStation have Ms Pac-Man but it is still missing from the Switch? I think I remember seeing that Ms Pac Man isn’t included in most Pac Man collections anymore due to the original Crazy Otto arcade mod makers getting the contract updated for rereleases or something like that. Why would this only affect the Switch? Is the PlayStation and Xbox release older and was just grandfathered across the digital stores? I would like Ms Pac Man on the Switch.
  8. Yes, Tanooki. The Magic NS looks like a good device. Having Bluetooth and USB along with compatibility for so many controller types seems like it would be very useful. I bought the 8bitdo Bluetooth only dongle because it was on sale for around $12 locally and I wanted to have two adapters. The 8bitdo adapter has been great. I can use all my other Bluetooth controllers on my Switch now instead buying two Switch Pro Controllers. I also use it on the Genesis mini too. If the 8bitdo Bluetooth doesn’t work on the Astro City Mini though then that is another reason I should have spent more or waited for the Magic NS to be on sale. I am still on the fence for Astro City Mini. It looks really cool with the LEDs and bright buttons. I would probably mostly play it on the tv using another controller and the controls on the unit would mostly be for me to fidget with. I wish the pink variants of the Astro City Mini were more available. The Astro City mini looks so cool, but I might just buy more Sega Ages games and get an arcade stick at some point.
  9. The $30 is what he paid for the Mayflash Magic NS. I think he is including shipping and taxes. I pretty sure that $90 is the lowest price that I have seen for an Astro City Mini before shipping.
  10. I had forgotten about Paperboy having the handlebars controller at the arcade. When I saw you two discussing the Paperboy controls it took a moment to recall what you where talking about. Most of my experience with Paperboy was with the NES port. I don’t think I ever played Paperboy at the arcade, but an older kid in the neighborhood brought it up when my brother bought it for the NES back in the late 80s. The older kid thought the handlebars controller was the coolest I guess the WB Games owns it from when they bought some of the Midway arcade properties and NetherRealms studios after Midway went bankrupt or whatever. That would explain why Rampage is just being tossed in on a two player machine too. Warner Brothers doesn’t know what to do with the arcade games. Their biggest investment into a non-Mortal Kombat Midway arcade game is making that dumb Rampage movie. It would be nice if WB cared more about the old arcade games that they control.
  11. Which 8bitdo controllers and dongles did you try? I have seen a few YouTube videos of people using the 2.4G variant of the M30. In your post you mention looking for a USB solution so I am not sure if 8bitdo wireless products would work for you. Did you try wireless or wired with 8bitdo? I wonder if the firmware matters. Also there is at least one video of the Magic NS being used with a Switch Pro controller over Bluetooth. I think the Magic NS usually works as a wired and wireless adapter. It seems that the adapter needs to be in Genesis mini mode (which makes the Retro-bit 6 button and USA pack-in 3 button not working even stranger). I haven’t tested any of this as I don’t have an Astro City Mini. If the 8bitdo Bluetooth Retro receiver works with the Astro City Mini then I am closer to buying an Astro City. I wonder if only the 2.4g M30 works or if the 8bitdo Bluetooth will work too. There seems to be some people who say the 2.4g M30 doesn’t work for them. video with 2.4g M30 on Astro City: https://youtu.be/DzZ-yqpLh1w video with Magic NS on Astro City: Sorry about my formatting I am posting on a phone.
