  1. Thank you Stuart for the information and the 6V, 1A specs. Exactly what I needed and much appreciated!
  2. The hexbus peripherals for the CC-40 that I have (HX-3100 Modem, HX-3000 RS232) are recommended to use the Texas Instruments AC9201 power adapter in their respective product manuals and the AC9201 seems to be easily found from many sources. I also have a HX-1010 printer 80 and the product manual specifies to use the AC9401 power adapter and this item I cant find anywhere or the specs for it. I don't want to damage my Printer 80 by trying a random power adapter but I was curious if anyone knows if an AC9201 will work on the printer 80 and if not are there any alternative power adapters that are known to work with it? I am currently using it with batteries which is fine but I would prefer to use an adapter. Thank You.
  3. I am new to owning a CC-40 and fortunate to have one of the marvelous HEX-TI-r. I am also interested in using the HEX-TI-r onboard RS232 controller for connecting to a serial printer via the Type B connector. Will any usb to serial adapter work for this or are there other things to consider in this situation? I was under the impression that the typical usb to serial adapters required drivers on a modern PC to work? Any cable recommendations?
  4. Thank you very much wierd_w for the information. I will definitely use your advice with my repair and will post the results. Much appreciated!
  5. I recently acquired a Nixdorf LK-3000 "computer" in relatively good shape. The "computer" itself is designed to not operate without a cartridge inserted. With the machine, I received three cartridges which was two language cartridges and one Electronic Notepad Programmable Module (LK-3500). The two language cartridges function well with no issues, however the Electronic Notepad Programmable Module (LK-3500) does not. After opening the cartridge, it appears there is two batteries soldered to the board that need to be replaced. My issue is that this cartridge is from around 1979 or 1980 so these batteries are quite old, and I am looking for a modern equivalent to replace them with. The only marking on the batteries is the number 3079. I have tried to research this battery using the number 3079 with no success. I also have a copy of the documentation for the module, but it does not identify the battery type or voltage. I would like to see if anyone has any suggestions for a replacement battery that I could attempt to replace these with hoping to get the Electronic Notepad Programmable Module (LK-3500) functioning. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank You.
  6. I recently acquired a TRS-80 PC-2 Pocket Computer and cassette interface in good shape and it appears to be functioning correctly. The LCD screen works well and it appears to switch modes from PRO to RUN correctly. The computer also has an 8k expansion card in it and when I type MEM it typically reports that there is 24576 memory free. I am new to this line of pocket computers and have a few questions that I cant seem to resolve. Like I mentioned, the computer was reporting around 24576 memory but now only says 0. I have removed the batteries, push the reset button etc. but it continues to show 0 for memory and I do not know how to correct this or if I am just unaware of what to do? Also, even when it was showing the higher amount of memory available, I would switch to PRO mode to key in BASIC commands but it never seems to retain them. I would key in the line numbers with simple commands such as 10 PRINT "A" and then I would hit enter which should have placed the line in memory but it does not. I switch to RUN mode and type RUN but nothing happens. In PRO mode I try to use LIST or the up and down arrows to see the line numbers but nothing shows. Just curious if anyone can shed some light on these issues or have experienced them. Any comments are greatly appreciated.
