  1. Eh, it's not a "giving a copy to everyone" kind of thing, it is more of a "preservation" type of thing. Remember, what I brought up was the original Marble Man prototype, with trackballs and more enemies and stuff. With the public proto we have now, yes, in the past many people were confirmed to have a cabinet and it was confirmed to be preserved and running in MAME. But from what I know or what I can remember, there isn't a confirmed owner or location of the original Marble Man prototype. Not even Bob Flanagan has the full cabinet, apparently he only has the source code. All there is online is a single video about it, which I'm pretty sure dates all the way back to 1991, before the cabinet was even put out for public testing. This cabinet really is lost as of now, and I'm wondering if anything can be done to even see if it still exists. I don't really care about a public release; if I want to play Marble Madness II, I'll play the current version we have in MAME right now.
  2. Thinking about that original prototype of Marble Madness II... the one with Marble Man still in the game. I wonder if there's any way someone could get a lead on tracking down this other proto? Preservation is important.
  3. Now THIS is something I know will never become available to the public, but I thought it was too cool to not share. A functional Marble Madness II level editor, found by the same guy who I think is doing the reproduction cabinets for this game. http://atarigames.com/?s=marble+man
  4. Not like it works with 3 players at all in MAME... for some reason there's absolutely no way to map anything to the "3 player start" button, so player 3 can never be activated.
  5. We Donut Dodo fans will be eatin' good tonight... Donut Dodo's coming out on June 3rd!! Source:
  6. The dev's twitter account is active again! Nothing much else, and nothing for sure can be said, but the future looks bright :)
  7. A really interesting conversation concerning the game popped up in the comments section... Does this basically confirm that the Marble Madness 2 ROMs will never be made public?
  8. Good news everyone! I got a response from the soundtrack composer, and here's what he had to say: "Hello! Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, the developer has been in the hospital since the start of December, it was really bad timing and also nobody knew what happened at first. I heard last week that they seem to be on the right track, so fingers crossed!" So, the developer is not missing. They're in the hospital, and I'm assuming that as soon as they have fully recovered and are allowed to leave, Donut Dodo will finally be released!
  9. I've contacted the soundtrack composer for the game. Perhaps he can provide a bit of insight on anything at all?
  10. Well, for everyone who is waiting for this game: You can at least listen to the full completed soundtrack over at this link: https://cosmicgem.bandcamp.com/album/donut-dodo-original-soundtrack
  11. Evidently, it did not release by the unlock time stated. The only hope for it releasing today is if it drops sometime between now and within the next 9 hours. Otherwise, I don't think Donut Dodo is coming out very soon, if at all.
  12. Well, that's his opinion. I can't judge him for it, but I can't say I agree with it.
  13. Forgive me, I misspoke. Might be better to replace "bad" with "received poorly by the majority once it becomes public". I personally think the game will be fantastic to play. Of course, not everyone will share the same opinion.
  14. If the game turns out to be bad, then at least the music is good.
