  1. I have an m.2 and it works for internal storage but I’m still booting off of a usb 3.1 drive. I would like to know how to install windows onto the SSD and not use the dongle. Is there a preferred method?
  2. I wanted to set the record straight on a false claims I made unexpectedly. The start of the game is in caves and doesn't suffer from the open world. After getting out of the caves in Elden Ring I ended up getting a much worse frame rate and it did not "play like butter" in the open world. It was more like 27-42 FPS. I upgraded the card to RTX 3060 ti and it didnt change the performance too much. I'm still getting the same frame rate but changing the settings from low to high does not change my framerate at all. The CPU is dependent on loading certain assets in Elden ring and struggles to keep up on higher settings which makes sprites and background randomly appear even with the upgrade. My Tim espy had a jump but Elden Ring's dependency on CPU is whack on the latest updates. I'm sure if optimization for PC happened it would run smooth again but it still gets the most gameplay on my Atari GTX 1060 eGPU: RTX 3060 ti eGPU: I got my case though and am looking forward to my output cord to make it a portable form factor
  3. It runs very smoothly without the video card if you disable ambient occlusion, particle, bloom lighting, shadows, in 1080p at 60FPS as long you up the APU wattage to 54 watts, Upgrade the RAM to 32GB 3200 mhz, allocate 8GB to GPU framebuffer. Once again buy this exact RAM if you want it to work properly: https://www.newegg.com/team-32gb-260-pin-ddr4-so-dimm/p/N82E16820331504 To access the BIOS, you simply hit ESC, backspace or both while booting up and type in Piano18482 or Atar!C3l3br8te$50Ye4r$ when it asks for the password. The rest of the info is at the 6:55 mark of the video. Its just a 3GB GTX 1080. I was surprised how optimized Elden Ring is with this setup . Currently it takes up more space than I would like but I'm waiting on my Beast external power connector So I can use an inline PSU with a single cord similar to an XBox 360 or Gamecube power supply to the card and ditch the ATX. And because its HDMI you can Extend the Video card connection through a cheap HDMI extension and set your video card somewhere away from your credenza. Its plug and play once you install the plug. Take the 4 screws off the bottom and route the Beast plug into the PCI Express slot and then out the back vent Once my case arrives. My video card will look more like a Nintendo Wii and I can enjoy staring at a little Atari to play my modern games. With the Dell cord setup I can power up to an RTX 3060ti, With the ATX I can power up to an RTX 3090. (Im bidding until I can get a 3060ti to run in the power cord Wii looking case) If you run into a snag. I'm happy to help you get through it.
  4. Why would you not upgrade the Atari? There are so many good upgrades and 1,000’s of games to play and better performance to be had.. Also I don’t remember Atari recommending a limit to their upgrades.. I don’t understand where your coming from I guess.. Here’s Elden Ring playing like butter..
  5. Happy day guys. I finally received my Beast dock and was able to install the NGFF connector inside the case.. First I had detach the grill clip in the back vent. Ran my cord through and snipped and 1/16" path. After re-casing. I have a cute little "GPU tail" I'm still waiting on the Beast output cord so I can run my Dell power brick instead of my 600w ATX. Ill be sure to update when I receive it and the eGPU case. But I love the thought of A single cord going to the GPU and a single cord going to the Atari.. So this is what the setup will look like when it arrives Until then. Here is my ATX setup working in my adorable but powerful Atari VCS.. I'm proud to rock the VCS!
  6. I would upgrade the ram and allocate more to GPU Framebuffer Up your CPU wattage ETA Prime has a great guide that worked for me. This is the RAM if you want to upgrade to 32GB 3200 MHZ. Most 32GB 3200 mhz RAM is incompatible so buy this one exactly if you want it work. https://www.newegg.com/team-32gb-260-pin-ddr4-so-dimm/p/N82E16820331504 I'm receiving the Dock setup for external GPU tomorrow so look for an easy upgrade forum tutorial soon as well
  7. Certain emulators run better on Direct X 11 Support in Windows That's the only reason I haven't switched to Linux or a frontend OS like Batocera I agree for a lot of them. But my favorite Wii game is Mario Galaxy 2. And the Atari supports the original Wii motes and sensors. I found that changing shaders to skip drawing and enabling the 30FPS mode through gecko code helps.. My Beast GPU dock should be in tomorrow. I'm hoping its going to be a game changer
  8. I'm on BIOS 05.32.50 And used the password: Atar!C3l3br8te$50Ye4r$
  9. I guess I cant edit and add to my post.. I found the Beast output connector. It was a pain and google did not like my search queries on this one.. They stopped including this cable in the beast eGpu kits years ago for some reason.. https://www.amazon.com/Graphics-Cable-Laptop-External-Independent/dp/B07P8VD11J With this. I can power the 1060 with a power block and a single cord coming from the Atari.
  10. I did a little more research and it seems that having the Dell 220w DA-2 USFF PSU as a cord would make for a much cleaner setup akin to the Xbox PSU. I looked up the Peak wattage of the 1060 OC at 179 watts so it should fit the bill for the bulky power cord. The problem I have is I cannot find the 8 Pin to 8 Pin and 6 Pin to output from my Dock to external power input on my GPU. and the combo I bought only has the power input from ATX supply. Does anyone know where to buy the 6 pin to 8 and 6 pin Beast output adapter for the Beast? I would like to use the Dell cord because I plan on using this Beast case and reinforcing it with L brackets and nut bolt sets.
  11. The Piano password didn’t work for me but this one did: Atar!C3l3br8te$50Ye4r$ Im surprised you had to roll back your firmware.
  12. Good news. The OP is spot on his recommendation. I bought the TEAMGROUP RAM from his Newegg link: https://www.newegg.com/team-32gb-260-pin-ddr4-so-dimm/p/N82E16820331504 The install went as planned and is 32GB and 3200Mhz speed.
  13. It finally clicked and I was able to comprehend the whole dock station setup. I was rummaging through my old business PC's and found a PNY GTX 1060 6GB OC and robbed a 600w ATX power supply from it. I have this lo-pro Wi-fi bluetooth usb as my router is close by: I bought this configuration of Beast EXP 8.5 with NGFF HDMI connector. I'm wondering the benefit of the NGFF over the standard m.2 NVME port to HDMI connector used for our internal SSD. I feel like it be less "dongly" not using a Wi-fi bluetooth usb adapter. I received my recommended 32GB 3200 mhz ram in today and will be able to test the Egpu dock in the next few days when it arrives. Fingers crossed
  14. I ordered the ram when I first got my VCS before I joined this group. I kind of expected this to happen after reading the OP's story and his crucial RAM brand which is what I bought. "4) Crucial memory (CT2K16G4SFRA32A). High fans and no boot at all." I uninstalled the RAM and reinstalled stock and its working now at least. Then I instigated a return. I ordered the OP recommended RAM from NEWEGG and will see if it works. I have high hopes now. If anyone is unsure at this point.... DO NOT USE THE CRUCIAL BRAND 32GB 3200MHZ SODIMM RAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
  15. Thanks I figured it out. It's on page 15 of the bios password thread. Unfortunately, after following the guide on upgrading memory speed, Allocating 8GB to framebuffer, and the wattage to 54w on the CPU, I saved my changes and was greeted with a black screen. What should I do now. I'm not able to get back into the bios. Should I go back to stock ram or is there a way to master reset? The ram upgrade was working when it was limited to 2400 mhz. I wonder what's causing the black screen and how to avoid it? If there's anyone out there.. Please help..
