I would agree that most, if not all of the enemies in Final Fight are annoying and just plain rediculous. Since when were the slums of any city crawling with gangs full of long-haired, leather-clad freaks named Andre or Simmons, who look like they should be at a KISS concert instead of fighting with metal pipes in the subway? The story seemed incredibly far off from reality, but it was the very first SNES game I ever played. *sniff*... memories.

Oh...... but you cannot forget the damned land mines!!!! I have pushed the power button off, thrown controllers, and nearly busted my Game Boy(GB version is a bitch too) from the land mine field in the champion course. But I will agree with the crater-making ship being grief givers. I swear the game cheats with those ships. The controllers absolutley do not help either when you try to shoot the Tri-Balled UFO and the bullet hits it, but the ship does not blow up. You can cry wolf all you want, but its not like a computer can respond. I have experienced that problem with other games, but Moon Patrol has to be the one that does it the most. Another thing that Moon Patrol does that is quite strange is when the screen blanks out in the middle of the game. It usually happens in the beginer course when I am coming towards the end of it, all of a sudden the surface that the buggy is driving on just disappears like a cliff, and I have to restart the game because once the buggy goes into the blank spot it explodes. A few other times the buggy nevers comes down after jumping, it just plays suspended in the air. I guess my game is getting worn out.

I have problems with the stick too. Both of my controllers are so botched up, its a miracle they still work sometimes. Mind you, I first picked up an Atari 5200 controller when I was 4, so my patience for video games was almost non-existant. Over the years I have tried to play Star Trek again, but my desire to win at it video games just isnt what it used to be. I guess its both funny and sad that I could beat The Legend of Zelda:Blah blah blah for N64 in 4 days but I still have yet to beat a simple Atari game.

Simple question: What is everyones most hated enemy? Mine is the Pterrie from Joust. The Pterrie ranks first in the list of game enemies that caused me to throw the controller most. Maybe its because I never wear my glasses, but my aim isnt too good when it comes to getting rid of him. I think the spider from Centipede could tie with the Pterrie.

Okay I have about 7 hours... but there is an Atari 5200 Trak-Ball Controller on ebay for $9.99. The picture looks nice soooooo...... should I buy it???? I know said I hate the trak-ball, but that was before I realized how affordable it is and how much more complete I would feel. Its item number 1311073664 if anyone wants to look at it... but dont bid!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its gonna be mine if its good. So can anyone tell me if thats a good price for its quality in the next 2 hours or so? Please!!!!!

I have: 1 Pac Man yellow baseball cap(still fits my noggin for some reason, although tightness could be responsible for my low IQ). 1 pair of Pac Man roller skates. They are old as dirt, and I dont know who gave them to us because I wasnt exactly around in an Atari crazed location at the time. But anyway... they taught me how to roller skate. 1 pair of Pac Man shoe laces(I have them in my bright red Converse All Stars right now). 1 Pac Man and Friends(correct title? The book is stored away at a relatives in America) paperback story book. Interesting new look and names for all the ghosts(Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Sue). I guess the author felt the ghosts needed a feminine touch. And of course it was my favorite bedtime story book. I also still have some personal Atari treasures such the little Pac Man my sister made out of clay for me when I was 3. Nothing official, nor worth any money, but still of sentimental value.

Germany is okay... I mean, I actually havent seen it too well from a tourist perspective. I was originally going to live with someone else when my parents moved, but Im a Cold War nerd so when I heard Berlin it was like... Im coming too!!!!!! My personal opinions about the country have changed a bit due to the influence of friends and a boyfriend who all grew up in East Berlin and the GDR. If you want to see a lot of sterotypical German cliche stuff like Lederhosen, beer and Oktoberfest... go to Bayern/München area in the south. If you are into history from WWII and the Cold War, or techno music stuff... go to Berlin. Places like Frankfurt am Main and Stuttgart are more like business destinations rather than tourist sites. Hamburg is also a really big city of nothing. Every city has its own proud history but it depends how much you are interested in it. I guess what the cool thing about Germany is that you are never far from the border of another country. For instance, if you are in a western city like Dortmund, you can drive to Amsterdam in only a few hours in the morning and still be home that same day for a late supper. I have had to suffer through things like school, and getting used to a people with a much more structurized way of life than mine, so I sometimes talk a little sour about some things. But if you are only stopping by as a tourist, its a great place and lots of people speak English here so its easy to get help if you need it.

Yes, Im an American in Germany. If you heard me attempt to speak the German language, you would easily know Im an American also.

I will be honest, the arcade version does sound about 1,000x better. I could actually kick myself for not spending game tokens on it when I would go to those Major Magics/Chuckie Cheese type places as a kid.

Dont be so judgemental. I learned to love stinky, hairy, european guys. The stink is just an ancient adaptation to attract mates. The animals still have it... pharamones, I think its called that.

Oh, another thing I forgot(Im a little tipsy right now, so forgive my weirdness)... why does the instruction manual(spelling?) not have a picture of the other model of the UFO? To be honest the other model is butt ugly but I just thought Atari ought to warn new players before they have to look at something so horrid. Cafeman, put a picture of that in your site too for safety reasons.

I bought the Game Boy Color version of Moon Patrol also, and found it less than satisfactory. To me, Nintendo only made a carbon copy of the arcade version... which suprised me when I first played it because it looked nothing like mine. One thing that makes me like the 5200 version even more was that it looks so different. Okay, so the patrol car does look like a blip of snot or something on the TV screen, but at least the UFOs carried a slightly more realistic size. What I did not like about the Game Boy edition was the presence of weird colors like pink in the scenery. Im a bit obsessive compulsive when it comes to little things like colors, and the blue and orange does the game a whole lot more justice than what Game Boy Color did.

I dont blame the stores for wanting to get that particular game out the door. Maybe its because Im am a bit on the stupid side, but the game sucks. I read over the manual here(btw. thanks for the tip), and the directions are bit complicated for a game with such a small objective. I personally was never able to keep control of the ship, maybe thats why I should never become a pilot... but anyway, Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator was definitley not one Atari´s or Sega´s finest games.

I have an Atari 5200 cart that is about Star Trek. The instruction book was burned or something, so I could never really read about how to play it or what the real objective was. But on the cart, it says that it is a simulator or something. I have barely made it to the second level... so is it really a simulator? I asked my mom about where the game was bought and she said that she got it for free at Toys R Us way back in 1984. Would stores really give away Atari games for free in 1984? Does anyone know about a Star Trek game, and if so does anyone know a link to a site with instructions or any kind of info about it?
