  1. I have the audio fluctuation as well. Seems like the issue always starts acting up in the 2nd area for me.
  2. I'm interested in 2 controllers whenever they're available.
  3. Are you using the stock RF output? If you still have that 5200 and a game, I would see if the chip works there. That would rule out if the chip is at fault. I remember reading about an unlucky user extracting a working chip from an Atari 8-bit and somehow it failed during the transition. It wouldn't hurt trying to re-seat the chip or clean the console's cartridge connectors.
  4. I've got the same sound artifacts on the Alien Brigade title screen. I didn't notice the tone during cutscenes though. I've got the UAV installed and it's working fine.
  5. My Concerto works with the UAV S-Video mod. You'll get POKEY audio along with the stock TIA as long as wherever you're grabbing the audio has the 2 signals mixed, or that you mixed them yourself.
  6. Thanks for the update! Now with right controller support and Select+Reset navigation, Alien Brigade is recognizing the gun in the left port each boot. Before, it seemed like it didn't always work swapping the controllers. Though this is a daily build I'll still go over some findings I noticed in case the info is helpful. - There's some new minor graphical glitches in the flashing text on the title screen that I don't believe were present before. - This may or may not be new, but engaging the radio in the top left goes to the mission briefing screen and then quickly resets to the title after a second or so. Seems to be the same behavior as the alien finger intro screen others are experiencing. Other than that I played up to stage 3 and everything else seems to be in order.
  7. My 7800 doesn't have this issue, and the finger draws out the name without any stuttering. What other titles are known to be problematic?
  8. @save2600 I'll try that Y adapter out, which should do the job thinking about it. The hot swapping isn't so much an inconvenience doing, I'm just scared of ESD frying any IC's in these old consoles. Not sure about the 7800, but the C64 and Colecovision are pretty susceptible to it.
  9. Well, think of menu navigation with the 2nd port as adding better compatability to the 5 or so light gun games. ?
  10. Can menu navigation control be added to the 2nd controller port? I just made up an adapter for my sega light gun to work with the 7800 and I notice that the games expect the gun in port 1. I really don't like hot-swapping controllers.
  11. From what I tested, 2600 games all work fine. Did you ever get a replacement that did work?
  12. I let the console sit on the menu for around 30 or so mins, but still no 7800 games work. Tried a ferrite choke on the power, but I didn't see any changes.
  13. I got my Concerto Cart the other day, but I'm having no luck with it. Menu fires up and navigation is good, but not a single 7800 game works. If a rom boots I have graphical bugs all over, and the games usually crash. Official 2600 and 7800 cartridges work. I've tried all the firmwares available, using the verified rom archive download listed here, tried multiple SD cards, and cleaned the cartridge connector with no changes. Looks like a have an A1 model, serial A1 7C5183642. Is there anything I can do?
