  1. Update on Dino Eggs.

I hate vaporware.  I do not believe in it and that is one of the reason why I never do pre-sales , take money from anyone or promise anything.    I try to always give my 100%.

When I started the project I invested a lot of my time in it.
The routines I created can be used in other games which is a positive step, however there was at least a month of work in graphics and sound that has not been released.  I can use the sound but not the graphics and feel of Dino Eggs.

I planned on putting a hold on work until January but after no response from 3 different distributors and an honorable royalty/license disagreement with the author I can not work on the game any longer for various reasons.

The main one being that I will lose a ton of money on the game and it would be easier to create my own that I do not have to buy a license or owe anything other than a great game to a potential customer.

At first, my intention was to create a demo and gauge the interest.  As interest grew then a whole game was brewing out of it with all the thanksgiving trimmings.  Well, that costs money and I deserve the largest slice of the pie when it's released after a years worth of my work.  The distributor deserves something to cover costs of chips, boxes and such.

And of course the original author receives a cut because it is their idea and tm.  I have no argument for those 3 things but when it boils down to here is a 35 year old game that only a handful of people will pay actual money for.  Well the books just do not balance.

A year of my work, 5 or 6 days a week, graphics, sound, coding, boxes, instructions you get the point then exactly what is the author doing to earn a penny other than presenting a 35 year old idea that has been said and done, It had it's day.

So what we are left with is a market for nostalgia.  For what is dead technology except for a few of us that love this sort of thing.  Where the only movement I know about is a sequel back in late 2016 so even that is 8 years old and nothing new that I am aware of.

There is no animosity or hard feeling towards anyone involved with this project but until someone comes up with an agreement where everyone can proceed forward and be happy then I have no choice but to divert my skills elsewhere.
This also includes no updates or demos as well.

    Thanks for reading,

    CC

I just decommissioned our pond, too much work and money. 5.5 yards of dirt and now no more pond
