Since I had some vacation time, I thought I would go to some garage sales and thrift shops.
On Saturday, I went to one garage sale and picked up Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree for the Wii for $1, and the Bradygames guide for Grand Theft Auto V for $2.
And at another sale on the block I live on, I picked up Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (ordinary GameStop cover), also for $1. That sale also had PS2 games for $1, but nothing but sports games.
Sunday, I went to a thrift shop and got Lair for PS3 for $3, the price for any game in the store.
Today, I went to another store and got New Carnival Games for Wii, Hitman: Absolution for PS3, & Darksiders II for PS3, plus 2 DVDs and a movie on Blu-ray. From the price lists posted ($3.29 for Wii games, $2.99 Blu-ray, $1.99 DVDs, and I think $2.99 for games for PS2/PS3/Xbox), I thought the games and movies together would be a little over $16. But there was some kind of discount today, and the total, before tax, came to $1.98. That would make the games at that store 33 cents each!

Virtual Boy: bought it at a toy store, played it, brought it back to the store the next day to exchange it for some Game Boy games.
Pong consoles: I just need one working console, don't need to collect the thousands of other pong consoles made.
Coleco Adam: Needing the printer to power up the system? I will pass on this system.
Any Xbox system: NO! NO! NO! To me, Series X looks like you can grill burgers on top. Series S looks like a bad stereo speaker. Not enough games exclusive to any Xbox system that would make me think about getting one of them.

2 weeks ago at a Goodwill I found a Nintendo Wii with no covers on the Gamecube ports, and came with just the power supply, A/V cable, and a badly scratched disc of NBA2K13 for $14.99.
I bought it and it did power up. So I bought a third-party Wii controller, GCN memory card, refurbished sensor bar, and a couple of under $10 games (one each for GCN and Wii), and it worked very well.
In the past week:
At one game store, Game Freaks:
De Blob (Wii) $7.99
Pokepark 2: Wonders Beyond (Wii) $34.99
And at the other game store in my area, Lion Guard Gaming:
Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut (GCN, "Player's Choice" edition) $19.99
Finding Nemo (GCN, "Player's Choice" edition) $4.99
The Ant Bully (GCN) $4.99
Phantasy Star Universe (PS2) $9.99
Lara Croft, Tomb Raider: The Angel Of Darkness (PS2, with Hollywood Video game rental cover instead of original) $4.99
Had $5 in credit at that store, so $1 off the price of each of those games.
And finally off of eBay: The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii, "Nintendo Selects" edition with ruined manual) for $18.03 (price includes tax and shipping).

I went to a thrift store where they were selling games for $3. Picked up a copy of Virtua Fighter 4 for PS2. They also had a PS2 with 2 controllers and all the cables, but the man at the counter said he wanted $100. I passed. I don't think he had tested it to see if it works.

Today at my Goodwill I found a copy of Densha de GO! for the Japanese PS1 for $2.99. They thought it was a regular music CD and not a game. They also had a copy of Professional Baseball Spirits 6 for the Japanese PS3 for $8.99.

Today was the opening day of my local Goodwill store. It had a lot of PS2, PSP, and Gamecube games (The GC games I could remember was most of the Sonic The Hedgehog games). A slim PS2 with no hookups for $7.99, an original Playstation with 2 controllers (no A/V cable or AC cord) for $11.99, an Atari Flashback 2 with an odd A/C power supply and no controllers for 12.99, and at least 4 new PS2 controllers in original packaging for $10.99 each.
I just bought this plug-n-play game system for 99 cents:

It did not come with little black A/V adapter shown here:
but I had something from another game controller so I could hook up at least the video cable of this to the TV.

I just got a PM that I won the Casio PDA from the other thread!
-
Did he say who won?? Will the inners be emailed??
Either email or PM, however you sent in an answer.
I sent my answer to him by PM. After a day I sent him an email to check his PM box. He told me that I won the LOTR bundle by email and a reply to my PM I sent.
I sent a few more answers to trivia questions on the other thread last Thursday and Friday, but did not get a reply on those. I was wondering if they were won already.
-
If anybody has won something in this thread or the other contest thread that rkenneha posted, please post
what you won so the other forum members know whats still available for prizes.
I found out that I won the Lord Of The Rings bundle in the other thread on Saturday.
-
I have sent 5 PMs for the Lord Of The Rings bundle, the
Original PSX + power cord + AV cord, and all three PS2 game
bundles.
rkenneha, if I have sent entries for too many prizes, let
me know by PM.

I went to neighbor's garage sale across the street from my house and bought a GBA game: March Of The Penguins (cart only), and 3 of the Pokemon cartoon GBA Video carts (cart only) for $1 each.
She had a Nintendo DSi (CIB), a little bag filled with GBA and DS game cart holders, extra stylus, a DS power adapter for the car, and CIB copy of Pokemon HeartGold version, all for $85. I passed on that. She said if I come back tomorrow, she will give me a better deal on it. I don't think I will get any money in time if its still there, and if I did, it would be just $30. I think she would say no to that price.
She was selling a ton of Naruto comic book & DVDs. Picked one DVD up for $2.

The house behind mine was having a sale. Here's what I picked up, all for $11:
Sega CD model 2 (it works)

2 AC adapters for the above Sega CD and model 1 Genesis
SG Propad 2 six-button controller
Genesis 3-button controller
an S-video cable (male connectors at both ends)
the following loose Genesis carts:
Disney's Aladdin
Disney's The Jungle Book
Chiki Chiki Boys
Chester Cheetah: To Cool To Fool
Mortal Kombat
Home Alone
Hook
Eternal Champions
Strret Fighter II: Champion Edition
the following Genesis carts with box
Golden Axe
Streets Of Rage 2
CastleVania Bloodlines
Pit-Fighter
Wimbeldon Champion Tennis
Fatal Fury
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 ("not for resale" crossed ou with marker)
Virtua Racing (CIB)
The following Sega CD games:
Chuck Rock 2: Son Of Chuck (disc only)
Supreme Warrior (CIB)
Slipheed (CIB, but cracked case)
WWF Rage In A Cage (heavily scratched, keep getting "disc error" message)
Sewer Shark (disc only)

One garage sale had a pink Nintendo DS with 2 games (Super Mario 64 DS and Kingdom Hearts) for $60. I asked if she would sell it for $40. She said no, so I passed on that.
She also had a N64 with 2 memory cards and about 12 games for $40, but she would sell the games for $3 each. So I bout one of the memory cards for $1 and these games:
Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Tooie
Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko
Quest 64
Glover
Donkey Kong 64

Today I won the "Spooky books, horror movies" stuff!

I went to 4 garage sales today, here's what I found:
2 N64 Controllers, one gray, one clear purple (and cracked on the bottom): $1 each
1 25 game plug-n-play game controller: $1
laserdiscs for a dollar each, picked up E.T., Fantasia 50th Anniversary edition, and the original Star Wars trilogy
1 GBA, no battery cover, screen slightly scratched, but works great: $5
1 loose N64 game: Star Wars: Rogue Squadron: $1
2 loose GBA carts: $3 each, picked up Pokémon Emerald and Pokémon Leaf Green
Because of the new Pokémon games I got today, I bring back the Snorlax avatar!

I just signed up and didn't have trouble getting past the verification image thing or loging in with the password they sent me.

I went to a rummage sale at the local Elks Club. They had about 2 dozen X-Box games ( think mostly sports games), and a bunch of Guitar Hero games. I think I saw Guitar Hero World Tour for the PS3 for $15.
I then went to the local Salvation Army thrift store. They had some SNES, NES, Game Gear and Genesis carts, but were all sports games. I saw one cart each for the Atari 5200 and TI-99/4A, but didn't look at the names because I didn't have the systems. There was 3 SMS games, 2 of them needed the SMS sports pad (which I don't have), the other was F-16 Fighting Falcon (don't have an original SMS).
I saw at least 20 Atari 2600 games for 99 cents each. I bought:
Berzerk
Cosmic Ark
Kaboom!
Dragster
Space Invaders.
I didn't buy much, but I am happy.

While buying some movies a couple days ago at my local Goodwill, I found a nice amount of PS3 games. Final price after 25% off for 10 or more games/DVDs/CDs: $2.99 each.
And I found a pink PS3 controller for $4.99.
