  1. I saw these at the Auburn, NY Walmart. Grabbed it along with extra controller and two packs of cards off of the shelf. Then put it back. Then grabbed it again, then put it back. Then grabbed it again, walked up to the cashiers, turned around out it all back. Morbid curiosity makes me really want this thing, but the FACT that it will be clearance fodder in no time makes me shy away. Anyhow, I was in Buffalo, NY on Sunday and couldn't find one anywhere. I thought it funny that a terribly small "city" would have it, but not one the size of Buffalo.
  2. early on third party on DS were $40, and non Sony releases PSP games were $50. These days the prices are more like what you stated.
  3. what? how dare you put my name on the internet. Take it down now or I'll sue!
  4. no differance, except games play in the mode of the machines territory. For example (with a few exceptions) a japanese game will play in english on an American machine, and vice versa. Switch modding a Neo CD is incredibly easy, so that if you want to play an uncensored (but in japanese) version of a game on an American system you can. Load times depend on how big the game is. Early titles will have a long load time initially, but next to nothing after that. The big meg games however load a lot and take a lot fo time doing it. King of Fighters 98 and Last Blade 2 for example are almost unplayable imho because your playtime is so broken up by loading.
  5. i have forty ngage games, but no ngage. i still have neo cd games even though i sold the system.
  6. I saw a commercial for this on cartoon network the other night. If you kids are good, maybe Santa will put one under the christmas tree!
  7. I hope the other guy knows what he's getting into. I heard you are a bad trader.
  8. I have a sit down Nintendo Vs. four player Sunset Riders FTW!
  9. good luck with the auction. I paid $80 for a loose one. IIRC, the output jack was on top of the unit, so you wouldn't be able to use the 32X.
  10. i had one of these years ago. Apart from being able to play import games it's rather useless.
  11. if you are connecting using the RF unit (thing that plugs into the jack where you normally plug your cable tv into) the tv should be on channel 3 or 4, and the switch on the jag on L or H respectively. If you are using the red, white , and yellow cables then the tv should be on your AUX channel. If you hook it up correctly, the power light comes on, and you still get no picture then it could be that the hook up cable is bad or that the jag isn't working. From my experience it is usually more the former than latter.
  12. not a BIG deal, just kind of lame. Especially when you just echoed thoughts others already relayed, as if they were your own.
  13. wow. what a way to leech a thread from a different forum.
  14. there's a thousand games on PC I'd like to play, but all this is just the reason I've always been a console gamer. I've not the attention span or deisre to track all these different things down and then tinker with different configurations to get a game running.
  15. actually it's for perfectly legal import games. kid loves the SNK stuff, but not the Neo Geo prices.
  16. yeah, during the actual race, not just in the menus like the other versions.
  17. always wanted to like Shockwave, but found it very hard. Even with cheat codes it was hard getting through. Though graphically Road Rash was great, I actually prefer the Sega CD version. It was the only rev to play the real bands music while racing. Other versions just had the cheesy game music. Off World Interceptor was good for a laugh at the cut scenes. Gameplay itself not so much.
  18. you really suck at describing stuff. How about this "I bought the flip top case mod for my old style PS2 so that I can play soem imports. After trying to install it with my chimp-like skills I've encountereed the following problems... I realize I am incredibly slow witted and it hurts my head when I try to think so could one of you much more intelligent fellows help me out with my predicament?" If i didn't know what you were asking about, there is no way I could know what it was about.
  19. i played and loved Doom RPG, same with Orcs and Elves; though that one would freeze up on me. Only other game I 've played is Solitaire, which I play all the time while waiting for stuff. I have tried other games, but they pretty much all sucked. Phones don't have the tech or controls to run platformers and action games properly, so I wish developers would quite making them. Give me puzzlers, adventure, and RPGs and I'll be happy.
  20. Definitely Wii. Would get PS3 if there were something worth getting it for.
  21. taken with a grain of salt the 3DO is ok. Certainly better than some other "next gen-but not really" systems that were released in the same time frame. (hmmm, is that an elephant behind that tree?) But you do have the problem of there being very few games that haven't been done better elsewhere. MY recommednations would be: 1.Star Control -this is the Tempest 2000 of the 3DO for me, meaning the only game I actually go back and play on the system 2. Bladeforce-really hard on the eyes, but a standout game for the system 3. Gex-done elsewhere, but relatively common and therefore cheap. Worth picking up if you are into platformers. 4.Starfighter-fly around and blow stuff up. It's commonly argued that although it was released on playstation, the 3DO rev is better. 5. Alone in the Dark 1 &2- if you are a fan of resident evil, but thought it had too much action, these are worth checking out. Good puzzles to solve, but if memory serves, not the best in the control department. 6&7. Samurai Showdown & Super Street Fighter II Turbo- Very (very, very in SSF2T's case) respectable fighters. Offbrand controllers or the Snes controller convertors are a must. 8.Guardian Wars- crappy looking (nowadays) Shining Force kind of deal. But still fun. 9.Battlesport- kind of an updated Ballblazer. Was ported to Saturn, but not sure how well 10.Trip'd-Puzzle game. Good way to waste ten minutes. 11.D-Everyone should know this game. Was a personal favorite for years (would always play it on Halloween). Was ported to Saturn and PSX, with differing degrees of success depending on who you talk to 12.The Horde- Great game imho. Ported to Saturn and PSX. Build up farm land and kill the invading creatures before they can tear down/eat all of your hard work. 13.Return Fire- Capture the flag more or less. Classical soundtrack fits the game perfect. Somewhat visually upgraded for PSX, but this is the one I come back to when in the mood. If you are into sports, Madden was cool and Fifa was outstanding (for the time). I was never into First person shooters, which i guess was a good thing because most of the 3DO ones were framey messes. I did like Quarantine a lot though. Various games like Syndicate, Panzer General, and Theme Park were released, but you can play all of those in newer/better forms. Overall I'd say the 3DO had more mediocre games than truly horrible, though it does have a few of those (shadow, mazer, Seal of the Pharoah). If anyone suggests Way of the Warrior, don't listen to them.
