  1. Any updates on the VCS version? Been waiting patiently.
  2. Wow what a disappointment to still not have Atari 50 released on the VCS. I understand there are emergencies but the other consoles have the game.
  3. Any updates to when the Atari 50 comes out on the VCS?
  4. Hi, the VCS doesn't offer directly Jungle Hunt in their store or apps. However you can still play it online through chrome or going PC mode and installing a mame emulator.
  5. Yeah, if you followed the gaming magazines and shopped at places like Toys R Us and Kmart, the 5200 was there. The 5200 was only system that could compete with Coleco. There were people that loved Donkey Kong but I was still into Pacman and Defender. Both great systems. Seeing Pacman and the intermissions for the first time at home was a gem. I am a Coleco Smurf fan.
  6. Where did you grow up? If you followed Atari in the US, the 5200 was all over during the winter of 82.
  7. Atari did a poor job advertising the 5200. Many commercials showed the 5200 graphics but the commercial was for the 2600. When Atari advertised for Centipede, it would show both 2600 and 5200 art for both consoles instead of an exclusive 5200 ad. 5200 Centipede was the goat in that era. They did this in virtually all magazine ads. These commercials that did showcase the 5200 were on odd channels and very late times. Part of the 5200 problem was Atari's dedication to the 5200. Atari could have done better.
  8. Ok, I guess it would have happened after the existence of the 5200. I was already into the 800xl in 85. Playing 5200 Qix in 83 was pretty cutting edge especially being a fan of the arcade version. I started going to 8bit user groups in the early 90s.
  9. What year did you play 5200 Qix on 8bit? I'll admit, I had a friend that had many hacked games. Lots. I never had seen 5200 Qix in 85.
  10. These commercials were awesome. So many great memories. I didn't see an Atari computer until late 84 and 85 when we bought our first 800xl. Games like 5200 Centipede, Countermeasure, Space Dungeon were either different or not around for the 8bit. 5200 Qix was better than the 8bit. I ended up using my XL for almost a decade into college.
  11. Spot on post. In 82-84, the 5200 was king along with Coleco as the best consoles. My friends that played the 5200 were amazed. 5200 had no bad games. People have forgotten Colecovision was discontinued only a year after the 5200 when computers and NES were the gaming options after the crash.
  12. 2063 - Stock 5200 Controllers, game, system, and cart w/Tube TV.
  13. It's been a while since I played that version but there were some annoying glitches.
  14. Original controllers (updated), 5200, and that stock tube TV. I do hook up the 5200 occasionally to a screen monitor but the tube TV is fun. Memories.
  15. The mods look actually cool. I just grew up with 5200 sticks.
  16. You've gone from sizing up and degrading Ray (a person with disabilties) by saying he's got "no assets. No savings. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that if he has a 401k with the Safeway, that's long since been drained...(and) his credit is shot. Over half his income is in SSI payments, which aren't subject to garnishment, and he's already paying more on the payday loans than he would have to if he just said "adios" and let them sue him....He's (Ray) going to be working part-time at the grocery store and living in a subsidized apartment for basically the rest of his life." Then you go on to say to Ray, "...but I do care what you do with yourself and with your money, and I genuinely do want to see you get your act together." You're a wreck and contradict yourself. Then you go and take jabs at my career, calling me names, mock my wife, and talk about all kinds of off tangent analogies (i.e.,Vitamin C). You don't know me. You don't know what I've been through. You mocking me calling professor is funny. I'll be the better man and congratulate you with the new baby and house. You should be thankful that you have a wife and a house where others are not as fortunate. I'll still kick your ass in Super Breakout. 🙂
  17. Like what I said before, take care of your personal business and play the Super Breakout game. If you can kick my ass, go for it. You're not the only one with the busy schedule...I've got a family too.
  18. Do you come to the 5200 AA forums to troll and make personal attacks on people here? Or are you here like the rest of us to talk about 5200 related topics? Remind me, are you going to take this months 5200 challenge and play Super Breakout or are you going to make excuses and back out in front of all these 5200 members?
  19. Dude, whatever excuse you got, go take care of your personal business. Then play the game. I don't care about what Ray does nor do I care about how you don't like Ray. I don't wish anyone harm. I came here to play and discuss about the 5200. If you want to make excuses and back out of a 5200 challenge, then message me when you're ready.
  20. Since you have a hard time with understanding your illogical reason, and now you're giving an example of "putting Ray to the firing squad would stop his out of control spending," I'll say it it layman's terms. You're comparing apples to oranges. You going yellow belly on me on a 5200 forum and a current 5200 challenge? Put up or shut up, dude. 🙂
