Does anyone know where I might find the ROM image for the Merry Christmas Demo? The one that has the Christmas tree and snow falling along with the scrolling Merry Christmas message at the bottom. I have it on cart but would like to get the ROM image for my AtariMax multicart. IIRC I got the cart from AtariMax for a donation I made. I want to say it was in 2009. It looks like the demo is a conversion from an 8-bit app (I'm guessing converted by AtariMax). Does anyone know anything about where it came from? Thanks, tjb

Thanks! For a new Adventure-type game with new mazes, items, and enemies check out Epic Adventure. I may as well have been living under a rock! Geez. All these cool new homebrews and I'm totally oblivious. At any rate, thanks for pointing me to your latest Magnum Opus, Epic Adventure! I loaded unto my Harmony cart and played it this evening. I was blown away to say the least! It takes the 2600 Adventure genre to a whole new level. I can't wait to pick up a copy on cart. Keep up the great work! tjb

I just discovered this game a few days ago and I must say, it's excellent! It retains the feel of adventure yet has some nice new features. Any chance of a new version with perhaps different mazes? tjb

I saw an ad for the FB 3 in a Walgreen's circular. It mentioned a micro-SD slot. From what I gather this is not true. Can someone confirm this? When I read about the micro-SD I was interested but if you only have the 60 built-in games I don't think it's really that big a deal personally. tjb

I have copies of Delphi 2005 (Professional Edition) and JBuilder 2005, 2006, 2007, & X (All Developer Editions) in box complete with license keys. I used to be a big fan of JBuilder before it morphed into an Eclipse plug-in. I figured there might be a pack rat out there somewhere like myself that might want these. tjb

Is this the machine Castle Crisis was originally written on? I'm just being silly. You probably used ATasm or something similar. tjb

Now you have 5 left tjb

I must have done something wrong. I tried using the ebay tag with the item number but it didn't work. Al will likely get mad at me but here's the full link: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 260847069076 I just saw another one (not new) for $475 BIN. What gives?! I know they aren't that common but I purchased one from 4 Jays a few years back and I think I paid something like $150 (or less). tjb Edit: Ok, what did I do wrong? Also, who fixed the link? Al? Mod?

It appears to be in mint condition but 1K?? Geez. Thoughts? eBay Auction -- Item Number: 260847069076 tjb

I know the original version was written in Action! but wasn't PRO 100% assembly? For that matter isn't PRO still being actively maintained? tjb

BBCS (Bulletin Board Construction Set from Antic for those unfamiliar with it) was a highly configurable, 100% ML, feature-rich BBS program. Sadly I believe it had a reputation for being unreliable and prone to crashing. While I like BBS Express I believe BBCS could have really taken off had it been rock-solid like BBS Express. Note that I'm comparing it to the original BBS Express not the later, module-based version. What was your experience with BBCS? tjb

Asteroids Simulator Source Code
tjb replied to invisible kid's topic in Atari 5200 / 8-bit Programming
I just came across this thread and the original one where you originally posted the binary. First off, I just wanted to say that it's a very nice piece of work. The sound effects and game physics are spot on and give it a feel that is very authentic to the original. I realize you have accomplished what you set out to and that you can't have more Asteroid objects on screen without slowing things down (given the techniques the program is using). Have you considered taking what you have and maybe turning it into a two player space war type of game? I think it would have great physics and be smooth as glass. Just a thought. BTW, you have inspired me to blow the dust off my own Rasteroids project and finish it. Your sound effects and physics are far superior to my own and I'm going to study your code and try and learn from it so that I might improve my own. Thanks for sharing your work with the community. It is much appreciated. tjb -
It's been a really long time since I did anything with this. I'm thinking of blowing the dust off this project and finishing it (finally). tjb

Well done! It looks great, very colorful. tjb

I clicked on an ad for a Senior Android Developer the other day (at Stack Overflow I believe). Turns out it was the company in Austin named Mutual Mobile. I clicked on management and guess who is their director of iOS development: none other than Russ Wetmore! Here's the link to his bio page: Russ Wetmore's bio @ Mutual Mobile This is probably old news to Al who lives "up in those parts" (North of me and "death valley" Texas). tjb

Bryan: I noticed Kjmann has Castle Crisis for sale. I was wondering: 1. Did he clear it with you. 2. If so, does he give you some sort of royalty for each copy he sells. Just curious. tjb
