  3. NOS = New Old Stock. An item you can't run out and buy because it's no longer available that's in new condition. tjb
  4. I don't think it's a dumb question at all. I'd like to know myself. I'd also be interested. tjb
  5. As far as the actual modding is concerned, do you offload any of it to Hoss and Adam? tjb
  6. That's one of the things I like about how you handle sales - you always keep the list up to date. Like you said, if it's on the list it's available. tjb
  7. Is this limited to the 2600? tjb
  8. I own one and am very pleased with it. I will say that it's not an 800XL but rather an upgraded 600XL with a "Atari XL" sticker over the 600XL name plate if that matters. The s-video quality is superb. I didn't think it was a bad price but others might say different. You might be able to get it cheaper if you get the machine and do the upgrade yourself. tjb Thanks for the response. I am not confident enough to do the upgrade myself, also how is it upgraded from the 600XL. I with you here. I'm not a hardware guy myself so I prefer to purchase systems that are already modded. The machine I purchased had a full 64K (instead of the stock 16K) and the composite/s-video mod. That's it. You can get it cheaper by simply upgrading an 800XL as mentioned previously. I just prefer not to mess with it. tjb

The picture is an 800XL but the machine I received was definitely a 600XL upgraded to 64K. I can't say as to whether or not you get a 600XL in all cases. I just know that's what I received. tjb

  11. This is a great! Now I can tell my wife that unless I keep buying stuff here at the Marketplace I will loose my ranking! tjb
  12. It's simple, you're not limited to one or the other. You can have both! For that matter add a 5200 into the mix. I think you'll find quite a few people here own several different systems and often times multiples of the same system. I know it's not practical to own them all but I do highly recommend getting a 8-bit computer. tjb
  13. Have you checked with Best Electronics? They may have it. tjb
  14. This is consistent with the behavior I was seeing. As you mentioned the stick is detected just like a normal Atari joystick and I can read when the B & C buttons are pressed. tjb
  15. I'm looking to blow the dust off my WIP Rasteroids game and finish it. It currently runs on the Atari 5200 and makes use of both fire buttons as well as the keypad. One of the suggestions for the 8-bit computer version (by Rybags IIRC) was to support the Sega Genesis controller since it provides more buttons. I wrote a small BASIC program to monitor memory locations 624 to 647 to try and determine if it would be possible to read all the buttons without having to use a modified controller. It would appear that the controller would need to be modified to make this happen. Is this true? Has anyone looked into this? tjb
  16. I recently purchased some Atari 5200 power supplies from thebiggw for a great price. He was super-easy to deal with and very accommodating. The power supplies arrived promptly and in great condition. I would not hesitate to do business with him in the future and highly recommend him. tjb
  17. I got an email this evening stating that the 2600 core is now available for the MCC and free to existing owners. Anyone have a chance to try it out? tjb
  18. Good things come to those who wait.... A few weeks late is no biggie to me. I've been waiting months on the Ultimate 1541 I ordered. If we could get them in January that would be fantastic! I'm excited! tjb
  19. FWIW, I had no problem with the sale and took advantage of it. tjb
  20. I just took delivery of system #3 and I must say that Yurkie did a superb job! The video is crisp and the controller enhancement makes a big difference! I highly recommend his work. tjb
  21. Purchased a nice TI-99 and a number of games from Christoph. He's easy to deal with and ships fast. I expect I'll be doing business with him in the future. tjb
  22. Are there any Apple IIc vendors out there? I looking for a IIc power supply and a joystick. Thanks, tjb
