  1. I'm confused... there's a video out on the IIgs. Why not just use that and a splitter from the headphone jack into the Framemeister? I just got a Framemeister recently and was planning to setup my IIgs soon to record game footage via an Elgato. I was planning to use my IIgs monitor and then use the video out at the same time. (Yes, you can do this.) So from the video out it would be IIgs ---> Frameister ---> Elgato ---> Monitor. Why the custom cables and SCART? What am I missing?
  2. So I'm slowly but surely reviving my website from long, long, ago.... VintageGamer.com. There is nothing at the domain as of yet, but a dear friend is helping with some of the web design aspects I don't know how to do, such as building a database. However, I have been busy on YouTube this past week... mostly Dreamcast and NES. I plan to upload A LOT of Apple II and IIGS game videos in the near future. Now that I actually have a few videos and a few subscribers, I was hoping for a little polite and constructive feedback. Video games videos on YouTube is a crowded space and I'm not trying to replace Classic Game Room or anything like that. I'm just doing it for fun. None of my videos are monetized, nor will I be monetizing them in the future. Also, unlike a lot of YouTuber's, I'm a recording the gameplay off the original hardware... no emulators here. My video are also unscripted. Anyway, I'd really appreciate any and all feedback and support. Thanks. -Mark
  3. I'd like to screen capture and record gameplay from my old Apple IIgs. Obviously I could set-up a camera in front of the monitor, but I thought there might be a better approach. Any idea how to run my IIgs through to a modern Mac? Yes I could just use an emulator, but that would't be nearly as much fun now would it? =)
  4. VintageGamer has reviewed Asphalt 6: Adrenaline for the Mac! Take a look... VIDEO REVIEW
  5. Next time you're in my neck of the woods! Just don't go to the one on Central, it's a freaky-deaky crackhouse type joint these days! Oh yeah... that's a scary part of town sometimes! When I go to Del Taco it's usually the one in the Coronado Mall.
  6. LOL... Looks like I'll be stopping at Del Taco the next time I'm in Albuquerque.
  7. Hey everyone! Here is my first video game review... AirAttack for the Mac. I'm not posting this so much for self promotion as I am because I'd appreciate some feedback from everyone here at AA. There's nothing I can do about my nasally sounding voice, but how's the rest of the video? Interesting? Boring? I'm thinking it's probably too long, but it's hard to evaluate you're own work. I'd appreciate some kind constructive criticism... but keep in mind it's my first game review. VintageGamer.com's AirAttack Review for Mac
  8. Arkhan... you summed up my thoughts exactly! Good reviews, but i'm not sure it'll hold my attention.
  9. Early to mid 1980s... look at the 2600 counterparts of their Arcade brethren... they don't even compare.
  10. Has anyone played Sorcery? It looks pretty sweet... kind of a fairy tail Irish thing going one. Wondering is it's any good?
  11. The IIgs improbably my favorite "game system" of all time!
  12. Hello everyone. My how time flies! VintageGamer.com is having a soft relaunch on 5.23.2012 with our first video review... "AirAttack" by Art in Games for the Mac. Since PopCap Games returned the VintageGamer.com domain to me I've been trying to plan things out and "do it right" this time. Please checkout and "like" our new Facebook page, subscribe on YouTube, and follow us on Twitter. I'll be doing at least one video review a week throughout the Summer as I work out the kinks, finish the new website, and try to rebuild an audience. Some reviews will be new games and some will be classics... we're gonna mix it up a bit! Facebook: http://www.facebook....VintageGamerInc YouTube: http://www.youtube.c...GamerInc/videos Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/vintagegamerinc I'd really appreciate some love and support from some of the folks here at AA. =)
  13. Hey everyone, it's nothing to get super excited about yet, but PopCap Games has returned ownership of VintageGamer.com to me. Just for fun, I'm rebuilding a small version of the site in FrontPage 4.0 just like it was 10 years ago. (A task I already regret starting.) I'll try to have the title lists and rarity guides for the NES and SNES that the old VintageGamer.com had back up sometime soon and I'll be doing a little blogging. Getting new Message Boards up are definitely the immediate priority though. This version is just for fun and just to get something back up at the domain. Fortunately my web design abilities are a hell of a lot better than they were 10 years ago so I'll start working on a much more modern and cool looking site later this summer. There is no definitive vision for the new VintageGamer.com... it'll probably just a melting pot of cool classic gaming stuff. Once I move next year, I want to try and rent out a back room in a bar and put in a small classic arcade. (I now own about a dozen machines and need to do something with them!) So it will be a website for my small arcade room if that ever materializes, also for NES stuff, and maybe just a cool place for more mature gamers to rant and rave about anything from Pole Position II to Gran Turismo 5. I know I'm very short on content right now, I know it looks like crap... I was trying to recreate what it looked like 10 years ago, and there is a lot to do and stuff to fix... but I though I'd go ahead and announce VintageGamer.com's return. It's far from awesome yet, but I will be trying to add something to it everyday. Please stop by if you have a moment, but do not expect anything that is even 1/100th of what AtariAge is... at least not yet. VintageGamer.com
  14. I still have my Apple IIgs... and we had so many games for that thing... I think I'll set it up for a couple of days and take some pics!
  15. Dreamcast was the first and only Sega system I have ever owned. I bought the black sports edition on night one a whim and it turned out to be a great decision. I didn't really think the Dreamcast would make it long term, so I wasn't disappointed when it was canceled. It had some great games and I enjoyed it much more than my PS1, PS2, or N64. At the time I was more about PC games than console games, but the Dreamcast was my go to console until I bought my GameCube in 2002.
  16. Sadly... I will be buying that. More sadly still... I have like 7 Monopoly Sets!
  17. Hi all, Just a reminder, I have several auctions ending in the next 4 hours and several more ending within the next day. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZohio_boundQQhtZ-1
  18. Hi All. I just added more NES listings to ebay... ALL ARE 3 DAY AUCTIONS! http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZohio_boundQQhtZ-1 I added an unlicensed NES game, a black box NES game, and a factory sealed semi-rare NES game. I will be adding more boxed an complete games to ebay in the next day or two. Please keep checking back. Thanks.
  19. Here is the link... thanks for looking.... http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZohio_boundQQhtZ-1
  20. I think Sega just isnt considered as desirable a collectible as Nintendo and Atari. Its too bad to, I have a lot of Dreamcast stuff including a limited edition black Dreamcast. I still think that of the Sega systems, the Saturn is the most over looked and will be worth a few bucks one day.
  21. It is a practically on heard of game, but "To the Earth" is a cool space shooter. Probably my 2nd favorite zapper game.
  22. I liked the original arcade game, and when Dragon's Lair 3d came out a couple years ago, I became a fan again. I have complete games for NES, GameBoy, and SNES. I don't care for the NES one, but the others are fun. Dragon's Lair 3D is still my favorite by far! I really recommend that game!
  23. I wish I could find a job I loved. I have been doing some interviewing lately... looks like I got a good shot at an Assistant Store Manager position with PepBoys. I love cars, don't mind retail, and enjoy management so hopefully this is a job I will be happy enough with to keep for sometime.
  24. Just picked it up today! I am really liking it so far. Anyone else get it yet? I really liked Rebellion when that came out a few years ago. I miss some of the Rebellion aspects, like the politics and legistics, but there is still more than enough to keep you occupoed and the battles scenes are awesome!
