The DS has been around in one form or another since 2004 and there sure is a lot of shovelware but if you dig through the garbage there are 100's of excellent games to choose from. I was wondering what your top personal favorites are? Let's make it the top 5. I am hoping to get some ideas for games I missed and hopefully it will do the same for others. my top 5 in no order Mario Kart New Super Mario Brothers Final Fantasy Crystal Chron. Echos of Time Professor Layton and the Curios Villag Arkanoid DS (I know it's not exactly an AAA title, but I find myself playing it when I want something to pick up and play) Some games that didn't make list because they are too new for me to give an opinion: prof layt diabolic box, scribblenauts, Kingdom Hearts, MnL Bowsers Quest. I just hvent spent enough time to rate them as my fav but they are all likely to mke the list.

did Super Mario Galaxy come out in 2007? If so I would say a tie for 1st. metroid is that good, to me it is by leaps and bounds better than the 1st and second and one of the best games for any system that year.

game looks like its fun unlike Space Giraffe, which despite being a huge fan of Minter and especially Tempest 2k and it's variants I just couldn't get into. He is the master of these types of games. It's a shame when I see games like the Bit Trip series on WiiWare that I know llamasoft could easily surpass. I would love to see Minter do a new Tempest for the consoles, but I doubt that will happen. I am happy with Tempest X and Typhoon 2001 for the Tempest fix these days, but I am rambling. Gridrunner Rev looks very impressive.

this looks awesome, but I hope we see another Metroid Prime eventually. Rumor has it that Retro studio will develop a Metroid FPS for the next gen Nintendo console coming in 2011.

awesome, I already figured out the "create at least 2 game save thing" the HARD WAY!!! LOL but I plan on starting the game over next week and doing everything right. Thanks for not spoiling the end in your post.

I understand they will be selling controllers with the motionplus this Christmas, so that might be just what you need.

It amazes me how people can have such diff experiences with the same platform. I love the Wii, I have a stack of great games. As far as what's coming out for Christmas, I don't know exact release dates, but I am looking forward to the new Metroid game and Dead Space Extraction as well as the ones you mentioned. Right now the newer games I am playing are Muramasa the Demon Blade, Pacific Liberator and also I hear good things about TMNT Smash, but I have not played it yet. Whatever, to each his own, but you don't exactly have a big library to draw from, there are tons of great games already released for you to explore: Metroid Prime, House of dead, no more heroes, excite truck, samurai warriors, little kings story, overlord, madworld, castle shikgami, deadly creatures, baroque, okami, ult alliance 2, chechanbara: bikini slayers, mario strikers, cursed mountain, warioland shake it are some you've missed and that is just off the top of my head. The real problem with the Wii is the same as the DS, the platforms have become so popular that there is shovelware being released on a level not since the Atari 2600!!! You need to dig thru the crap to get to the gems, but they are there even if they are not always the same titles/franchises that you see on the 360/ps3.

I can't wait. I can't think of Mario game I didn't go crazy for (well Super Mario Sunshine was only okay). I love New Super Mario Bros on the DS, so I can't imagine I will be able to hold out getting the Wii game for too long.

The talking dies down when you get a ways into the game, if you like Gauntlet trust me on this one the game get's really good, and later on the talking does fill you on things you need to know. The frame rate is not noticeably slow on my DSTT. Do you have issues regarding frame rate with any other games?

I told a friend I haven't talked to in a while I bought a Wii and she sent me her Wii # in email. What the is the purpose and practical application of this #?? I know what a friend code is for Mario Kart, but I don't get what the actual Wii # lets you do??? Thanks!!!

thanks I vaguely remember doing this either in the tutorial (if there was one) or the beginning of the game... I will try it first thing!!

Fusion combos revive downed characters, so if you are down to two, use a fusion and get your full team back. Do you have a save file in addition to your Autosave? Any save file you make yourself should reload you at SHIELD point where you can swap characters... BTW, I just unlocked Green Goblin and Songbird, maybe my two new favorite characters. Green Goblin RULES. refresh my memory how do I use a fusion again?

I made the mistake of not making enough saves. One thing I regret is the team I picked for the castle (Ice Man, Ms Marvel, Wolverine, and Spiderman) did not work out so well later in the game and when I got to the HQ, I think it's called Starks something or other I could of switched heroes, but didn't, because I didn't save enough I am stuck at this point where I have just Ms. Marvel and Ice Man and they are pretty much useless to get by the boss area. If I don't figure out some strategy with these two in the next game I will need to go way back and start over :-( but it's a lesson learned, don't make the same mistake I did!! lol

at least you can get on the Nintendo Channel. I haven't been able to for some reason in a month. I get the same error either with the upgraded one.

It does retain all the hardware, so in theory you should be able to run GBA games without emulation, but Nintendo has not released any GBA games as DSI Ware. If they did it wouldn't take long for the homebrew community to reverse engineer the game to figure out how to run them in native mode, but until that happens (if it happens) it's likely this will be your best bet.

It was bound to happen sooner or later, GBA emulation on the DSi and it looks pretty good too!!! You need a special flash cart (iPlayer) , which has a cpu on it that was designed to play movies, but can also provide the boost needed to emu a GBA in software on the DSi. check out the video:

I havent heard anything more about it :-( but I am still hoping. Oh and Video I agree Ghostbusters on the DS wasn't as good as the console versions, but I dont have a problem with brightness?!? Not sure what you are talking about... it's an okay game.. I've played a lot worse on the DS!! I would take the GI Joe game over it anyday. Ghostbusters on the DS is a good game to buy for 10 bucks in the bargain bin.

as per the advice of some here in another thread, I picked this game up.. Holy shit, Marvel Ult Alliance 2 is a lot of fun!! I am a huge fan of these style of games and I loved comic books, but this is a great game regardless. I was worried it would be ruined by some waggle gimmicky features that a game like this seriously doesn't need, but it's not. I am having a lot of fun. Is the 1st one just as good? If I get good feedback from you guys I will need to get it. As far as Hulk, after the 1st level you see him as one of the heroes you can put in your team, but it says "this hero is locked." I really love playing as Ice Man, if Hulk is locked all thru the game that is a total rip, but like someone else said if there is a code that unlocks him then it will be common knowlege.. infact I bet I could get it out of the guys at Gamestop if I really tried. Anyway awesome game, now will someone tell me about part 1?

In other news, Atari announced today it will be releasing the Jaguar 2 in Q1 2010!!

There is this stuff... I'm sorry I can't rem the name of it and neither can anyone else... but it is for removing scratches in plastic. It goes on like a white wax, but it really works.. someone else on here might know what I am talking about. Alternatively Dealextreme is selling excactly what yuou need for like 5 bucks shipped new, it' s a complete atomic purple GBC case replacement! I don't want to sound like a jerk, because I have a GBC atomic purple myself, but it sits lonely in the closet because the GBA is so much better, although in bright sunlight you can't beat the GBC plus it has a cool retro look.

I recently picked up a Gamecube controller and memory card for my Wii. I had a Cube back in the day but was disillusioned by the lack of software and early death of the platform... anyway, my main reason for getting into Gamecube again, was to finish a game I started on the PS2 called Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance. I really love this game. The Gamecube version is slightly better looking, especially with my new component cables on the Wii. That's great but I did a quick search of the net and none of the other games based on this engine made it to the cube (Bards Tale, Norrath and the sci-fi one I never found on the ps2 i surely not avail on the cube)... this is why I switched allegiance to the PS2 to begin with,so my question is: are there any new games like this coming out for Wii, PS3 or 360? I can't be the only one who loves these action rpgs!!! I only have a Wii at the moment, but I after playing some of the new Batman game this past week on the PS3, I am seriously feeling left out with Nintendo's console, so I plan on getting another eventually... Anyone else love these games? Have any suggestions? Even PC games like this would be nice, even older games on the PC would be welcomed suggestions. I am beginning to think I should hone my prograamming skills and get off my butt and try to make one myself!!

thats the only 4 2600 games an they are just ports. I understand this game is a real stinker, not even worth downloading never mind buying!
