      If you're looking for painless OS updates, take a look at some Linux distros. Most can install updates without requiring a restart. I've been using Solus for several years now, and at most I just need to log out and log back in once the kernel is updated.

      I have lots of computers that work great and have no updates - my c64, apple 2c, atari XE... I don't take them online, though... ;)
