The "special ending" is a small epilogue tying up some of the issues within the game. Much of which I kind of guessed at. And possibly opening the way for a sequel...
-
Nah, not really... it's only the fact that the two different 7800s are incompatible means I'm stuck buying the versions I have to. Otherwise I would have an NTSC 7800 and proper stock. Hmm... now if that proposed 7800 with S-video comes out, THEN there'd be a chance

@Mitch... fair dues... but HES were notorious on the C64 for not licensing some of their cart output @Jet Boot Jack... I have Super Skateboarding but that's about it. If you've got complete PAL copies of the other Absolute games and Double Dragon spare, let me know! Actually I already have the Double Dragon box... it was also used for HES' C64 cart release of the game. Ultra rare that one...

One question... well maybe it's two. Will the normal "Thrust" be available, or just the SE? And would it be possible to buy the SE without the footpedal controller, as I already own one? Would save on space/weight bringing it back to the UK
-
To my knowledge, there is no PAL Asteroids cart. Only 8 NTSC only games? Well I'd still include the ones HES put out because: a) they're bloody difficult to find b) they may not have actually been officially licensed At least I have Tank Command heh
-
Zero... take Collosus Chess 4, it's probably the best program for the C64. And damn good as well...

Is it me, or are buyers on eBay getting dumber by the day...

428 positive, 316 uniques, 0 neutral, 0 negative since Jan 99. Guess I get the intelligent sellers/bidders -

I've managed to stay 100% positive for now... I do wonder though from time to time... -
That is a bargain...! Pity I didn't see that one either, would have made good trade fodder
-
Well exactly... people are always going to have a favourite console/computer, usually the one they've spent the most time with. Arguing about it will never get a definitive answer! For the C64 it's been 18 years since it appeared one morning on the table. We only had a 2600 for 2 years or so beforehand, but the games we did get I recall being fun. Slightly different light now admitedly, but 20 years ago, they seemed great Of course the C64 0wnz 2600 and Odyssey in the number of games made But you know I'll be supporting 2600 because I had one...
-
Oi! The C64 will ALWAYS be king to me... but as I owned a 2600 before I got it, then it will have a place also... the queen perhaps? Seriously though, there's very little left for me to get C64 cart wise, so my attention will naturally wander to 7800 stuff I still need and 2600 specials

Well, 7800 Marco heh Seeing as I have the Venture 2, and am down for #8 of the limited "Mental Kombat" game... and going to CGE... might start collecting special releases for other systems than the C64. Christ, there's little left for me to get there Anyhow, the Magicard might be too rich even by my manic bidding standards... I said MAYBE!

Definitely Mitch... in my experience, you'll get three types of possibility: Small glitches - nothing too major, just the odd graphical problem or wrapping of the screen (as a PAL system has 100 extra lines to NTSC). Examples here being Ms Pacman, Water Ski, Tank Command. Huge glitches - game runs, but is practically unplayable due to the fact most if not all of the screen is glitched up. Examples here being Touchdown Football, Ninja Golf. Crash - game doesn't run, or crashes a few seconds in. Examples here being Midnight Mutants, Summer/Winter Games, Robotron. I believe I own all the regular Atari PAL 7800 releases... I'm just after a few NTSC only ones (Summer Games, both Baseballs) and the hard to find HES releases... @Salkatt... I have a number of PAL 7800 games for trade, all boxed and complete. PM/Email me if you are interested...

I'll bring my Cruiser Powerplay

Try telling that to the people who pay $80 for Ultima 1 and $120+ for Ultima 2, or the hoards after complete C64 cartridges that appear on eBay (myself included). Take a trip to my website and check the carts out... you can't then tell me it hasn't taken blood and money to get where I currently am! I'm just glad I kept all my software from the 80s/90s and never sold anything off. A lot of people today are VERY jealous of the amount of items I own, because they did get rid of their collections at some points. But that's just me, I'm loathe to chuck anything out God knows how much I'd get if I put it all up for sale...!

Copying C64 software back in the day (past around 85/86) was actually rather tricky, but with the right skills, tools and expertise, it could be done. Hence all the cracking groups. It wasn't something your average person could just do. Well not in Europe at least. Copied software has NO value apart from the disc it is on today. Practically all games ever released are somewhere on the net, which you can download and transfer onto a floppy and play on a real C64. A lot of originals DO have value... mainly RPGs (Ultima, Wizardry, SSI etc), adventures (Infocom, Rainbird), curiosities (eg MULE), cartridges (for obvious reasons) and various other hard to find items.
-
Any chance of making a list of the C64 discs? I might be interested in them!
-
That's a lot less than what I paid... but it was one of those "see it and grab it now cos you don't know if it'll come up again" type things you all can relate to...
-
We sold all our 2600 stuff in late 83, so our Warlords should have come before then...
-
You absolutely, positively gonna get this one Marco?

Ladies n Gents - the winner - "Nice Picture,IDIOT!"
Mayhem replied to tiggerthehun's topic in Auction Central
Erm... Pacman x2, Adventure, Asteroids, Skiing, Maze Craze, Missile Command... dunno on the rest! -
My Warlords box way back then was orange too...
-
Just got a complete copy of 7800 Tank Command through the mail. In great condition! So I'm happy now... just need a couple of the other NTSC only games and the prototypes... and if I ever find the PAL HES releases, I'll be a lucky man!
-
Oh boy, this one's gonna be vicious! It hasn't been up a day, and it's already over $500! Hmmm.... to bid, or not to bid...!
-
//dodges the wrath of Marco!!! It's going to Europe at least. Well it was for a good cause too... and something very nice to look at and play I am hoping Will no doubt try to pick up a few more at CGE this year...
