  1. Mmmm proto goodness... well think about it... sodding financial systems going down the pan at the moment, might be an interesting "investment" prospect Having said that, anyone who knows me, knows that I don't sell anything I acquire unless it's a duplicate...!
  2. @StanJr - she had a car accident a couple of days before the show and hence couldn't make it @Albert - hey, I'm actually in a couple of these heh... I was chatting to Warren about Adventure and some other stuff in the one face shot pic taken (most of the time pics are of the back of my head!). And then not mentioned in the caption, typical That pic of Matt Reichart in the "tear down" page is a classic though
  3. All the other homebrews I got at CGE were fine... SCSIside has a couple of little glitches but nothing major. So I'm a bit disappointed as the game is great. The picture rolls constantly a la trying to play PAL on NTSC, that's what the problem is. Plus the left/right doesn't work in game...
  4. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1374521800 As I sadly can't play it in the UK
  5. Paul... did you get my email with the cart board picture?
  6. @Rasty - you get my email I sent a few days back? Asking if you're gonna do a PAL version of "Space Treat", cos it's NTSC only @BigPlayer - oh I was doing that, but the sodding pods still refused to budge most of the time. How close do you have to get? Seemingly a lot more so than the C64 version... @Thomas - perhaps offer both control methods? I'll be looking to get the deluxe version, as I said, I already have a footpedal at home
  7. I got to play 2600 Thrust at CGE and was definitely impressed. Am trying to get a copy of the newer version from Albert at some stage (just the game) cos I already own a footpedal One comment on the control method however. I found it hard to turn and thrust at the same time (almost an essential part of the C64 original which I love to death) using the current control setup. I would have prefered the following: L/R - rotate L/R Fire - thrust Up - fire Down - shield/tractor beam I also found it almost impossible to tractor beam the pods off the surface! How do you do that properly?
  8. So my problem with "Marble Craze" might be due to running it on a 7800? I am thinking of getting a proper 2600 anyhows...
  9. That would be my argument too: why buy just a controller for $100 when you can get the whole system for that price. I'd not pay more than $40 for another controller personally...
  10. Generally I try to leave feedback on all the deals I do... and just ask for the other person (if the seller) to leave it for me if they haven't already done so by the time I get the item. Then I just wait and see. Might take a day, a week, or in a couple of cases 2 months (I think they batch the feedbacks!), but most people have left it for me...
  11. Things have been so busy for Joe that the newsletters have been delayed. Issue #48 is finished and ready to go, as I saw it at CGE. Just as well you pay a subscription per issue than per timeframe
  12. Any reason why Space Treat was $25 at CGE? Or was I overcharged? A pity, cos it's a good game but doesn't work on PAL
  13. Trust me, it's worth the wait //proud owner of DP Guide #7
  14. Ah so many things to say, so little time. Being my first CGE this was a complete blast! Props to all the great people I met, including Adrian and Matt who've already written above. And Adrian, you didn't scoop the last Marble Craze, I did Definitely gonna come back next year...
  15. Asterix. French. About the only French thing I like besides the bread As for the lyres killing him... presumably this is due to him not being a fan of Cacophonix's singing...
  16. Here's one thing I know you can't do: look at the auctions someone from Germany is currently bidding on. That country's privacy laws apparently prevent this so you can't do it. The search option on the German eBay site has no "bidder" tag either...
  17. @Spector... yes, there's a Miner2049er parts 1 and 2 for the 2600 The C64 version of both games are pretty damn good...
  18. DOA = Dead On Arrival... a medical term when the patient is not alive by the time the ambulance reached the hospital. Also used to refer to a cart which fails to work when you get it...
  19. After GR++... well there could be something with one of the big console companies... but it's all hush hush at the mo (he can't say anything yet) and it may not happen...
  20. Or preferably go here: http://www.llamasoft.co.uk Where you can download demos of the two games finished so far (Hover Bovver and Deflex) and chart the progress of the new BADASS game coming very soon, Gridrunner++. I met up with Yak over the weekend and the latest build really kicks
  21. Zelda and F-Zero are next year... what more could you ask for?!
  22. The shots of Impossible Mission used are from the C64 version also...
  23. No, that isn't what I was saying. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you NEED a broadband connection to get online with an X-box. You can (or will be able to) get online with DC, PS2 or GC with a normal 56k modem. When less than 15% of the European community have access to broadband, then the choice of console is a little easier if you want to play online! However 90% of all console owners will probably never go online anyhows... That still doesn't have a big impact on the sales figures of the 3 main consoles at this time. It should be down to the type of games you want to play. And apart from in the US, gamesplayers worldwide don't think that the X-box provides good enough entertainment to warrant purchase. Which explains its horrible sales figures. Hell, the Wonderswan outsells the X-box in Japan! As for the quality of games, there's only one company that you can almost guarentee buying a game from before reading any reviews, because you know it's going to be good. That company is Nintendo. And you can only play these games on their console. Which is why buying a GC is almost a necessary, even if it isn't your primary console...
