Hi all, I just wanted to share a new homebrew I just finished up - Bit quest II. If you played the original, then I would say Bit Quest II is a logical evolution of that idea - it's much bigger and has more variety. It's an adventure-type game with an overworld and several dungeons with hidden items. It's sort of inspired by the original Zelda, along with games like Venture and Adventure for the 2600. It also incorporates a lot of feedback I received around the original. In any case, hope you enjoy! Some notes: * Joystick to move, fire button to attack. (Full instructions included) The premise is, the hero from the first Bit Quest is captured, so you have to rescue him. There are 4 keys hidden throughout the world which will unlock the final dungeon. * Uses DPC+ so you'll need to play in a compatible emulator, like Stella. * Max hearts can be increased by finding heart containers, and you can continue after a game-over. * (NEW) Sub-screen with Game Select switch Attached are some screenshots, and the download link is below. If you're interested in checking out my other homebrews including the first Bit Quest, my Atari page is here: http://atari.metalbabble.com/ Thanks & have fun! UPDATE: I've made a few tweaks to the game since the initial post, thanks to some great ideas and feedback. I'm taking the attachments off the post - to help streamline things. The up-to-date latest version of the ROM is up on my site. Direct download link below: ** CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD **

I have been picking up Atari 2600 games for a little while, but only recently got a Retron 77 to play them with. I am running Stella 6 Beta. While at a used game store the other day, I grabbed what I thought was a 2600 cartridge. The clerk told me it was actually an Intellivision cartridge. I know many Intellivision carts have an angled top with a label, and he said to look for a Mattel copyright to tell the difference. I had one cart like that at home, and assumed I bought an Intellivision game by mistake. After I hooked up my Retron 77, I looked at the cartridge (Dark Chambers) and it looked as if it was compatible. I put it in, and it worked. I know the 2600 was not compatible with Intellivision games, and I can't find anything about the Retron 77 or Stella 6 being able to run them. I also am having a lot of trouble finding images of the connecting side of Intellivision carts. I can only assume this was a game made by Mattel for the 2600, but can anyone tell me the best way to determine the difference going forward. Thanks.

======================== EDIT: These items are no longer available. ======================== I recently came into possession of a decent sized collection of Atari gear. I grew up playing games and computing on similar Atari hardware so I'm somewhat familiar with the gear. Despite most of the gear being in excellent condition, it was destined for a trip to the electronics recycler. Recognizing the historical significance of the gear, I snatched it up to ensure that it can live on. I'm looking to sell and redistribute the gear to the community of enthusiasts here to ensure that it can be preserved and enjoyed for many more years. I spent many hours cataloging, testing hardware, photographing everything, and uploading photos. I've done my best to test and verify the functionality of most of the gear in this listing. You can see a list of everything that I have here: https://bit.ly/2qeRtAA Each item includes link to an imgur.com posting with photos. Most items also include a note about the condition of the item. Sorry, it's not the most convenient way to view everything in one shot but it works for me. I didn't include prices on my spreadsheet as I don't really have the time to determine the value of each item. In many ways, the value is really determined by the community here anyway. I would simply ask, if you would like to make an offer for anything on the list, make it a reasonable offer. Also, keep in mind there are shipping costs. Some of the larger items may incur significant shipping costs. I can certainly offer local pickup for anyone in my area. I'm located in south central Pennsylvania (York, PA area). https://goo.gl/maps/bWMy8WTxebmbAu54A Contact me via email or PM if you're interested.

Still clearing out unused items from my collection.... Please PM if you have any questions. I would have to charge additional shipping outside the continental US. ======================================================================== /|\ All Atari manuals (qty 34) $42 shipped ======================================================================== I'm happy to sell individually, but I'll need you pick up the postage in that case. One last thing, I'd take $42 ***OBO*** shipped for all the manuals (34 total: 4-Lynx, 9-2600, and 21-7800 manuals) ======================================================================== /|\ Atari Lynx manuals (qty 4) $10 plus shipping ======================================================================== They're all in good shape. I bought them all new. ======================================================================== /|\ Atari 2600 manuals (qty 9) $14 plus shipping ======================================================================== These are in good shape. I bought them all new. ======================================================================== /|\ Atari 7800 manuals (qty 21) $30 plus shipping ======================================================================== These are in good shape. I bought them all new. ======================================================================== Apple II shoe box of discs--mostly games $32 plus shipping ======================================================================== I got these years ago. They came with an Apple IIe that I bought back in the day. They are backups and not originals. There are a lot of floppies here. And many have multiple games on them. I can't test them, so I don't know how well they still work. I'm offering these "as is". ======================================================================== /|\ Atari Lynx in need of screen help $58 shipped ***SOLD*** ======================================================================== Age is showing on the screen of this Lynx. Basically, this is a great candidate for a modern screen upgrade. There is lots of vertical banding--which sucks. But everything else works great on this Lynx--which is nice. This is from my person collection, like all the items here. Is this your first Lynx? I'll throw in a loose game cart so that you can test the unit as soon as it arrives.

Hi guys. We have released a very big update do the web-based emulator Javatari. http://javatari.org It now has a new interface designed for mobile devices with touch-screen controls. Finally run Atari 2600 games on your iPhone/iPad! :-) Also, it can be installed on the device as a WebApp, then you can launch it directly through the app icon. In this mode it also works when offline! Several advancements were brought from the WebMSX project (http://webmsx.org). You can very easily put games on your own page, or show games running in the web with a single link to the Javatari page. Just pass the ROM URL address... Please refer to the project homepage for the docs and examples: https://github.com/ppeccin/javatari.js Some images on an iPhone6: Enjoy! Paulo

EDIT: BREAKOUT 2000 SEQUEL RELEASED! Download the sequel for the SuperCharger from the Atari 2600 forum thread BREAKOUT 2002 LASERBEAMS NTSC Improvements: More action, a score, a level indicator and a goal - make it to the playable treasure room ending scene on level 10! For Zero or more Players! CPU plays both characters, players can join in any time! Camera follows the Ball and only the Ball has Laserbeams, the Atari Logo is much harder to play, like Tails. Characters can perform a forward roll through any contiguous line of bricks, also influenced by the Sonic series. LASERBEAMS controls are reversed, button conserves the Laser because who doesn't want to use it all the time? ? The Logo can only be Killed with a Direct Hit, similarly a glancing blow from the Logo is non-fatal; it must nail the Ball head on. Additional cool game tunes and musical effects, I'm planning to post the BASIC source code on the programming forum to share the techniques. Have fun, have a ball! Comments and questions welcome! Older version below with support for the Flashback Portable, haven't recompiled a version of the new one yet. BREAKOUT2000_V2_SuperCharger.bin BREAKOUT2000_v2_AFP.bin (Slight difference - the SuperCharger version can reach the top row) SuperCharger audio file: BREAKOUT2000_V2_SuperCharger.wav

Now let me start by saying I have done extensive research into this. I'm aware of all ways of connecting an atari to a modern TV, but what I really need is an opinion on wether my specific issue is my own stupidity, or the TV just won't do it. The TV is: http://www.vizio.com/e65c3.html I'm using the RCA to coax adapter. Directly connecting it to the TV via coax and switching to this input yeilds no result. I connect the Atari to the input of a VCR, then connect the composite output to the TV. I can get the VCR to play tapes over the TV, both video and audio, but I cannot get the Atari to display through it. Is it possible that the VCR is not a good enough demodulator/converter for this modern of a TV? Is there usually some menu option you need to tinker with to get a digital TV to detect the input (either directly or through a VCR). Is it possible that this TV just doesn't have the capability I need to play the Atari on it?

Looking for my first TAC-2 joystick for Atari 2600. I plan to use it primarily on my recently acquired TI-99/4A with the Atari joystick adapter, as I feel it matches the black and silver color scheme of that computer really well. It might get some action on my XEGS and 7800, too. Please shoot me a PM if you have one you're willing to part with. Thanks!

I’m working on making some new 2600 touchpads from scratch complete with custom shells. I am also working on making overlays that have the same purpose as the original touchpad overlays, to label each button so you know what you’re doing by pressing each one. I wanted something to do and thought this would be a fun project. I’m not sure how rare they are so I don’t know if anyone else would want/need one. Each touchpad will come with one overlay for the game of your choice. Once I know how many people are interested, I’ll provide an update with a price as I would like to buy all the parts at once to keep each touchpad as low priced as possible for both me and anyone who wants to buy one, and I don’t want to over- or underestimate the part costs. I will also provide picture updates as I get through the prototyping stages. If anyone knows where I can find a list of games that used the touchpad, that’d be much appreciated as it would let me know how many overlays I need to design. As far as I can tell, the link in the 2600 Archives results in a 404 so I’ll need another source.

Anyone stateside collect PAL for 7800 or will I be shipping these overseas? Free shipping to the US; worldwide I'll eat a portion of the shipping costs. Mario Bros. Planet Smashers Motor Psycho Impossible Mission I also have H.E.R.O. for the 2600 (PAL), which comes with the manual and a high-quality scan plastic case. If these were NTSC, I'd make triple this! Oh well... All games have been cleaned and tested and are assuredly PAL format despite only two of them having the "P" stickers on the back. Please see the pictures for an exact condition of everything. Looking for $35 OBO for the four (4) 7800 games as a lot (would consider splitting up) and $35 OBO for HERO w/manual and custom plastic case. Shoot me a PM to chat further and finalize things. Cheers.

So I had problems with my 2600 so I decided to try my hand at the AV Mod. I did all the work, it doesn't look great but I hoped it would work, but it didn't. Is anyone able to see what I did wrong and if I can fix it? https://imgur.com/a/xY43JRJ
