From the album: My Collection
I did not do this, This was done back in the 80's by somebody who REALLY liked this controller and wanted to use it on their Atari computer (Probably) The controller does function but the controls are reversed forcing the player to hold it backwards, also it has a dead zone the size of Kansas, all or nothing whatsoever. Yes That is Duct Tape-

A buddy of mine has had this Keystone Kapers with an upside down label for a while now and didn't know what to do with it. So i'm putting some photo's up here to see if anybody would be interested in it. I don't know if this is a unique error or if it's anything to really get excited over, but it's cool and weird.

I can see why this didn't sell well back in the day. -
I have a bunch of Atari 2600 game carts but they are missing their respective game case and manual, so I am looking to buy a few game boxes for them.

This is it! The original pack-in title for the Atari 2600 in the original pack-in box! It's much shinier than I first thought.-

There are two versions of this game out there. One that has an instruction manual (Just a piece of paper) and nothing but an image of a controller on the back, and one with the instructions printed on the back. This is the version with the Instructions on a piece of paper.-

I got this cartridge recently at the Cowlitz Retro Gaming Expo, but I'm having a hard time identifying it... Is it the Taiwan Cooper River Raid? Also, when I play it, the game seems slightly off from an original... like it's displaying differently than an Activision original on the TV for some reason...

Hiho everyone, New on my list of reproduction boxes/manuals are the three Answer Software games Malagai, Confrontation and Gauntlet. As you might know, Answer Software worked with rather generic boxes (black blank front, only differences are the name tags on the right side of the box), instead they glued the manual onto the box. Right now I have 10 4 sets ready to go. Content of the offer: 3 game boxes (Malagai, Confrontation, Gauntlet, NO GAME INCLUDED, repros are available through the AA store) 6 manuals (2 for each game) I won't glue the manuals onto the box, the owner can glue it if he wants to. The whole set costs EURO 60 (free shipping worldwide, payment Paypal only). If you are interested in single games: I'll add them to my regular list soon. Right now I only offer the set. Hope you like what you see, Marc.

*PRICE DROP*: $40 per controller shipped, or $75 for the pair. I have for sale two handheld button style controllers based on the Asteroids arcade panel/Starplex Controller. Price is $40 each, shipped in the US only, by Priority Mail. The white buttons are Left and Right, respectively. Green is up (Thrust), Blue is down (Warp) and Red is the fire button. These work great for Asteroids and most games that uses that control scheme. These also work very well for certain other games which don't require quick up/down input or diagonals (like Joust.) Of course this controller would be awful for anything needing quick up/down input or diagonals. Vinyl overlay is a glossy carbon fiber. New cases, new no-brand buttons, with vintage cords from otherwise junk controllers.

Does Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure contain a VCS/2600 Emulator to run the Atari 2600 version of Pitfall? I don't think so. I would like to be wrong. Over the years Activision has managed to port Pitfall fairly faithfully from the Atari 2600, Atari computers, Intellivision, all while looking about the same. They took a slight divergence with the ColecoVision, but all this to say Activision has had the ability to port their games and keep the same look and feel. So to me it was not surprising that they could do it yet again with the Atari Jaguar. And that's all fine and good, but what I am bringing to this age old debate/mystery? Since this is practically hexediting/emulation month for me (sprite hacking in past months) I thought I would look for the hex values of the original 2600 Pitfall. Now previously I had said on the VirtualVCS thread that I looked for these values in the Jaguar Pitfall image and did not find them. Then I realized that the Jaguar cartridge image was in a compressed format. At one time I was guided to use a program called Multi Ripper or "mrip260.zip" as it can be found on the internet for unpacking a compression format that Imagitec tends to use from the Rob Nothern Computing or RNC for short. The multiripper can look for these files and it spits out... a bunch a files with the .RNC extension. This worked really well in breaking down Bubsy: Fractured Furry Tales into graphics, map, music, and other files, though I had to pull (with help) the file directory to rename most of those files. Still have some to identify or file, but found like 90% that way. So I did the same to Pitfall tonight and looked for the opening "78D8 A200" characters of 2600 Pitfall throughout all the RNC files that Jag Pitfall spit out annnnddd... no match. But this might not be the end. As you can see in the picture above there is the RNC in the text portion, leading me to wonder if this needs to be further unpacked? But tonight I took it through at least one level of compression and found nothing so far. (File contains the unpacked files I looked through if others want to do more digging and comparison.) Pitfall.zip
