Approaching my 35th year collecting colecovision I decided it's about time I shared my collection for my favorite console! Hopefully I can add more specific item pics in the future too. Back last thanksgiving I built custom shelves to display my nearly complete pre Nintendo USA based console game collection. It holds over 1200 boxed games. This is the colecovision section holding my complete cib collection of the original 140 released games, plus a few variants. And this last week I built some more generic shelves to hold my coleco hardware. I call it the wall of coleco. just about everything fit on except my telstar arcade that was slightly too tall which is now just to the left of the main wall and a couple astrocades took it's planned spot. Also my Dina 2in1 is not up there yet. Maybe something else too.....can't think what else there is?? I know I need 3 more telstar systems to have all 14 of those. The cib colecovision system is the one I got for christmas in the early 80s! Well hope you enjoy!

Hi, apologies for this question. I am not an expert in electronics. I have been searching for a replacement of a photo sensor used on COLECOVISION roller ball controller. Attached a partial schematic of the rollerball controller, one of the sensors has failed. I have confirmed everything else works perfectly by reposition the working sensor in place of the bad one. I get no movement, no reading from the bad one. Also I added few pictures of the sensor. I could not find anything on this part number, or the manufacturer. I then opened it, and would like to see if someone can help me confirming what kind it is. What would its internal schematics look like? Is this a photo transistor and a IR diode? There are a few sensors out there with similar dimensions, however I am not sure on the correct positioning of the pins vs. the original. The original has a #1 on the pin that connects to as shown (please consider this is a mirrored image because they are opposite when turning them around to face each other.) I tried to show it better in the other picture, where I wrote the correct pin # orientation. Hopefully someone can confirm with a diagram to be able to find a replacement. I need to know where the cathode/anode should be and the Collector/emitter should be. (if indeed this is a transistor) Thanks in advance for your input. Al

Hey there! Looking for a good price on a functioning Colecovision and power supply. A RF cable and controllers are not needed, as I am looking to replace an old non-functioning system.

One minor flaw with ambidextrous joysticks
tripletopper posted a topic in Classic Console Discussion
I noticed one thing unusual about right handed joysticks. The Sega-made Sega Master System joystick, which has a right handed joystick, maps left-to-left, which means if you’re rapid firing the 1 button, you’re rapid firing with your middle finger if you want access to both buttons simultaneously, and boy, that is tiring. Thankfully, the Beeshu joystick for the Master System and Turbo Grafx 16 have a right-handed stick mode, AND the buttons are mapped with the main button on the index finger. (the one you press fastest) which for most games work perfectly. But I own one game for the TG-16, and know of another I might like which might a problem with, has the buttons reversed. Namely Side Arms, and possibly Pac-Land have te same problem. With a normal joypad and a Turbo Stick, and the Beeeshu Ultimate Stick when left handed, have Left shoot in Side Arms and (assuming the controls are the way I think) Left Run on the Left, and the respective rights on the right. I also own a Colecovision Tutankham and Front Line, which have a similar problem. But because the right handed mapping is Index-to-index, It’s reversed. I don’t know if the controllers are as easy as a pin swap or not. I know some machines are, some machines aren't. I also assume it’s cheaper to buy a physical pin swapper for a system that works for instead of an electronic converter, especially if one doesn’t currently exist. If a PIn-swap adapter can be made for the TurboGrafx 16 that a) is cheaper than the Tototek PS2-> TG16 adapter, and b) has less delay because there’s no processing, I’d like to purchase one, and use it with my Beeshu. But if not, I’ll use a PS2 -> TG16 adapter from Tototek and flip the buttons on my discrete input telephone operator switchboard device. By the way, I only see 2-button mapping for the TG16 on the Tototek website, I heard Street Fighter has a 6 button mode, and Forgotten Worlds has a 3 button mode. Any other "more than 2 button" games I should be aware of? And does anyone own a Tototek PS2-> TG16 or PC Engine adapter, AND a 3 button and/or a 6 button game? Also wondering if any games for a pre-Genesis system have a similar problem with righthanding the game. Especially ones where there is no software-based button swap option. -
Hi, first time poster long time unregistered lurker. I work for a small game shop, and awhile ago a regular customer of ours traded in these prototypes "Pitfall" "Stampede" an untitled cart, and "Pitfall 2" I've been tasked with selling these, and we plan to list these on eBay. I tried searching this site before posting this to see if there was any other posting about Prototypes, saw one about Stampede but that was all. Before I do that however, I wanted to know if these were worth attempting to find someone to rip the data off of them? I have no idea if there is anything worth saving off these carts, or if theres anyone in the Twin Cities MN area that might be interested in doing that? I feel like before having a collector stash them away forever it'd be in the best interest of preservation, and history to save the data. I'm not going to post the eBay link here, as it hasn't been made nor am I looking to do on here, not looking for publicity, but besides asking for someone who may be interested in copying the data, is there any clue as to what these are worth? Is there something I can go off of to get an idea? I can find little to no information posted online, so I am looking for ideas there as well. Thanks for any responses!

I got a hold of 10 universal game cases recently, and just for my own personal pleasure, I customized one for my Burn Rubber prototype cart. This is a totally amateur job, but these cases really do look good and are an ideal solution to storing some of the more "precious" loose carts. A slight mod is required to allow CV carts to fit, but they will fit satisfactorily. Anyone else customize some of these themselves?

I was thinking about the Parker Brothers boxes for the Colecovision and I remembered that they released two diferent kinds of boxes. In order to see which box is favored, I've set up this poll, and I'm curious to see which box gets more votes. Note: This poll is just for which box design is better, not for the games released in the boxes. If I had to pick one it'd be the Two-Piece boxes, as I think they are more unique.

Hey everyone - unfortunately I have to part ways with this colecovision. Its a Canadian version (NTSC). Comes with two working controllers that Ive taken apart and cleaned. Theyre fine. Also comes with a Super Action Controller. Its working in an acceptable manner. The white rocker panel that is supposed to go above the metal contacts was cracked when I bought it. I removed the cracked rocker panel and bent the metal pins up, so it works ok but needs a new rocker panel (which can be 3D printed) or it can be used for parts. Finally, the console is in working condition. The case is pretty clean and labels are in tact. I was getting some rf video noise, so I took it apart and thought the rf port had a cold solder joint, which it turns out, it did. However, there ended up being other issues and now Im getting significant noise and poor picture quality. A composite mod should do the trick, but since I have no coleco experience, Im going to leave that to the experts. Either way, the sum is greater than its parts, for sure. I just honestly dont have time to learn the workings of a new console. I would also entertain trades for another clean ColecoVision- dont need controllers or power supply. Would prefer it modded - could add cash to deal. MSG me with any questions. Thanks!

All prices are in U.S, funds, but I will gladly accept the equivalent in Canadian funds. Payment by paypal. All prices included shipping to mainland U.S. and Canada by Canada Post. I will not ship to other countries within the Americas. Shipping overseas with tracking & insurances costs hundreds of dollars. I will ship overseas untracked if you pay the difference in shipping, payment is made by paypal "gift" and you want to take the risk. I've sent many packages to Europe this way and none have been lost, but it can take a couple months to arrive. Red Famicom Twin system with newer belt and NESRGB, games and Sansuii pad: $400 shipped I can add the matching Famicom Everdrive pictured below for $80 The belt was supposed to have been replaced not long before I bought the system a few years ago, but I haven't spent many hours playing FDS games using the actual disk drive. Working Disk games load fast and work flawlessly. I've already sold most of the working FDS games I had. Zelda loads side A fine, but gets Error 27 loading side B. Galaxy Odyssey loads side A fine, but gets Error 27 loading side B. I have tried the audio cassette. Kiki Kikkai works fine. Kid Icarus works fine. The weird disk with different stickers on either side and the Castlevania case does not work. http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(1).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(2).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(3).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(4).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(5).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(6).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(7).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(.JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(9).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(10).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(11).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(12).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(13).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(14).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(15).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(16).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(17).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin%20(18).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/ftwin.JPG PC-FX $175 shipped http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/pcf%20(1).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/pcf%20(2).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/pcf%20(3).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/pcf%20(4).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/pcf%20(5).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/pcf%20(6).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/pcf%20(7).JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/pcf%20(.JPG http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/pcf%20(9).JPG Neo Geo CD system with AES stick and 4 games $300 shipped I can include an 8-way gate and arcade ball top if you like. Today I've got some information to share on how you can get your Playstation controller working on your Colecovision with adapters. This required some experimenting with using a current-day USB hub with power supply. Check out my results here: Here are the adapters you'll need: 1) 9 pin Sega Genesis extension cords (2) 2) Edladdin Seagull 78 controller adapter (converts Genesis controllers to be fully-compatible with the Atari 7800) 3) Tototek Joypad Converter version MD (converts Playstation controllers to be compatible with the Sega Genesis console) 4) PS1 Multitap 5) Speedlink Redeemer Beyond Total Control Playstation 2 mouse/keyboard adapter 6) powered USB hub with power supply The method: 1) Plug in a Colecovision controller into port 2 of your Colecovision (consider connecting a 9 pin extension cable to it in case you want to sit a little ways away from the console.) 2) Plug a 9 pin extension cable into port 1 of your Colecovision, but don't plug any adapter into it yet. (wait) 3) Connect all the above adapters/PS1 Multitap together but leave the Seagull78 adapter unconnected to the 9 pin extension cable that's plugged into port one of the console. 4) Plug your Playstation controller into port A of the multitap 5) Plug the Speedlink Redeemer into port B of the multitap 6) Connect a powered USB hub (with power supply plugged into the wall) to the lower USB connector of the Speedlink. 7) Turn on your Colecovision and use the keypad of the port 2 Colecovision controller to make your game selection and start up the game. 8 ) Now plug in the adapters to the extension cable that's plugged into port 1 of your Colecovision and play your game with the connected Playstation controller. This method works for many, but not all Colecovision games. The ones that are incompatible with this method are the ones which don't allow a keypad controller that's plugged into port 2 of the console to start up the game, but only a keypad that's plugged into port 1 of the console. If you want to know how to get around that with a 9 pin splitter cable method, take a look at the video presentation. The nice thing about using Playstation controllers is that both buttons- not just one button- will work in the games that have the 2 button access. Another really nice aspect is that you can use a flightstick to play games like Zaxxon and River Raid. Also, it's nice to be able to use an arcade stick to play games like Q-bert or Ladybug.

Hi everyone, been awhile since I've posted here. I have a Colecovision pcb I've been trying to troubleshoot. The problem is, the board is an older version and the schematics...the only schematics...I've found seem to be for a later revision. The board revision is 75743 Rev C. The daughter board is revision 75745 Rev B. The console powers on, boots, plays and has sound but no display. Upon opening the console I found that someone had done some work to the daughter board in an attempt to repair it. The problem is every time I try to follow certain traces it leads to something else in the schematics or vice-verse. I've verified voltages are good, cleaned the power switch and tested for video on pin 36 of the VPU. Even if someone can post a picture of the section with the daughter card removed might be helpful. The best would be if there are schematics for this revision but I'm not holding out hope for that Any help or advice would be great, thanks

Hi everyone! I have recorded 3 videos of myself with an old friend, showing my collection of CreatiVision items. A sort of video-interview where I show the items and tell a lot about them, with also descriptions of hardware, etc. And a video review of games running on the console, etc. The videos are in Italian but you can use the "subtitles" in your preferred language. You will see a few very nice items! In my videos I also mention my friends that helped me over the years, such as Dieter, Michael, Kurt, Thomas, Kym, Jarkko, Adrian, Ian, Maurizio and many more! You don't want to miss these videos Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Also a short video of my Italian MB Vectrex - recorded just for fun Vectrex: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6sv6TltkB0 I hope you enjoy them! Please feel free to comment on Youtube or here. Cheers MAD
