  1. For sale, Commodore 64 arcade joystick: The Commodore 64 Pro CX-1000 Arcade Joystick will work with both the Commodore 64 and Atari 2600. The Commodore 64 Pro is custom made with a genuine arcade quality Industrias Lorenzo 8-Way EuroJoystick with CHERRY microswitches. Button(s) are Happ concave buttons. The iL Eurojoystick may be better known as the original HAPP Competition. iL (Industrias Lorenzo) is a Spanish manufacturer of high quality and extremely durable arcade parts. Originally known for manufacturing HAPP parts (such as the Happ Competition Joystick) until HAPP moved production to SUZO facilities in China, iL continued to provide high quality parts under their own label. Highly sought out by cabinet builders since the quality standard is higher than the new, yet slightly lower quality HAPP standard. Shipping cost depends on location. It varies from $9 up to $18 (Priority mail with tracking). If you send your zip code I can give you an estimate. Paypal Accepted. $63.95
  2. Just put up my new article on the transition from joysticks to gamepads and what caused people to prefer the gamepads. My viewpoint is that gamers were looking for improvement in their hand comfort and the NES gamepad felt better than holding a joystick. Agree? http://www.nerdko.com/2016/10/29/from-joystick-to-gamepad-the-untold-story-of-what-nintendo-did-for-video-game-controllers/
  3. While I was searching the Internet for a potential metal case to use for a custom 5200 joystick, I came across a GORGEOUS joystick, except it's for the 7800... Then I got to thinking... WHAT IF... someone merged that case and stick design with one of these... ... there is obviously room in the case to fit it all. While the finished product would not be cheap, the overall cost would be less for an all-in-one than for one that required multiple cases. It would also have the extra benefit of taking up less space. A right handed version would be PERFECT! Sadly, like most things I think are perfect... they simply do not exist!
  4. Hey everyone. I'm trying to get a general idea as to what joystick is great for the 2600. Any ideas? Thoughts?
  5. January 2017 Update: Per most recent post, I've acquired most of the items I had been looking for, but still looking for first year/first six issues of 99'er Magazine Volume 1, Nos. 1-6. And also would add that I'm looking for a Prostick II Joystick (Blue). Thanks everyone! ---------- Hello, I'm looking to buy the following: TI Color Monitor (PHA4100A) Operating Guide Slymoids (PHM3197) User Manual TI Editor/Assembler Disks (PHM3055) - Original Part A and Part B Floppy Disks First year/First six issues of 99'er Magazine Volume 1, Nos. 1-6 I have PDF versions of the guide, manual, and 99'er magazines listed above, but would like the original printed versions. I also have copies of the TI Editor/Assembler Disks, but would like the original TI supplied disks. As for the 99'er magazines, I have the 99'er Best Of that has most of the content from the first year of print (Volume 1), but would like to have the original six magazines which are likely rare (even copies with mailing labels are fine). Just trying to round out and complete my collection. Happy to pay for the above items and/or offer in trade any of my extra equipment (TI-99/4a Silver/Black console with power supply and documentation, speech synthesizer, PEB with cable and floppy disk drive - but no disk controller just the drive, black program recorder, beige program recorder, dual recorder cable, TI joysticks, TI-Writer Software, Extended Basic, Neurosurgeon, Adventure (cart only), Star Trek, TI Printer Manual - PHP2500). Everything is tested and works. I have the documentation for most of the stuff including TI-Writer, but I don't have the original TI-Writer binder and don't have any of the original packaging/boxes). Any offers/help appreciated. Thanks!
  6. I just purchased an Atari Space Age Joystick, but the red trigger fire button doesn't work. Everything else works fine, and is super smooth, but only button won't work. Can anyone make any suggestions as to how to fix it cause I'm at a loss as it is very different from a standard joystick.
  7. I just thought I could get a quick question about this project I found (http://www.raphnet.net/electronique/atari_usb/index_en.php) which uses a ATMega8a. In the schematic, they connect the analog pins the the Atari 9-pin port. This makes sense for pins 5 and 9, which are used for the POTs, but shouldn't the designer of the circuit use the digital pins for the joystick pins?
  8. Been using the Retrobit 9pin-usb adapter for joysticks. Works a treat with emulators and my old wico stick for when I had the real computers. Thought I'd share with all. RT
  9. HI guys, I'm afraid I don't quite understand how to link to the Gallery like the pinned post said. I don't see the code they are saying to copy on my Gallery page. I hope using a URL link is okay instead. http://atariage.com/forums/gallery/album/1747-darth-dukes-atari-corner/
  10. From the album: Darth Duke's Atari Corner

Here is my weapon of choice. It's an Archer third party joystick that I've had for years. It's got great responsiveness and two fire buttons. The only problem was that it gets slippery when your palms sweat. So, I wrapped it with baseball bat grip tape. Problem solved. Has suction cups on the bottom so I can put it on a TV tray or lap pillow with one of those build in desks on it to keep it steady sometimes. Was a lifesaver when I hurt my left shoulder in a car accident. With this joystick on a TV tray, I was still able to play my Atari even though I had to have rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder. Couldn't play any of my other systems, except select games on the Wii, so the suction cups made my Atari, my go-to console for those months.

  11. I just received and tested one of these nifty units for hooking up a USB mouse to an Amiga. Plus it acts as a switch between a 9-pin joystick and the mouse (just click the LMB fof mouse or the joystick button for the joystick). It's a pretty darned cool adapter and auto-switch. So far I've tested it on an Amiga 500. http://www.ebay.com/itm/231881838496?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  12. I've been doing some research on Atari 2600 controllers recently, because of a project I'm starting in 2 months or so. And I have a few questions for you guys, that no doubt know a lot more than I do on the subject matter. 1) Let's start easy: the CX-50 Keyboard Controllers, the Star Raiders video touch pad and the Kid's Controller are practically the same thing, there's only external differences right? 2) The trackballs. I've seen 2 different ones, the CX-22 and the Pro-Line. And correct me if I'm wrong but, not counting hacks, there are no original 2600 games that support the trackballs in "trackball mode", right? They only work when the trackballs behave like joysticks, is that right? 3) This one's about Wico joysticks, the Command Control ones. They are high-quality controllers, I've heard, with metal base and stick, and internally they use leaf switches. I've seen how leaf switches work, and they seem very easy to repair, if they ever malfunction. So I'm asking Wico owners here: how good are these Joysticks? I think they look cool, and maybe I'll buy one (or two) in the future, but give me some feedback first. 4) I own a pair of Atari Flashback 3 Joysticks. They should work just like regular CX-40 Joysticks, right? 5) I've seen sites selling new reproductions of Atari joysticks. Is anyone making repro paddles out there? 6) This one is less important, but I'm curious: can you use joysticks to play Indy 500? Or does it only work with racing controllers? Well, that's all for now. Also, tell me if there's some other controller that I should check out, I like controllers
  13. I have just made an interface for the Atari trackball to the TI-99/4a. The Atari trackball works like a joystick that needs a +5 to power the sensors. it's essentially an upside down ball mouse. So what I did was create a standard Atari to Ti-99 joystick interface cable then on PIN 7 I attached a +5 from a battery for the Atari trackball sensors. believe it or not it works. Except, and this is the odd part I can't figure out, when the trackball is attached the keyboard display automatically goes into lower case. clicking the alpha lock does nothing and pressing shift will make the upper case letters appear but it will default back to lower case. also, you still have to turn off the alpha lock to enable 'up' on the trackball. this effect happens rather the +5 is attached or not. doesn't seem to effect the TI-99 adversely except throwing it into lower case. ideas?
  14. I'm looking for replacement controllers for my 2600 gaming. I have a pair of TG Enjoysticks, which are fantastic but seem to be on the verge of breaking. I would love to get more of the same but I've never seen them anywhere besides the original auction i got them from. Attached photos are some obscure items that appeal to me, in addition to the Enjoysticks. Some items I have for trade might include loose Vectrex stuff, Dreamcast console, Wii console soft modded for emulation, Game Boy games, Sears console, maybe other stuff. Or money.
  15. If no one on these forums has any of these, would appreciate being pointed in the right direction to find them (or instructions on how to navigate the Best Electronics site to actually BUY something (or even FIND CX10 parts)!) I am looking for: - Replacement springs (x5) for a CX10 Heavy Sixer (will take larger quantity if required) - Plastic board (not sure what it's called) that CX10 springs fit into and that covers the PCB to depress the metal domes. (x1) - Button springs (x2) for CX40 - Replacement posts ((white post with ring on bottom that slides inside the rubber sleeve (x4)) for CX40 And if someone has one for sale(ya right)... a beige (grey?) CX40 as released with the XE game console. Will require shipping to Canada.
  16. Just got my Harmony cartridge and it's great. But, have an odd problem. With my Sears video arcade II joysticks on the menu it always defaults to the paddles even if I have the button on the console set to joystick. also, the button does not work when not in the menu. No big problem as I hardly ever use the SVA II joysticks but use power player joystick. Still, something to point out to see if anyone else has ever had the same problem and maybe Fred can address in some future BIOS update.
  17. Hi. I have a question about the Atari 5200 games library. Are there any game that utilize more than 2 controller at once, using 3 or 4 of the ports on an original 4 port system? If so does anyone have a list of them. Lastly, do any homebrew games utilize this feature? Thanks
  18. Hi everyone. I assume that someone has seen these before but I found these on the weekend so I decided to show them here. I thought they had been lost years ago. When I first had my intellivision I read the intellivision era video game magazines and saw these advertised so I ordered them. It took about four months to get them but I thought they were worth it at the time. I have always had the discs insatalled but couldn't find the joysticks untill I stumbled across them this weekend. One of the ball sticks is still missing. I found the ball sticks to be a bit top heavy and would lean and activate movement if the controller wasn't level, but they worked as you would expect. 19. Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place for my announcement but if you happen to enjoy Atari 8bit games and sometimes have to play them on your PC/Mac/Android using an emulator you might want to check out my new hardware adapter that will make it so much better http://joy.sophics.cz/dual-joystick-usb-adapter/ If you're interested please send me an email. The contact is linked at the bottom of the web page. Thanks, Petr

  22. Hi all, do you think this TouchPad would run on the TI ? Maybe with a homebrewn joystick - adapter ? It´s a "TouchPoint Graphis Tablet". My only info is that it may be for the /OffTopicMode: ON/ Commodore C64 ... /OffTopicMode: OFF/ thanks
  23. I'm looking for a Competition Pro for my 7800 and/or C64 (I believe they have the same pinout, right?). How much are these going for, and does anyone have one to sell? Also, I have a 5200 Competition Pro, so if you want to exchange, I'm sure we can work out a deal that way. Mine is the black with red buttons one.
  24. Greetings, I downloaded Atari800MacX. I then downloaded the ROMs. I can use BASIC and play some .atr games using keyboard. Bought a retrolink joystick. Having trouble making that work. Played around with USB Overdrive and Joystick Mapper, but not having much luck. Any advice? Thanks.
  25. hey all, new to the forum but have been creeping wtihout being a member for a while now.. a few months ago i bought a 7800 system without any cables or controllers, i had the video, ordering the power was easy enough, but given the general review of the proline controller, i decided to build my own controller from arcade parts. seems to have worked out okay for the most part, the 2600 and 2600 games recognize the controller right off. i used http://atariage.com/forums/topic/219466-diy-7800-arcade-stick-help/this post as a rough guide, including the pinout incorporated therein. the major difference is the base wire i'm using is chopped up cat5e, mostly because its what i had laying around the house. now for the particulars, i have 620 ohm resistors in the ground wires for each of the two buttons, and diodes in the lines running to pins 5 and 9. without the diodes i get a weird auto fire feature mentioned elsewhere in the forums. the ground wire for each button has its own line running to pin 8. as far as i can tell everything is wired "correctly" based against info found elsewhere in the forums. so thats good.... except using xevious as a test cart, i can use my joystick, but not the buttons. like i said running it against seaquest using the 7800... everything works fine. xevious or asteroids for the 7800... get me nothing. interesting side note, joust, robotron, and galaga all seem to work fine from what i can tell any ideas on what went wrong?
