Hi, Is it possible to have a virtual keyboard on the atari800 emulator on the GamePad, running under RetroArch (on a softmodded WiiU). I saw a comment on a WiiU video on YouTube (ages ago) that this was possible, but didn't follow up with the question of how to do this. I assume it's a configuration file setting, if it's even possible, as there is nothing in atari800's UI to do this. I'm running atari800 3.1.0 (b59fb7e), which is the latest version in the WiiU RetroArch (AFAIK). I think I can plug in a USB keyboard to the WiiU, but having a virtual keyboard, as used by most tablets, would be a bit easier. Anyone know anything further? TIA!

Convert Altirra Cheat Codes to Retroarch Cheat Codes for Atari 800 Games 1. Altirra Cheat Codes are saved as atcheats files. These text files include cheat name, hex address, hex value. 2. This cheat code information can be manually entered into the Retroarch Cheat Menu for Retroarch Handled data entry. See this weblink: https://docs.libretro.com/guides/cheat-codes/ 3. This method can be used to create and save Retroarch format cheat files that work for the libretro version of Atari800 (3.1) provided with the Nintendo Wii version of Retroarch. The Retroarch frontend software allows this older version of Atari800 to accept hex address cheat codes. 4. I am attaching a zip file with two cheat files for Jumpman (Epyx). Both use the hex address of $30F0 and the hex value of $06. Jumpman Cheats.zip

I made a remark on this subject in the Status updates but these things move fast so I thought I'd try again here. Basically I got a desktop PC again but it's for work and most of my gaming is on Raspberry. I did fire up Retroarch recently just for kicks but then I was impressed by the shaders and had a closer look. Turns out that while most platforms are covered there are serious gaps such as Apple II or proper Amiga (the one included is poorly documented and requires some esoteric steps). There's also a few of the less popular machines such as TRS, Oric, TI-99 or BBC missing. So, I wonder what's the reason for that? None of the explanations proposed in the SU seem feasible to me: there are already cores which use keyboards and obviously it's not about performance since Retroarch does support demanding cores such as Dreamcast, latest MAME or N64. Is it all about popularity and total Nintendo/consoles dominance of the retro scene then? Even so, people added these other platforms to RetroPie which is perhaps less or equally popular as RA...
