  2. HI, I have owned my Veccy now for about 13 years, bringing it to Ireland from The Isle of Man via titchy airplane in a dodgy field in Ulster somewhere... long story..... Anyways, a couple of months ago I plugged it in and the buttons on the controller refused to respond to anything. The stick still works just fine but none of the buttons seem to work at all. The Veccy suffered no bumps, trips or falls, it has sat in the same spot for some time, the controller buttons simply ceased to respond one day, despite having worked the previous time it was turned on. So, Big Question. Before I open the controller up, Has anyone else had this problem? I was thinking it might be something simple, seeing as all the buttons are not responding, like the ground wire being broken in some regard. But the stick still responds..... Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
  3. Has anyone found a source for clear box protectors for Vectrex games? I've looked on Clearbags, but the only one that's close would be almost two inches too tall.
  4. Here's the newest addition to the MiniVex controller lineup for Vectrex. The MiniVex V features a steel case and an adjustable rapid fire feature for button #4, like the other models do. This one's got a LH mounted spinner control and a RH mounted analog paddle control. The spinner can be used with some homebrew games and an assortment of original Vectrex titles that have been modified for spinner use. It also doubles as an extra fire button, just push down on it. The paddle control can be used with the game "Hyperchase" in its original, unmodified Vectrex cartridge format, as well as Vectrace, Spike's Water Balloons, Vaboom, and a few other homebrew titles. There's also a switch that selects the X or Y axis for the paddle, which allows you to navigate menus on multi-carts AND crank up the thrusters on Moon Lander. All in all, a versatile package. Need additional info? Please post here or PM me. Larry
  5. CHIMNEY HUNT! A free vectrex game. visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/vectrex/ and find the download. Video here: https://youtu.be/JmAB6ncZ3Ss The Story: It's Christmas time but disaster! Due to price increases Santa can't afford to make enough presents! The gifts he's lost over the years whilst delivering down chimneys would be enough to cover the shortfall if only there was an economic way to collect them all. Elf boffins from the temporal engineering department to the rescue. By adapting the space folding technology that lets Santa deliver presents to 7 Billion people in one night, they've managed to space-warp every chimney on earth into one gigantic mega-chimney. You must fly down the mega-chimney and collect all the lost presents to save Christmas. Dare you enter the Mega-Chimney? Good Luck!
  6. Hi Vectrex-ahloics...got a worn-out controller, and those little space mines are walking all over you? Here's some new alternatives to get those scores back up where they should be. The following hand controllers are compatible with Vectrex only, but the foot pedal add-on is compatible with Atari 2600 / VCS also. -MiniVex I: single analog joystick with rapid fire capability for button #4.Comes with your choice of red, black, or gray buttons. -MiniVex II: twin analog sticks, rapid fire for button #4. Can be operated on one cable as a conventional single-stick controller, or on both cables for simultaneous dual stick action games such as Robot Arena or Stramash Zone. Has a toggle switch for selecting left or right cable for button input, both for selecting the appropriate cable when only one cable is plugged in and preventing overlapping inputs when both cables are plugged in. -MiniVex III: spinner and analog joystick in one unit, rapid fire for button #4. Comes in both LH spinner and RH spinner models. These are compatible with homebrew spinner titles and original titles that have been modified for spinner use. Also functions as a conventional joystick controller. The spinner doubles as an additional fire button...just push down on it. -MiniVex IV: LH mounted spinner, rapid fire for button #4, no joystick. Comes with choice of red, black, or gray buttons. Like the MiniVex III, it's compatible with homebrew spinner games and original titles that have been modified for spinner use. The following foot pedal add-on is compatible with both Vectrex and the Atari 2600 / VCS. -MiniVex Pedal I: foot pedal interface for the Vectrex and Atari 2600. Plugs right into either console and provides a foot pedal substitute for the four Vectrex buttons, the action buttons on the Atari joystick, driving controller, and player 1 paddle, as well as all four directions on the Atari joystick. Works with factory and aftermarket controllers. Cable measures 6" between console jack and selector box, and 5' between selector box and pedal. All of these controllers, with the exception of the actual foot pedal, come in a steel case and are hand-made by me. It's a very time-consuming process, and the finished products are not and will never be cosmetically perfect, but they are TOUGH. Here's how they compare in size to the factory unit: Interested in one of these? You can contact me here, or purchase through eBay. As these are so time-consuming to make, I generally post them on eBay as soon as they're completed. Prices and shipping are the same whether purchased on eBay or through me. My eBay seller's name is: classicgamesandcarsfan. Larry / Classicgamesnut on AtariAge

  8. So here's my new game Veccy Bird for the Vectrex... Updated: Veccy_Bird_V1_5.zip 1.5 -Made bird brighter -Added Support for Vectrex standard high score -Fixed another high score bug where it would reset to a lower value sometimes. -Reduced the maximum score required to win, its now easier to finish the game! -Added new score name ratings -Added new win screen (let me know if you get to it!!)
  9. The Vectrex home console was a bit of an anomaly back in the early 80s, with it's vector based graphics, built in TV and analog joysticks. Now, that classic & rare console has been lovingly brought to the iOS platform along with many of the games. I review the iPad version along with the iCade and come away impressed! If you are having problem starting the app, it's because your iPad is jailbroken...
  10. Does anyone here have a spare console and are willing to part with it? I need the console and a working controller to get me a taste of the vectrex lifestyle, games will come later.
  11. So I'm driving to work this morning, I look over and this lady has got all these boxes in her yard. She is starting to set up for a rummage. Everything is in boxes except for one very recognizable item. When I saw it was a Vectrex I slammed on my brakes so hard I'm lucky I didn't crash. I was running late already but I ran to the yard and asked If she was open yet. She laughs and says you interested in the Vectrex. I asked what she was looking to get. My jaw almost dropped when she said 15 bucks I said I'll take it and she says wait I got some games in one of these boxes. So she starts digging around and she finds four games. The only other time I've seen a Vectrex was at the midwest gaming classic this year and I think that dude wanted like 200 bucks. I was so pumped I found this thing, and I still made it to work on time. What a great way to start a day right?
  12. For sale: Complete Star Trek game for the Vectrex. Box has some wear but decent for it's age. Never used, comes with box, cart, plastic tray, maual, self play reminder (under cart in picture), and color overlay. Pictures are exactly what you would get if we come to an agreement on value. PM me with any questions, requests for more pictures, or an offer. Thanks
  13. I'm only posting this new web app for info on an old console due to that this app is accessible through a modern device. Anyway, if you go to http://vectrexmuseum.com/mobile/vecapp.php you can find some info on a new web app for iphone, Ipad etc. If you go to he web browser on your device go to:http://vectrexmuseum.com/mobile/ you can find ebay auctions for UK, Germany ,and USA.
  14. asking $75 shipped. Vecmulti is new and unused. Includes microSD card with some stuff on it. PM for details.
  15. 2/5/2012 UPDATE: Sold items removed. No new additions, but check out my eBay auctions for items not listed here. Please check back often because I may add stuff without bumping. The new stuff will appear first under the separate headings, and photos of sold items will be taken down. Also, check the "Free with purchase" list at the end, as I'll be adding more and more stuff to it as I find things. This is a long post, so please keep scrolling down for Vectrex, 2600, 5200, 8-Bit, ST, Intellivision, Odyssey 2, PS1, PS2, and odds and ends. Right now, none of these items is on eBay, but some might end up there in a week or so, meaning that there's a small chance that it will be purchased before I can remove it from this list. My prices on AA are lower than my eBay prices for reasons of fees and goodwill. In most cases, shipping will be Parcel Post or Priority (Priority is sometimes cheaper because of the "Click 'n' Ship" online discount) from 54703 zip code, and I'll ship to only the lower 48 U.S. Some light stuff can go in a first class or media mail bubble mailer. (Once a parcel goes over 1 pound, shipping gets more expensive than a lot of people think, so check usps.com. A CIB game with packing in a mailing box can be 11-13 ounces by itself.) Sometimes a flat rate box is the cheapest way to go. Let's say a minimum order of $5. Thanks! *** INTELLIVISION HARDWARE ORIGINAL INTELLIVISION CONSOLE AND INTELLIVOICE (WITH BOX; BOX IS IN POOR SHAPE BUT WITH MATCHING SERIAL #). THIS UNIT HAS BEEN CLEANED AND TESTED. SOME CARTRIDGES (AND THE INTELLIVOICE) REQUIRE YOU TO INSERT THEM ALMOST--BUT NOT ALL--OF THE WAY TO GET TO THE OPENING SCREEN AND THEN EVERYTHING WORKS NORMALLY. I HAVE MULTIPLE INTELLIVISIONS AND THINK THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE MODELS. OTHERWISE, IT WORKS GREAT. SOME WEAR ON THE GOLD DISCS. GREAT "BANG FOR THE BUCK" SYSTEM. $20 SOLD ON EBAY GAMES Almost all come with the box, and almost all come with the manual and both overlays too. In some cases, the box is in what I'd call worse than acceptable shape (bleaching, missing bottom flap, smashed, some other malady). The other boxes range in shape from acceptable to very good. I have another 4P 5200 and used the RF box from that, so no RF box is included here. The well cover stays on just fine, but the hinges are broken, and there is a small chip in the lower right corner of the cover. A little dirty. I opened it up to see if there was an easy fix, and I turned all of the tabs of the RF shield without breaking any. However, I could not budge the RF shield and decided not to hurt myself or the mainboard. $10 SOLD WORKING 5200 CONTROLLER (FIRE BUTTONS AND S/P/R TESTED, KEYPAD NOT TESTED), $12 SOLD *** ODYSSEY 2 HARDWARE Odyssey 2 with original box (no styrofoam). "RENEWED" stamped on bottom. Two detachable black controllers, one working, one not. Modded for standard RF plug. There is a little RF interference when playing (small dots); may be because of the unshielded RCA cable I used to mod. Also comes with power supply, original RF cable (removed from unit), pack-in game, owner's manual, catalog, warranty card, receipt for service (!). Previous owner's name is taped onto the front and on the back of the cartridge. Fair condition overall, with some scrapes on the bottom and on one joystick that look like they were made with a soldering iron. Works fine, but may be best for the O2 completeist who wants the "RENEWED" unit with the uncommon black detachable joysticks. $20 SOLD Odyssey 2 with original box and styrofoam! Two attached black controllers, both working. Has stock standard RF plug. Includes switchbox (VHF prong connectors a little loose) and power supply. This unit is in excellent working and cosmetic condition (the power button is rotated a little bit). The box is in superb shape as well, although there are a few strips of Scotch tape where the box closes. Styrofoam is in great shape. No manual, but there is a registration card. 16. Just saw this on eBay. I can't imagine the URL would be worth $5k, would it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/VECTREX-COM-Domain-for-Sale-/321902323791
  17. Hey all A while back I bought a vectrex in working order. The pic was a bit dim and out of whack, but it was playable. I got the bright idea to run a capkit through it to brighten things up, and now when I fire it up the LOPT is literally smoking Anyone know where I can source a new LOPT, or any ideas what would be causing it? Im running on the assumption that recapping has restored voltages back to levels the old LOPT cant handle.......... Or, is there anyone who can fix this for me in exchange for cash? Im in Western Australia. thanks and regards.
  18. Very quick introduction (again): David 'Ozyr' Flemming, the owner of Packrat Video Games, LLC. For those who don’t already know — the change from the old Packrat happened during late 2012 into 2013. It was announced here earlier this year that Packrat would be taking over production of Vectrex games that John Dondzila was selling on his Website (Packrat has a contract with John to do such). The process has been slow, hampered by family health issues (myself, mother, and now my sister too), but progress moves on. Things are still moving ahead, and as of today, Gravitrex and Protector / YASI are once for sale again through Packrat (www.packratvg.com). More Vectrex games will be added as there is time to do so. So, Packrat is getting there, step by step. (Please note - at this time due to the family issues mentioned, order are still being done, but there will be small delays in email replies, and some delays in shipping — not big delays, but shipping won't happen super quick — thanks for your understanding in this). Rest assured, all of John's games and VectrexCarts game too will be be for sale again soon. This will happen during the end of 2014 and into early 2015. Thank you to any and all Packrat fans out there! Packrat Video Games, LLC is proud to becoming a member of the Vectrex community (Personally have three units, and a good amount of Homebrews that I bought over the years for the Vectrex — outstanding system)!

  22. # vecZ - vertical-shootemup - launch on 5. nov at gameZfestival.ch (23.30h) at the end the vectors won. everything is now vector based in games (as an opengl or directx scene .-) therefore step back, step into the beginning 80ies with assembler and the vector console vectrex. and of course vecZ is a shootemup the most complicated (timing, a lot of action etc.) thing in those times. # release/launch at gameZfestival vecZ will be released online on 5th november 2016 at gameZfestival.ch in zurich/switzerland. enjoy the spirit of painted lines! # roms the game will be released online and later also at madtronix.com # greetings hudson for the usb-cartridge, matronix for his publishing, baudsurfer for his work and the designers of xenon2, gunroar, ikaruga, zynaps ... thanks for your code_style # who finished it first? i wonder who will send me the first "game won" photo on a emulator and of course on a real vectrex .-) the latest infos you will find here: http://www.la1n.ch/vecz/ la1n
